Thinking about joining legal action on recent massive price cut

Well, thank you guys and gals for honest feedback. I should've put (unpopular opinion), (putting triple layered flame suits) into the post. Wrong place to ask I suppose. Should've went to Porsche forum.

Thinking about joining legal action on recent massive price cut

With the recent major price reduction, I feel like I'm hit with the penalty for being a few months earlier adopter. Not sure if I'd line up at the stores overnight or put reservation money. I bet many of you, the loan balance is higher than how much you can buy the cars right now. Even with...

Rear ended.. minor damage but don’t know what to do

I've had minor bumper repaired by a mobile bumper repair guy. It was not a Tesla but the paint was hard to match. He first asked for paint code then came back with the exact paint. It cost me 300 last year and result was 95% good - you couldn't tell it was repaired unless you shine real hard...

Do you notice your interior mirror dim at night?

I asked the SC specialists a couple of times, they both told me the same thing that there will be software update so we're not touching the mirrors at this point. I don't know how though, technically you can adjust the amount of darkening? On the center mirror, I see no difference between the...

Do you notice your interior mirror dim at night?

Ever since delivery our car doesn't seem to dim its center mirror at night. Side mirrors do and it's very noticeable. I pinged local SC and they told me center mirror dimming level is set to 'mild' level, and later to be adjustable via software update. I'm thinking our center mirror dimming...

Model 3 Rear Ended: Repair Journey

Our S had similar damages to OP, sightly worse as the bumper had noticeable crease. Tesla policy last year was to reuse the parts as much as you can, to reduce wait time. I wouldn't be surprised if model 3 had the same reuse policy. A certified body shop should be able to bring that back to...

Not getting paint protection film for your Model 3?

If a complete wrap costs $500 then most everyone spends 50k on a car will get it. But to me PPF is too expensive. Locally costs 2000 on front. I understand it's very labor intensive (watch PPF on YouTube) and films aren't cheap either, but I keep comparing to films on phones... The real...

    Driver's Seat Squeaks

Does yours rub against center console? If so SC can adjust it to not to touch. Our S seat was rubbing against center console and SC was able to adjust them. I had no idea you can adjust seats left-right direction.

Not getting paint protection film for your Model 3?

Just like our previous S, our 3 has soft paint and Tesla still continues to have poor paint quality. I'm too cheap to spend ~2k on front clip PPF, but the front bumper is so prone to rock/bugs due to its aerodynamic design. It's been 4weeks since we started to drive and I noticed a few rock...

California VINs: are you still waiting?

2/14, no vin, 20min to Fremont. I wouldn't rule out the possible claim, the number of cars 'en route' to customers at the time of earnings report, as they mentioned last time. They already took our deposit, so they can claim that those cars are already accounted for and 'made' -despite PDI not...

Model 3 problems at delivery - poll

The poll should include post delivery failures as well. There are things you'd never notice during 5-minute walkthrough. For us, 1) heater not working at all, 2) rear view mirror not dimming (told firmware issue), and 3) charge port door failure message. The delivery itself was okay but I felt...

Can I ride in your car?

There's also Turo, if you want to test drive the car right away. This way you don't have a passenger/owner sitting next to you and you can spend all day trying to make your decisions...

Can I ride in your car?

I'm in peninsula, if you still haven't had a chance to try by the time I get mine, I don't mind arranging for a meet up. But why wonder on PUP or non-PUP, most likely by the time you're able to order non-PUP the EV credit would be gone. For us, PUP is worth it, because the car looks pretty basic...

    Delivery Problems

For us, so far: Heater dead on arrival (fixed after a week at SC) Constant "charge door needs service" message. (SC removed it once, now it's back) Rear view mirror not dimming at night Blank screen while driving (restart worked) Screen with matrix lines (restart worked) Even then, this is an...

How many forum members have their car? And how many have had the car taken to the Service Center?

Probably need to go in 2nd time for non-dimming rear view cabin mirror and charger door needs service message. Charging door still works.

Model S to model 3 regret?

In terms of the size in the US it depends on area and personal preference. I'm 20min from HQ but some parking spots are tight in San Jose. I've never had problems street parking the S being too long, but width was the issue sometimes on strip mall lots. Didn't feel comfortable parking next to a...

Model S to model 3 regret?

