Tesla's Supercharger Team was recently laid off. We discuss what this means for the company on today's TMC Podcast streaming live at 1PM PDT. You can watch on X or on YouTube where you can participate in the live chat.
I once heard heated garages during wintertime rusts out cars (and other metal objects) faster by raising humidity levels and causing condensation.
Edit
So I'm thinking of upgrading my receptacle to an industrial grade one so it can more handle the abuse of things being plugged/unplugged.
I have two receptacles on the circuit with the GFCI button one not being the receptacle i plug the car into...
I think 14 is a bad idea. I have a 25 foot 10 gauge and even that makes me nervous. You have both a length and width issue.
My Mobile connector has to stretch to the max (as in clotheslining with wire strain) to reach my car at the nearest point i can park it...that's why i'm forced to use an...
I'm sure the main reason they warn you is because there is no way to stop morons from using $2 16 gauge extension cords which will cause a fire.
I actually have a 10 gauge not 12. I'll rewrite the post. 10 gauge is way thicker than the wiring that goes from your electrical box to the 120v outlet.
So you have the same concerns I did when seeing those holes and then thinking about all that could go wrong having an expensive unit exposed to the elements.
If you are using the standard 3 prong adapter:
1) Buy a super short 10 foot 10 gauge cord like this one on...
Can't guarantee all countries have that.
Yes, this is about gathering data nobody else has.
Depends upon the local speed. It may not necessarily be as small as you think. Obviously for FSD training the cameras are uploading clips from cars and I can also watch youtube easily all day on my...
Not sure if this has been discussed before (I'm sure it has)
But let's just watch the first few seconds of this Figure AI robot demo for a sec and then think about what Tesla may add to the car by leveraging a "a realtime Tesla camera swarm" in a similar way.
But instead of you asking the...
I'm sure the non-North American Tesla owners on here would love to strangle us on some of the gripes they constantly read considering they get to experience nothing.
I can imagine their murmurings..."the car drives too close to the curb in turns..is that it..those #$%# Americans"
Tell that to the sell-out management who took the buyout money and ran.
So whose happiness interests do you think were they looking out for...somehow for some reason you think they put the average worker's happiness first....
Hmm...I doubt they need thousands of LiDAR test cars.
Maybe they anticipate some governments requiring Robotaxis to have a secondary backup driving system.
If personality was a requirement nobody would be buying iPhones back in the Steve Jobs days.
My ex-boss used to report directly to him and said he was an insanely temperamental guy.
Also I once learned when working for a financial firm with a hot-headed Portfolio Manager.
To his boss
Me: Why do...
Sadly the reveal will probably be it was released in China before the US. :(
This is from the CCP's own mouthpiece...

Good 'ole Cambridge...why am I not surprised with this new announcement..

I would assume it would as it is paranoid about every other thing that involves recharging.
Slightly cold outside...you get that "Regen disabled" icon until the batteries warm up even if they say 50%.
I don't think think there is a hidden part. They just use a battery slightly larger than the reported specs. So when you charge it to 100% it is actually charged in the 90s somewhere. Think of it as a 6GHz CPU intentionally underclocked to 5.5GHz for a laptop to make sure it doesn't overheat...
It's a similar situation as the rent-a-bike market. Tons of bicycles piled up with no users so I think they ended up sold dirt cheap overseas to bike sharing companies
Drone footage shows thousands of bicycles abandoned in China as bike sharing reaches saturation
BTW Yes I know "capacity"...
Plus if anybody thinks any of the big 3 are going to do anything to challenge Chinese EVs I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you...
At least he is keeping hope alive for having any American car manufacturers left by 2035 instead of the CEO morons running the other shows who think EVs are a...
Personally I'd still try and stick with an AWD version but I'm in the snowbelt so I'm biased.
It may even help with tire wear by redistributing the force.
This pic says it all
I'm not saying the Model 3 is a Mazda Miata but the Y is certainly not small. This is more than just a different rear cargo area. As i said before I whacked my head on the 3's door frame when I tried to get in the back seat. I'll take the extra room over the performance...
Read, understand, and fill in the paperwork for that mor-ev discount carefully before buying the Tesla.
I didn't get my $3500 Massachusetts rebate because I didn't file everything within 90 days of purchase because I thought it worked the same way as the $7,500 Federal deduction at tax time. I...
I wouldn't be so quick to write it off. It's doing a really good job in my area.
It seems to like densely settled areas more than wide open areas.
Some youtube videos show mistakes in non-complicated scenarios in places with wide 3 lane streets...meanwhile I'm driving in one lane narrow city...
Well they discontinued giving out fobs as part of the standard equipment and tell people to download the Tesla app when you pickup your car.
The doors open automatically when you are nearby using bluetooth when it auto-detects your phone in your pocket.
If you are looking for speed then buy a 3. If you are looking for space buy a Y.
I found the 3 simply too small. I actually hit my head on the door frame while casually trying to get into the back seat.
Look at the cars when parked next to each other and you'll see the difference.

I'm suddenly starting to get phantom braking in 12.3.4. Had 3 instances today. Had 2 yesterday. Never noticed it before.
Seems to be more wary driving at dusk. Maybe long shadows spooking it.
It's too expensive...even Huawei gave up...and they had widespread 5G map streaming. Sounds like this was a dead-end and Tesla was correct to focus on vision while others wasted time with it...
This guy in NYC in heavy traffic
FSD V12 handles nightmare road conditions! Catch the big show on Fifth Avenue in New York, 30 minutes, 0 intervention
Remember everybody V12 "nowhere close to being ready" for robotaxis...
BTW what's up with all the bicycle rickshas...and no I'm not Chinese
That's terrible.
For another type of problem people should think about enabling "Driver's Door Unlock Mode" and making sure "Unlock on Park" is disabled.
I have had people run up and try to open the trunk or a passenger door while I'm sitting in the car waiting for somebody.
You feel the car...

They have to get FSD working because they need some unique "shtick" to differentiate themselves from Chinese EV makers that are currently racing to the bottom with prices. They aren't going to survive on brand name alone. The US is only 33% of their market.
