Is it normal to have the sound of water shifting over my left shoulder while driving an S? It’s not all the time, but I can hear it from time to time.

Got the wind reduction kit and the thing didn’t stay in the groove for me. Kept popping out. Gonna return it.

Had the same issue. Wife said the same. I thought the same. That said, she wasn’t wrong - I changed my order to Plaid and couldn’t be happier. Would have regretted the LR and Plaid was only 15k more.

I haven’t noticed any difference in ride quality or efficiency decreasing. There’s a video on YouTube of a guy who tested these exact covers and no range differences.

Strange that in the video he says 3 times not to buy this if you don’t have wind noise…as if it’s a solution but could cause an issue if you don’t have the problem to begin with?

I have a service appointment to bring in my Model S on Saturday morning after the mobile guy couldn’t fix the rear passenger door from closing inconsistently. Saying they’ll need to replace the hinges, but this thread has me debating even going in.

Really making me question bringing mine to the service center to fix the door that doesn’t close well.

Does this strike you as one of those situations where I should just leave it alone because the service center could make it worse? Or take it in?

If it was just the top of the door not being flush I’d agree, unfortunately I can’t shut the door without slamming it hard.

They tried the latch adjustment but it didn’t work - he thinks it’s the hinges and they’ll need to be replaced in the shop.

We got the EXACT same car…in Austin. Maybe I’ll see you out there on the road. I have service coming out today for the rear passenger door alignment. It’s protruding out and isn’t closing right.

Tint just makes this car!

Yep, they said it was normal and actually built to allow this. They don’t seal them all the way (no clue why).

Pickup tomorrow and I’ve got a ton of anxiety - this thread has me excited, but also stressing about how particular I should be at delivery and what’s a decline or accept.

My delivery is tomorrow - they’re telling me to pay, I’m not going to until I see it and will send via Plaid in the moment.

Was supposed to take delivery this morning at 11am, but got a call from Tesla last night saying my temporary plates hadn’t come in yet. Had to delay until Thursday.

Dang, my GEICO policy wasn’t terrible at all. Insured the Plaid for a little over $100 a month.

What’s the tint situation on Model S out of the factory? Do the front 2 windows or windshield have anything? Understood that it was just the back 2 with some tint off the line…

Does the Model S still get delivered with the front license plate holder? I’m thinking of removing it and live in Texas…roll of the dice.

I’ve always thought the ambient lighting in Teslas was cheap and lame. Kinda glad I’m likely to miss it when I pickup my S Plaid on Tuesday.

I’m half way in - so far, dude is nit picky but mostly says “not bad”. We’re talking literal mm differences that he is saying are terrible. Wish people would do the same to other car manufacturers.

My build date was March 2nd with delivery a week from today on 3/19…pretty sure I’ll miss the upgrades. I need a car though so will accept unless there’s something egregious in my walk around.

I really don't see the Model 3 and Model S as comparable - let alone this new "performance" vs. the Model S Plaid. Night and day to me. Would always go S over the 3.

What would you say this is equivalent to in gas dollars?

Did your have the PPF on the fenders in front of the back tires from the factory?

I've just sent a text in the app and they are quick to respond with the build date.

My LR had a build date of 2/28, the Plaid I switched to is March 2nd. Here is to hoping the line change happened to start March on the new upgrades!

When I swapped to the Plaid my estimated delivery window didn’t change (3/12-3/19)…while in the store the guy showed me his screen and it said “estimated arrival 3/14”…so I’m guessing they’ll need a couple days to clean it up and I’ll get my car that weekend.

Love it - my wife had a role in my decision as well, but less active. I actually bought a plaid badge from TSportline and she opened the package when it came and looked at me skeptically and said “wait, you’re not gonna put that on the slower one right?” Called me on my BS…lol

Yep, I actually just checked and it’s less - out the door price is $102,302 (minus the $250 order fee I already paid)…so it’s gonna be about $15,800 more.

Model S Plaid - Ultra Red, White interior, 19” Wheels, steering wheel. After much back and forth and internal debate - I decided to call corporate and ask what the deal was with the inbound Plaid and what it would take to switch to it. She said it was inbound, likely same truck as my LR...

Remember to consider the tax implications of having a trade in lower the baseline for the new car…along with the time investment required to sell private

Just stopped in the Austin store - they said the Plaid is on the same truck as my LR, both en route. Guy said it would cost me $250 to switch. I think LR is the play in that case because my gut was like F that…if I cancelled my order instead of swap I’d just wait until I could get the front...

I have, but I just like the S more. It’s been my Tesla of choice for 8+ years and never changed no matter what they come out with. i like the Highland, but willing to pay a premium for the S.
