RWD is loghter and so is more range-efficient. Someone who owns both 2023 RWD and AWD had said they get pretty the same range in both. The 2023.RWD charges.fast becaue of the software limited M3 LR battery.

I have a MY RWD ordered but honestly having cold feet thereafter. I am very concerned about the range for in the longer term. In 5 or 6 years I dont want to make a bunch of charging stops when I go to a neighboring city.

I dont think the range will be acceptable in 7 to 8 years. I generally keep my car for many years. Hopefully there will be a good battery solution for EV owners by then.
