    Help adjusting coilovers

Ok friends, I been adjusting these coilovers like crazy. The perch heights are all over the charts. The front 131.5mm and 115.1mm, the rear 40mm and 44.4mm. Compressing the spring is super annoying to adjust the fronts, I kept breaking the plastic tabs trying to adjust in place, I found that...

Vendor ST Suspensions - ST XA Adjustable Coilover Kit - Tesla Model Y - New Pricing!

Ugh, I broke a few more collar tabs. So decided to try a much easier way to adjust them. You need to remove the sway bar bolt, upper control arm ball joint, and 3 top hat bolts. Basically remove everything except the bottom shock bolt, keep this in place to keep the shock body base from...

    Help adjusting coilovers

What tool do you use to measure distance between floor and battery pack? I can’t use a caliper down there, or a solid ruler. I suppose I could use a tape measure, but would have to bend it when it hits the battery pack and I wouldn’t get a very accurate reading.

    Help adjusting coilovers

The rears are easy, but time consuming to adjust as I have to remove the strut and spring to adjust the collar with absolutely zero resistance. The Fronts are difficult but quick to adjust because I just have to remove a wheel to adjust the collar in-place, however that collar is frikkin hard to...

    Help adjusting coilovers

The numbers don’t make sense. For example, here is my latest adjustment for the passenger front height: Passenger front movement: -2.7mm This single 2.7mm drop caused odd affects to the other 3 corners: driver front: -3.2mm Passenger rear: -4.1mm Driver rear: +.9mm As you can see, the drop in...

    Help adjusting coilovers

Hi friends, I installed ST XA coilovers 2 weeks ago. I’ve been trying to make all 4 corners even with a 1.5” drop or at least make the fronts even and backs even, but the task seems impossible. Whenever I raise or lower one wheel, the other 3 wheels will raise or lower an unpredictable amount...

Vendor ST Suspensions - ST XA Adjustable Coilover Kit - Tesla Model Y - New Pricing!

Oh cool, I’ll probably buy a new set of perches if I end up breaking too many tabs. I assume with time, the plastic will get more softer or more brittle and become even easier to break. I am making adjustments with the wheel off and unloaded. I don’t think it’s possible to adjust while the...

Vendor ST Suspensions - ST XA Adjustable Coilover Kit - Tesla Model Y - New Pricing!

So these plastic adjustment collars are pretty weak, I broke 2 corner pieces on the front drivers side. If you don’t hold it in the perfect position, the metal C-tool will slip and break off a corner. Eventually I’ll break all corners and will have to compress the spring in order to adjust...

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

Yeah front is easy to access, I found the easiest way to access the rear is to unbolt the two 15mm bolts holding the top hat to the chassis, then compress the shock down twist a little and pull it out of the fender lining. You do not need to remove the lower 21mm bolt. If you have a child they...

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

Maybe you still have it set to too soft? I ran the softest setting too, but was too bouncy and amplified large bumps instead of dulled them out. The softest I could go without worsening the ride was 10Front 12 rear. I don’t have the Endurapro anymore, I switched to ST XA coilovers and dropped...

Vendor ST Suspensions - ST XA Adjustable Coilover Kit - Tesla Model Y - New Pricing!

@tom @ eas installation question, I’ve read that after lowering the car, you need to loosen all the suspension bolts, then preload the spindle with a jack until it slightly lifts the car so the spindle can be near ride height, then retorque at ride height. Is there any truth to this? It makes...

Vendor ST Suspensions - ST XA Adjustable Coilover Kit - Tesla Model Y - New Pricing!

I went ahead and dropped the car another 0.5” making the total drop 1.5”. I expected the car comfort to decrease, but the strangest thing happened, the car seems to have gotten slightly MORE comfortable. I’m guessing the stiffer portion of the front progressive springs engage earlier, so it...

Vendor ST Suspensions - ST XA Adjustable Coilover Kit - Tesla Model Y - New Pricing!

Nah man, I pump through speedbumps and driveways with gusto at even greater speed! The shocks eat em up so much better, all I feel is a soft clunk instead of being thrown around like a rag doll. I’m currently riding at a 1” drop with 5.8” ground clearance, it’s 0.5” lower than a MYP, but still...

Vendor ST Suspensions - ST XA Adjustable Coilover Kit - Tesla Model Y - New Pricing!

What’s the lowest you recommend I drop this without compromising my battery? MPP suggests the lowest battery height to be 135mm which equates to a 1.5” drop with a ground clearance of 5.3”, even though their coilovers have the ability to drop 2.49”. I should be able to clear speed bumps easy...

Vendor ST Suspensions - ST XA Adjustable Coilover Kit - Tesla Model Y - New Pricing!

