Phantom Drain of ~8% per day parked at home (no sentry)

My best guess is this was just BMS calibration. Meaning that your car should have been 2% less all along, but it didn't know until it had time to calibrate after the drive completed. If this is happening all the time then I'd be concerned. If it's a one off, or once in a while but only after...

Extreme battery loss on Model 3 (˜10% per day) since 2023.20.4.1. Contacted service and told this is normal (more info below)

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. However, I am excited that you now have the fix and hopefully everything else goes well with this car after the fix. It certainly was frustrating, and for all other cars I've owned in the past I would have never had the patience to be "ok" with this...

Phantom Drain of ~8% per day parked at home (no sentry)

I don't know if it's the RCM, but I can say that when my car had the issue with the RCM, it NEVER went to sleep EXCEPT after a hard reboot (ie software update). Looks like yours did go to sleep for large chunks. I did notice my 2023 MYLR have some connectivity outages a few times throughout...

Extreme battery loss on Model 3 (˜10% per day) since 2023.20.4.1. Contacted service and told this is normal (more info below)

I fully agree. They certainly don't need to do a full in-person multiday diagnosis of an issue when someone just complains of battery drain of a few % after a long drive, or having sentry/smart-summon/cabin overheat on and persisting the drain. In the cases of most of the people here though, I...

Extreme battery loss on Model 3 (˜10% per day) since 2023.20.4.1. Contacted service and told this is normal (more info below)

Assuming you have the same problem I did, what I noticed was a constant humming/sound coming from the engine area all day long. I took short video clips throughout the day across multiple days of the humming sound when the car should be sleeping. I put in a service ticket about the car...

I definitely was not getting this sound. Definitely include that video in your ticket for Tesla service.

Looks like the clicking has returned so it definitely did not get fixed. I will just wait until the next service to report this unless it gets too annoying.

New tesla model 3 RWD battery drain while parked problem and park assist unavailable

Oh that's interesting. I did not get my seat replaced. I reported that I was hearing a constant "clicking" sound from the passenger seat during drives and this would resolve temporarily if I just adjusted the seat slightly. Always assumed this was completely separate. However, since the RCM...

New tesla model 3 RWD battery drain while parked problem and park assist unavailable

If it's the RCM, then like me you should be able to hear a constant "hiss" from the front of the car that's indicative of something keeping the car awake. You might want to add that to the service and have them check it out. The hissing sound is normal during drive, but should not persist...

Have not noticed this myself, will keep an eye out. It's possible as DrChaos says that since connections are off while car is asleep that it could take an extra minute after waking up to connect to services again, especially if you have weak wifi where you park.

New tesla model 3 RWD battery drain while parked problem and park assist unavailable

I'm so sorry you had to go through so much just to get it fixed. Like you, I've only had the car for under 20 weeks and experienced the same issues, but luckily they got mine replaced in a single day. That's really luck of the draw to which techs you get. On the plus side, hopefully we're all...

Only so much you can do. Also, it could actually be the computer or another part that's causing the same drain. All we know are similar symptoms, root cause could be anything.

Picked up and can confirm sleep after arriving home.

Can confirm that the tech who replaced my RCM reported that it likely caused autopilot module to get overloaded and not work. They suspect it to be the same issue. Just got home and was able to see the vehicle go to sleep.

Phantom Drain of ~8% per day parked at home (no sentry)

Huzzah, looks like problem was fixed. After driving the car home, it looks like the car was able to go to sleep. Can confirm that they replaced the RCM (Restraint Control Module) and the tech reported that this was likely keeping the autopilot module awake as well which caused it to overload...

Just got message from Tesla service that they replaced my RCM module. They were able to confirm that it was the unit responsible for constantly pinging the car and keeping it awake. I can see through the Tessie app that my car did indeed go to sleep finally last night. They confirmed the fix...

They reported car fixed and confirmed that the restraint control module (RCM) was constantly keeping the car awake. They replaced the module and the car was able to go to sleep finally! I'm going to pick up later today and will report back if there are any future concerns.

Phantom Drain of ~8% per day parked at home (no sentry)

Car is at the service center now. The service rep seemed uninterested in my explanations and just wants the tech to look at it. I'm guessing this is going to take a bit of back and forth to get to the stage where it will be resolved. Luckily for me they have a loaner car available for me...

Phantom Drain of ~8% per day parked at home (no sentry)

What I noticed and what you can check on is whether or not the car is constantly "humming" while idle at home and not plugged in. I noticed this happening, took multiple short videos of it happening throughout the day. These would be times where you believe the car should be idle and asleep...

If you don't mind, can you provide the case id or service invoice # for this so those of us with upcoming appointments can make a reference? I know not all cases will be the exact same, but being able to point to something and saying "can you cross reference with this other similar issue" can help.

I happened to have an autopilot issue as well so I reported both and got an appointment for autopilot.

Yea, if you report a battery problem it doesn't schedule an appointment. They run a diagnostic in the background then decide when to reach out to you.

Phantom Drain of ~8% per day parked at home (no sentry)

I got my car in April 2023 and am having this problem. Unless I got a bad 12v battery I don't think that's the issue. The autopilot issues, unless coincident, also means it's not just the 12v.

Any chance you can get a case id or service request id or something similar that we might be able to provide to Tesla when we have our service appointments for them to review while doing our service? It might help them hone in on the issue if they can compare notes.

Phantom Drain of ~8% per day parked at home (no sentry)

Got a service appointment set up next Tuesday 08/08. Will update as we go along. Originally they were going to sent a mobile tech, but after asking about my concerns, they updated it to a service center. Also, the focus is on cameras/sensors based on my backup camera/autopilot issues. I also...

This is not LFP only. I have a 2023 Fremont built MYLR without LFP battery and encountering similar issues of 8% drain per day with the car unable to sleep.

I have the same issue, apologize for starting yet another thread on this but I was linked here afterwards. It's here: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/phantom-drain-of-8-per-day-parked-at-home-no-sentry.307813/ I have submitted a service request through the app, which just asks me to...

Phantom Drain of ~8% per day parked at home (no sentry)

Thanks for the info @greg1 . Like many others mentioned, I also ran into the parking assist (data visualization) disappearing and losing the ability to use autopilot. I had set up a service appointment for that and they were able to reboot things there and get it working again, but it did not...

No FSD, but I have not tried deleting the wifi connection yet. I clicked it off in the car, but now that you mention it, I doubt it does anything. And yes, the car location has a weak wifi signal so I'll definitely try that when I get home. Thanks!

Phantom Drain of ~8% per day parked at home (no sentry)

I am experiencing constant battery drain on my vehicle. I uninstalled all 3rd party apps and reset my password and was still experiencing this drain. Because of that, I wanted to know the car better and have an idea of what's happening, so I installed Tessie to help me track what's happening...
