    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Keep in mind most people who have had accurate EDDs aren't as likely to post here as those who have had them change wildly, so you are going to a bias in the number of posts. Mine has been pretty spot on from ~June, to 5/26 - 6/30, to 6/16 - 6/30, and finally a delivery date of 6/13.

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Question for those who third party financed: what do I need to bring to my delivery date? The credit union says they will mail the check to Tesla and provide me with a copy of the check and the tracking number. Is that all Tesla needs? I know this is a question for a service advisor, but they...

So is this saying it already heats up the battery in the same way the S3XY buttons? I wonder if anyone that has received the car has monitored temps in Insane mode.
  4. W

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Using the S3XY buttons, how do you know when the battery has reached optimal temp for max power?

Love it, N54 E82 is my current DD

I would love to see Tesla's EDD algorithm, I'm guessing something like this:

I'm not sure what an OTA update is going to do if the battery is the limiting factor

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

That DLO guy commented on one of his videos that he has a Dragy on the way, hopefully he has Amazon Prime 😅

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

I don't really see the use of what this car or the previous can do with an optimized battery. I'm not waiting for 10min before hitting a back road or an on ramp, or overtaking etc. If it's not immediately usable what is the point, beyond bragging rights?

This is why I take most reviews of the M3P with a grain of salt. It's quick no doubt, but that's obviously relative and I don't think the average person has been in a high hp car. That's also why the Cammisa review was so intriguing to me.

    Model 3 Performance/Ludicrous Waiting Room

Has there been any black interior configs spotted in the states, either showrooms or on trucks etc? I think just about every video I've seen so far has been white interior.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

From what I've seen the test drive cars are speed limited to ~85mph, doesn't look like you had that limitation.

Roughly up to what speed did you get it? Man these mixed reviews are killing me!

Never owned a Tesla, but will be replacing a ~400whp ICE car. Rented a '22 M3P and was moderately impressed, but I did notice the power dropoff at speed. Seems like the refresh will suit me pretty well.

Yes clearly I didn't just read a bunch of your posts saying it traps 115 despite the myriad proof that has been posted. I guess draggy times are fake, youtube videos are doctored and the world is conspiring against you. 🤷

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

Watch the video dummy, you can literally see when the car goes through the traps. What a weird hill to die on lol

Any idea how much frequent pre-heating affects battery life/degradation? It would be nice if they would add in the pre-heat capability and call it drag mode or whatever, but if it affects the battery long term then obviously that would raise their warranty costs.

2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

I'm assuming you are heating the battery prior to these runs? How long does that take from a cold start? Do you/can you keep it heated at all times?

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

So do you think he pulled a true 2.9 (no rollout) WITH a passenger? That seems hard to believe considering Tesla's 2.9 with rollout, without a passenger
  20. W

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

I don't think this is correct, Cammisa didn't specify his runs were with or without rollout, which almost certainly means they were WITH rollout subtracted.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

How is it possible that out of all these so-called automotive reviewers (aka youtubers), not a single one of them got a 1/4mi dragy result?
  24. W

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

I'm definitely interested in the M3L, but not as intrigued as I was before the news came out that it wasn't using a plaid motor. I'd rather have a smaller car like the 3, but a lightly used plaid at 65k is increasingly appealing.

Maybe they're waiting until Star Wars day (May 4th) as a play on the Space Balls references. Probably not but what else are we going to talk about at this point.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

If they price it <$55 to qualify for the tax credit, then charge $7.5 for the 'ludicrous', it would be $55k out the door and they pocket the $7.5 from Uncle Sam. I have no idea if they will do that, but it seems like the best way to maximize profit.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Right, it's almost as if it's all down to...preference.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

So to summarize the last several pages, the taycan (7:07, $230,000) is ~4% faster around the a track than the plaid ($110,000, 7:25) at ~110% increase in price. is it worth it? only you can decide, because I can't afford either (which is why I'm on a model3 thread).

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Not to pick nits here, but it didn't beat the 'Dark Helmet' plaid. That car holds the EV record still at 1:26.7 (ridiculous aero and all).

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Looks like 275/30/r20, at least in the rear. Hopefully square.

This just in: people want all the things but don't want to pay for them. More at 11, Bob.

Seems to me that that have no interest because they have no financial incentive, doing anything else is just bad business.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

But if there are no drivetrain changes to the M3P, why wouldn't the highland version be released along with the non-performance?
