Three Year Lookback - Model 3 LR 2021

Great review. Hope you enjoy the Highland as much as we are.

Intelligent Octopus Go - Gas Options

Interesting thread. Hopefully a few more who have experience of Tracker costs over winter might post their experience and cost comparison with Octopus Flexible. Reading through the link @spdpsba kindly provided it's notable that you have to have a working (gas) smart meter - the emphasis being...

    Repair experience, Fylde Coast ARC

My experience as well. I recently raised a query with them and their explanation went way beyond what I expected and gave me great confidence that they really do want to achieve a high level of service.

    Model 3 Highland Steering Issues

Perhaps have a look at these? I had this issue and arranged a service appointment but later cancelled it. Only really initially noticed vibration on very smooth tarmac at 70mph. On a subsequent drive on the same road it seemed barely noticeable so I cancelled the appointment. I now think it...

    So… Highland is out…

These views are just a short term snapshot. We are in a high interest world which Musk rightly predicted would impact sales. Last year M3 sales dropped off because of the imminent refresh and this year will be just the same with many waiting for the MY Juniper. No finance incentives yet for the...

    Squeaky Brakes - Normal?

Post back if that improves things? Mine seems more like a loudly squeaking linkage rather than a brake pads on disc sound though.
  7. R

    Squeaky Brakes - Normal?

Mine are the same. M3H collected 2 Feb. Only squeak very occasionally at very low speed. Probably needs a service appointment but not worth the effort at the moment. Tried braking hard to bed them in but I'm not sure whether the noise is from the inside or outside.

2024 Highland Model 3 - time for some accessories?

Yeslak mats arrived yesterday and fit very well. Carpet inserts just help to improve the overall appearance and practicality. Also fitted the boot sill protector which again is excellent. Ordered on 27th February and arrived from China on 8th March with good communication. Had to ask for...

2024 Highland Model 3 - time for some accessories?

Having started this thread I thought I'd follow up on a couple of purchases. On the recommendation of others I bought the boot and trunk mat set, pedal upgrades and armrest insert from Tessories UK. Very reasonably priced compared to other sites and all excellent quality. I couldn't fit the...

2024 Highland with 19"Nova wheels - checking & changing tyre pressures

2024 Highland with 19"Nova wheels - checking & changing tyre pressures

Couple of things Firstly, with the 19" Nova wheels I can get my tyre pressure gauges onto the valve but none of my inflator nozzles will fit because the black aero trim hasn't got a large enough hole. So either the trim will have to come off or I'll have to find some sort of extension piece to...

2024 Highland Model 3 - time for some accessories?

Bought boot mats/liners, boot storage bins, pedal covers and an armrest storage bin from Tessories. All good quality at a reasonable price and fast dispatch with good communication (failed to watch the video about fitting the pedal covers!).

After purchase when can I start using the Tesla charging network

I used mine straight after picking up at Trafford Park, Manchester. Came with less than 50% charge and they give you 100 free supercharger miles because they are not allowed to ship with more than a 50% charge.

[UK] 2024 Order to Delivery discussion

You might find the next time you plug it in it will start charging immediately even if is during a peak period. Octopus will either stop it and then give a charge schedule or continue and then give a charge schedule which starts from the time you plugged it in. At least that's how I think it...

[UK] 2024 Order to Delivery discussion

My test went OK and Intelligent Go has worked really well - came back yesterday evening with 10% battery and it gave me a 13 hours schedule offpeak - very impressed. I have a dumb 3.7kw Polar wall charger and I have turned off all schedule settings on the Tesla app apart from setting charge...

They certainly seem to be a good price. Are you happy with the quality?

2024 Highland Model 3 - time for some accessories?

Has anyone bought any boot or floor mats yet or can say whether mats for the previous model fit the Highland? The boot is slightly different but it would be good to know a bit more.

    So… Highland is out…

Your points are well made and you are right about the 99% aspect. But arguably that 1% situation could equally apply to incorrect or lack of signalling with stalks. There will always be potentially dangerous indication or lack of it in certain roundabout situations whichever system is used...

    So… Highland is out…

Personally I found your reply to me pretty insulting. I have no need to justify my purchase to you or to anyone else. I was simply trying to post a reply which might have been helpful to anyone who hasn't experienced the new Highland and has been influenced by the negative comments from folk...

    So… Highland is out…

So have you actually driven one yet? I've done a couple of hundred miles in mine now and buttons are already almost insinctive now and it will only get better. The "problems" with indication have had so had so much adverse comment but the reality in use is quite different. I admit I was...

[UK] 2024 Order to Delivery discussion

That's a real shame - feel for you🙁. Picked mine up on Friday with same wheels and I've been concerned about kerbing having done it a couple of times with diamond cut alloys on my last car. I have been thinking about rim protectors and looking at Allygators which seem much better than the stick...

    2024 Insurance Costs

I used Confused via Topcashback which gave my best (Hastings) quote with about £35 cashback on top. A friend also got his cheapest Tesla insurance via Topcashback.

Just a follow up on this. I've sent a couple of messages using their website contact page and had zero response.

[UK] 2024 Order to Delivery discussion

Due to collect mine on Friday but couldn't resist the offer of a test drive today. Possibly like others I had a certain apprehension about the lack of stalks but even on a short 30 minute drive I was pleasantly surprised that using the indicators was quite straightforward and worked well. Same...