Since there are absolutely 0 reviews on the ST XA Coilover Kit for Model Y, I think it is my responsibility to get the word out on this amazing, yet affordable Model Y coilover kit. Thanks @tom @ eas for recommending them to me. My primary goal was to increase comfort over pothole ridden roads...

Vendor ▀▄ eas | Dinan Suspension Components now available for Tesla Model Y!

Nobody has ever suggested ST Suspensions coilovers, can you link me some user reviews and can you compare comfort with say Tein Endurapro plus with Stock 2023 MYLR springs(my current setup)? All I hear about is the $3000 Ohlin comfort coilovers being the most comfortable, and MPP non-adjustable...

Vendor ▀▄ eas | Dinan Suspension Components now available for Tesla Model Y!

@tom @ eas My main concern is with getting in/out of standard or slightly steep driveways. I like the look of the H&R's 1.7" drop, my justification is that the new M3P is 1.8" lower than my MYLR, so if it comes stock like that, it probably doesn't have problems getting out of driveways. Dinan's...

Vendor ▀▄ eas | Dinan Suspension Components now available for Tesla Model Y!

@Nimilol can you measure the ground to the fender or ground to chassis between the two wheels, the pictures and finger gap measurements suggest that these springs lower more than the advertised .75”

Vendor ▀▄ eas | Dinan Suspension Components now available for Tesla Model Y!

@tom @ eas trying to decide between these Dinan 0.75” drop and H&R with the 1.7” drop. Do these ride similarly comfortwise despite the extra inch drop? Have you heard of people bottoming out on the H&Rs? Ground clearance-wise here are the numbers of how far we can drop the MYLR to match other...

Tein EnduraPro Plus - Should I modify bump stop?

Fellas fellas fellas, no need to trim the bump stop. It was necessary in different vehicles with much larger and harder bumpstops, but for the model Y it’s completely unnecessary. If you decide to trim the bumpstops be sure you keep the top widest ring, that’s the actual bumpstop and it is also...

Best (most problem free and well supported) Power Frunk for the 2023

Damn, all these failure stories have put me off from installing a powered frunk. I installed just the soft-close portion of the frunk. It’s a motor attached to a cable that sucks the hood closed when the latch touches a metal trigger. The cable releases when it’s done so you can open it normally...

Navigation system keeps muting itself. Any ideas? 2022 MYLR

It’s Feb 4, 2024 and this software issue is still not fixed. Cmon Tesla, shouldn’t be that hard. You give us fart lock noises, but not fix this issue. Your priorities are all out of whack.

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

So after accessing the maintenance page using the only compatible browser(firefox) I was able to find the proper install location. You use this special ride height tool, or just measure 60 mm from this mid point in the arm. I can only hope that I haven't warped the rubber too much having it in...

None of the links work for me and I’m in the US. I can’t seem to access the repair info at all using my Tesla account. Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

I asked Tein if I should use the rubber grommets above the rear top hats since I obviously can’t use them in the front because of the much longer piston sticking out: That is up to you, if you are planning to adjust the dampening quite often it may get in the way. It could also help protect...

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

Tein specifically says to use the OEM bump stops unmodified because they have the same travel distance as OEM struts. The smaller 2/3 segments are extremely soft and you can compress them with your fingers, they are there to create a smooth transition to the harder segment that actually stops...

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

So I loosened the 13mm bolts on the FUCA to get it out of the way to pull the front strut out. Do I need to put it down and tighten it at a certain spot, or do I just eyeball it and tighten it after I put the new shock in and ball joint?

Got a reply from Tein support regarding the boot cup/collars that don’t fit: Good morning, In regards to that lower cup, it is not needed on the endurapro. However you still will want to add the dust boots. Regards, Sales TEIN U.S.A. Inc. 9798 Firestone Blvd. Downey, CA. 90241 Tel...

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

Without the collar, the boot never compresses, it will just slide up and down the shock and the bottom of the boot is completely exposed to water and dust. After sealing the bottom of the boot with weather stripping and hose clamps, I noticed that compressing the shock by hand caused air...

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

Yes, I’m only using the top third of the bump stop. I was using the bottom third previously, but I found that the wide top third fits snug to the top of the hat so it keeps the dust boot in place. I ended up wrapping the strut with a weather stripping and squeezed the dust boot around it. It...

Tein EnduraPro Plus adjustable shock absorbers fitted

just wanted to add my input. I’ve got a 2023 MYLR with “comfort” suspension. I’ve only changed the rears so far with 12 clicks on the Endurapro and using the stock springs. The ride is 5 times smoother, I’m so glad I did the upgrade. Instead of of installing the dust boot upside down, I decided...
