Tomorrow at 1PM PDT we will be discussing the latest Tesla Shareholder Meeting on the TMC Podcast. You can watch live on YouTube or X and participate in the chat.
Here we go. Received a firmware update today. I’ll report back tomorrow to verify if it worked or not. Anyone else get this update or was it created especially for my system?
It works if I flip the power button on any power wall plus or it works to disable the inverters in the Tesla pro app or stopping and restarting the system in the same app. I can’t tell if it is any particular string. I think it’s the inverters going to sleep and not waking back up for whatever...
With all this said. We are going out of town on vacation and was hoping to bank some credits with us being out of town using little energy, but no one will be home to power cycle. Does anyone know a way to remote reset your powerwalls/inverters?
Update/No Update again: Installer still working with Tesla. They sent me the email chain between level 2 support and the installer. Here is the latest.
"Good Morning, I wanted to update you regarding the issue. Apparently the service engineers have located a software glitch causing the...
I would not be accepting these results. I am assuming you have reached out to your attorney general or an attorney? Have you pushed warranty on them yet? I really feel bad for you. As much as these things cost, they should operate better.
Just a update/NO UPDATE LOL. My installer said Level 2 Tech Support has claimed its a firmware issue. They are claiming they have multiple users experiencing this same problem. I was told to continue to power cycle each morning till the firmware update comes out with no ETA on that. Anyone...
I used the powerwalls last night and were at 59% when they tried to kick in and still no luck. I will check the other stuff. Installer is set to come next week and see what’s going on.
BTW the setting on the software didn't fix the problem. They want to wait it out a few days to make sure but still not coming on automatically in the mornings. Will keep updating everyone when we find a fix.
Installers came back today and phoned Tesla. Tesla claimed it was because I was on the Time Based Control and the batteries were at 100% in the morning causing the inverters to not turn on. I have my doubts this is the problem, but I have a 1:1 net metering plan with my Energy Provider. So I...
Day 3 in a row today that I had to power cycle the system and it comes up working perfectly fine but the inverters don’t wake up on their own. One shows disconnected other shows disabled until I power cycle then they work like normal.
I had my system installed last Friday by a certified Tesla Installer. Tesla does not do their own installs in NC. I had a 14.98kw system installed consisting of 37 Q cell Panels and 2 powerwall+'s and 1 powerwall 2. The first morning after the install, I woke up to no production of solar. I...
Sweet app. I have tried to login to the gateway and can't get it to work. I got the password off the sticker inside the gateway. I did a network scan and got the IP address. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
System is a 14.8KW system with 2 Powerwall+'s and 1 Powerwall. I have the system setting on self consumption mode. I understand Tesla throttles the system Pre PTO to try and eliminate electricty going back through the grid, but I thought this would only happen once the batteries were full. I...
They told me they were going to run a wire. I just wasn't sure if the gateway would be in the garage or by the meters. I will update that when they do the install. Waiting on permits now.
Do you know if the CT's come off the gateway or the powerwalls/inverters? My powerwalls are going in my garage on the opposite side of the house. The gateway will be by the meter, I believe.
It looks like 2 60a breakers to me in this diagram. I uploaded one zoomed in a little better. According to them. They are moving all the loads we want backed up to one 200a panel. Moving some non backed up breakers to the other panel. It is so confusing to me. I will be aware of the CT's...
OK. So I got my line diagram in today. Should this be sufficient in backing up 1 200a panel and being able to see both 200a panels and use while on the grid? The installer told me it would, but just wanting to get a second opinion. Basically, I want to be able to see all loads on the app...
I am at 6.99% financing. We are at 92-95% offset. I think with the 3 powerwalls we can get close to 100%. I guess adding 2-3 panels wouldn't cost that much more. 🤣
I am with you. I wanted to stay within budget. I started with a 13k system and 1 Powerwall. Now I am at a 15K system with 3 powerwalls. Probably the better thing to do, would be up the system and get 2 powerwalls. I have net metering. 1-1 ratio for 5 years.
Thanks. I will make sure I discuss with the installers. While I have 2 200a breakers I would say with certainty I’m never over 200a at one time which is all one gateway can handle if I read it correctly.
Another question regarding this setup. As you can see I have 400a service via 2 200a panels. I understand, I will only be backing up one. My other question is I will have the smaller AC and a few other small breakers on the other 200a panel. Will I be able to run these via the powerwalls not...
I know this has been discussed 100 times, but since every situation is a bit different I wanted to get some more opinions. Installer is recommending 2 Powerwalls. 15KW Solar System. Should offset us about 92-95%. I am looking a whole house backup situation. We have 2 Air Units. I am OK not...