Picking up my LR Stealth Grey with 19" Nova wheels on 2nd Feb from Trafford Centre, Manchester. Any idea what level of charge I might expect to at least get back home?

2024 Highland Model 3 - time for some accessories?

The Taptes website looks good but it's got very poor reviews on Trustpilot. There's a full mat set on Amazon but it would have been good to hear from anyone who has bought direct.

2024 Highland Model 3 - time for some accessories?

Now that Titus has docked in Southampton and we are looking forward to getting our new cars soon how about sharing some thoughts on accessories? There will be some who already have a Tesla and will have experience with the various offers and brands they have used. These seem to be pretty good...

    2024 Insurance Costs

I think many of us are in the same position. I have over 30 years without a claim but it's probably capped at 9 years now. LV= used to limit any discount to 9 years anyway so if other insurers aren't recognising anything beyond that it's probably academic nowadays. Insurance nowadays is just a...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Thank you both @zoros and @browellm for the OP - really helpful and reassuring now I understand the process. Should have read the OP more carefully 🤔😂 I now think that despite the charger only being 3.7 Kw unless I really need a full charge the day after, even a single 6 hour charge should...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Thanks for this. Will update on the new car eventually. So just to be clear, if I plugged in at 6pm I would definitely get the 6 hour overnight schedule but could get more, either from 6pm to midnight or after the 11:30 to 5:30am has finished? Just want to be sure that with IO, coming back with...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Assuming you arrived back home at 6pm but needed the car the next day for some limited local mileage, would IO definitely give you, as a minimum, the 6 hour overnight charging slot that you would have got if you, rather than Octopus were controlling the charging? I'm due to get my M3 LR...

    Model 3 Highland Insurance

When you rang did you get the option to put the original online quote reference into the pinpad on your phone? If you went through Topcashback to Confused the quote only lasts for that day anyway so unless you ring immediately after using that quote reference you are back to square one anyway...

    Model 3 Highland Insurance

That's pretty good. Mine was £615 with Hastings with EU driving. However some context. Age 75 & retired, only 6k miles, kept on the drive but £500 voluntary excess and £500 compulsory with no NCD protection. I would have gone to £1k voluntary but even where it was a possible option it didn't...

    So… Highland is out…

That's good to hear. I watched a recent YT video of a guy in Portugal with a new Highland who managed to kerb both nearside and offside wheels whilst parallel parking so perhaps rushing it whilst trying to video record and commentate.?
  38. R

    So… Highland is out…

As someone who is still waiting for my Tesla does the nearside mirror let you see the rear wheel and kerb when dipped in reverse?

Do you feel lucky? Could be an interesting discussion one day 😂🤣

    Model 3 Highland Insurance

I had the same issue because it wouldn't recognise the registration. I think the problem you had was because the Hastings agent gave you a separate manual quote which was always going to be more expensive. When I rang I got the option to input the online quote reference and all the agent did was...

    So… Highland is out…

The M3H Long Range is supposed to have 17 speakers now including 2 subs and 2 amps. Range apart I might have gone for the RWD and then gone down the upgrade route. The problem nowadays though is insurance, particularly for EVs. Anything non-standard now that might be considered a modification...

    Model 3 Highland Insurance

Best quote I got was Confused through Topcashback - Hastings. Direct Line site is a bit of a nightmare and wouldn't seem to often complete or hold a quote. Kept increasing each time you reviewed because we hadn't got confirmed registrations or dates. DL even more expensive going through Tesla UK...

    Highland - EDD and deliveries

If TITUS holds 7000+cars and assuming the majority of them are for the UK, imagine the logistics of arranging transport around the country. Hundreds of journeys.
  44. R

    Model 3 Highland Insurance

Another thought. I've been looking at the comparison sites and also Direct Line. Just wondered if Direct Line are any better cheaper going through the Tesla link.

    Model 3 Highland Insurance

On the shipping thread there are now a lot of posts about delivery and collection dates. Have you got a confirmed date and have you now arranged insurance in advance for that day? Im in West Yorkshire and have a collection date from Manchester for 2nd February.
  46. R

    2023 Shipping Movements

Had a text earlier to say home delivery (West Yorkshire) on 5th February. Earliest collection they can do is 2nd from Manchester. If TITUS is docking early on 17th January it sounds a long time until 2nd (they say it would arrive on 1st). Anyone else getting similar or even earlier dates for...

    So… Highland is out…

Here's my wish for 2024. Tesla have listened to criticism of buttons on the Highland and change them to larger haptic buttons either side of the steering wheel for the Juniper MY refresh. Then offer it as a heavily discounted retrofit for us Highland early adopters😊
  48. R

    So… Highland is out…

That was exactly my thinking. I'm hoping that on the very few occasions when the buttons arent working in a roundabout situation it will just be a small failing in the bigger ownership picture, and in the same context as phantom braking and windscreen wiping.
  49. R

    So… Highland is out…

That's fair enough if it was multiple lane on exit although as you cross from right to left to exit you are going to be changing lane twice so signalling is vital and you still have the risk of someone to your left not seeing your signalling if alongside or just behind to your left. I don't see...
