    Self-referral benefits

Hi Todd, I just did the same thing, and asked the Sales advisor if I could get both the referral and customer rewards if I sent myself the code. I was told I only get the customer reward, so I used a code from a friend who also has a Tesla. I don't need the 3 months of FSD because I am...

Looking for delivery inspection checklist for Model Y to be picked up in Lynwood, WA

I just received delivery appointment for Wed, Aug 16, 2023 for a new Model Y LR AWD that I ordered on Aug 7,2023. I am in the process of having FSD transferred from our 2018 Model 3. I have never been to the Lynwood Service center, and am concerned that the appointment is only 15 minutes long...

    Order Process for FSD Transfer

Does that mean if your delivery date is after September 30, 2023 you can refuse delivery and cancel the order? I am thinking about buying a new Model Y LR and selling or trading in my 2018 Model 3 LR AWD w/ FSD. When I bought the M3 in October, 2018, I was charged $5000 for advanced Autopilot...

Range differences with Pilot Sport All Season 4 or CrossClimate2 vs Primacy MXM4

Excellent Question. Pretty soon I wilI need to replace my Primacy MXM4 OEM tires on my 2018 AWD Long Range, and am hoping these Michelin EV tires will be available before I have to decide between the PS AS4, PS 4S, and the unavailable Primacy MXM4's.

Is Tesla service deteriorating as they scale??

I recently had a terrible experience with Tesla Customer Service trying to get supercharging "privileges" restored for my wife's Model 3 after her credit card was improperly declined by Tesla for a $5.68 charge because Tesla had failed to update their Visa vendor charge processing software after...

    Supercharger - Blaine, WA

Big Earl: Thanks for clearing that up - you were right. The $4.86 was from my last charge in August at a different Supercharger. Apparently you get free charging at a new charger location until it gets added into the system map?

    Supercharger - Blaine, WA

I stopped by to try a test charge on Saturday, and was surprised when a $4.86 charge appeared immediately after I plugged in (see photo in the link below) - is Tesla starting to impose a $4.86 minimum charge price to discourage us from topping off at a supercharger??? If so, I am not happy...

Rim protection idea against curb rash (Aero wheels only...)

I am finally convinced that the Model 3 has a design flaw that every new owner should be made aware of when they are first introduced to their bright shiny new car - the car has a longer wheelbase than normal and requires a wider turning radius on the passenger side than a normal sedan. This is...

    Autopilot worse after latest Update

archon810 - I also have 2.5 hardware on a Oct 2018 Model 3 AWD ER. I have also noticed the very erratic behavior since last update. Our old 2015 Model S 85D with AP 1.0 hardware drives much smoother and has far less jerking and lane wandering. Hope they fix this soon as my wife doesn't like...

Rim protection idea against curb rash (Aero wheels only...)

@R1Fast Thank you so much for your feedback!! I sort of suspected your comments would be the case for most of the options I have been reading reviews on. I am still intrigued by this particular AlloyGator solution after watching the installation video that I provided as a link in my original...

Rim protection idea against curb rash (Aero wheels only...)

@gaswalla. Sadly the Aero wheel covers won't protect the alloy wheel rim which protrudes out farther than the plastic wheel cover. I already discovered that when my wife damaged both wheels on the passenger side while cutting a right turn too close in a parking lot.

Rim protection idea against curb rash (Aero wheels only...)

I was doing research on this problem also. I am wondering if anyone has tried these British AlloyGator vinyl alloy wheel edge protectors. After watching this installation video, I am thinking this might be a good investment, but am wondering if there are any issues associated with installing...

Road Trip and Route Planning Info

@lenscap Thank you for the great advice! The M3 is AWD (as is our older MS), but I agree the snow tires definitely make a huge difference driving on ice, and especially for maintaining control when using regeneration for braking. After reading your comments, I am thinking we should rethink the...

Road Trip and Route Planning Info

We are thinking about taking a road trip this March down the pacific coast on Hwy 101 from Washington to San Francisco and then on Hwy 1 to southern California, and then heading east to Palm Desert and Las Vegas, and then Route 93 to Kingman, AZ, then along Route 66 until we get to Albuquerque...

Hi breser, Apparently my DS thinks so also - in fact he suggested I go ahead and schedule an appointment with Midnight Window Tinting in Bellevue to have the 1/2 wrap Xpel Ultimate PPF and Huper Optic window tint installed next Tuesday, March 24th. If that actually happens, I may still get to...

80878: "The Tesla Factory is building your Model S" Last week my VIN got changed from 73368 to 80878, so I basically gave up watching status on MyTelsa. Today I got an email from my DS that says my car has finally entered production, and the estimated delivery date of Late March has...

xpel wrapping vs. periodic maintenance / detailing

Hi Alysashely79, I am hoping for delivery on a red S85D by the end of the month (was supposed to enter production last week, but still hasn't) and am planning to have Huper Optic window tinting and some type of PPF (3M or XPEL) applied to just the front half (hood, fenders, bumper, mirrors)...

    Official: Model S Service Plans

Breser, Thank you so much for moving my question regarding pros and cons of getting annual service to the proper thread - don't know how I missed it. I have only read backwards as far as your report above, and thus far I have read nothing that persuades me that getting annual service (either...

Annual Service Pros and Cons?? I hope this question isn't too far off topic for this thread, but I couldn't locate a thread that is more appropriate to ask it in. When I hopefully pick up my 85D later this month in Seattle, I assume I will need to decide if I want to sign up for the 4 year...

Hi ethanr, I hope your DS is right, and that is actually the case. The week before last my DS told me the same thing, but when it didn't actually happen last week, he admitted that his information was based on what his clients have experienced historically - he now claims he has no real...