No regrets. Yes 3 is bumpy but it's livable. To me it's a hair bumpier than coil S. It fits 3s character better with the tight handling. Model S is a little too big to park and in garage for me. It's handful and feels heavy. With air, model S is more comfortable but it doesn't have the sporty...

    Heater DOA

Just FYI, your delivery experience might also be really rushed if you have late appointments. We felt like we're holding the workers so it was assumed that we sign papers right away. They didn't really have any cars to deliver, but I think people are trained to deliver quickly for next 400k...

    Heater DOA

Update- I was told a tech found loose wire around heater, and they're ordering new part. So it wasn't heater core itself. Regardless, we are kind of bummed to have delayed delivery. 7 weeks. Let's just hope they don't scratch that black center console putting them together.

Putting down payment now on second model 3

We're also going for the second. It may take forever but we liked our M3 so much and I can't think of any other ICE car that matches with the space and nimbleness. It became our little SUV now. It feels spacious to us and fast like a top trim sedan. Didn't feel this way with the S since miles...

    Model 3's Ride Quality

I'm reporting back my experience here at 5XXX (for brief moment we had it in our garage) the ride is firm but I'd say less firm than BMW with sport or M packages. Those are much more punishing on SF 101. It passed spouse and baby in the back seat test, although she said it's bumpy at rough...

    Heater DOA

Huh, I guess I wasn't the first one to threaten PR on the SC. One reason why decided to post is that Palo Alto SC admin tried to blow me off by saying there's no slot available this week. You just don't do that to a family who just received their dream car yesterday, after being patient for 6...

    Heater DOA

We finally picked up ours after 1hr on Uber traffic last night. Only two of 3s were getting delivered at the time. No swags, no extra lightning cables, we're ushered to go on our way as they're closing. Which is okay since they can't go red carpet on 400k more people I suppose. On the way...

    VIN... VIN... Where's My VIN...?

I'm in the same boat of frustration, the ISA based in NV sounds new to this job (obviously) and doesn't give a lot of information. In fact, I wasn't assigned ISA until week 3 then he pretend knew absolutely nothing. There's quite a bit of holding horses going on. This multiple week wait would...

    Scary Delivery Process

Why negative? Because I sense that Tesla is rushing, and they clearly don't have their act together. At least on their M3 call center and that gives me the impression other parts of M3 must be chaos too. And us fangirls/boys are somewhat patient since we went through on S and X. But not your...

    Scary Delivery Process

Got a phone call from NV, After complaining to them while their server was down. Still no vin, this ISA is supposed to email me more details in this week. Let's see if that actually happens. I have a feeling they finally reached out to me since I complained, and 'remembered' I had an order. My...

    Scary Delivery Process

Not sure if I'm on the same boat, but I got no vin# for Dec 22nd invite. And I'm pretty close to Fremont. This is frustrating while trying to figure out over 50k on purchase. It's not 100k but 50k is still not chump change for me. I keep getting blown off by the Tesla over the phone 'a DS will...

    Model 3's Ride Quality

Can any 3 owners chime in if the 3 passes the 'baby and spouse in the back seat' test? I plan to use 3 for 1.5 hr trips instead of paying 25 dollars on gas every weekend. I really hope that 3 is not too sporty that back seat passenger would start complaining and crying. Our 19" S with air...

[POLL] Do you care about Telsa's headliner material change?

On Tesla, early adopters usually get less of a car for the same price, as Tesla keeps including more features. This time around, it seems the early adopters got better headliner. Not that we were able to buy 3 any earlier though. I personally think suade like material looks more premium on...

    VIN Assignment

After reading reports 'only took 8 days since ordered!' I got anxious and I called the generic Tesla line today since it's been two weeks but no Vin#. Mine is in Fremont. I was told my DS is supposed to reach me but he hasn't yet. Looking at the list of invites on the Google doc, I seem to be...

    Model 3 Seat Material

Can anybody confirm the synthetic pleather wears better than early Model S leather interior? The quality of early Model S leather with upgraded recaro seats were horrible. It started wrinkling and cracking like a 5 year old car in 1yr. This aspect only, I did miss Audi/bmw leather seats...

Trading in Model S for a 3: Tesla-CPO candidate or Third Party?

I think my MS 70D AP1 would qualify for a CPO, but I vaguely understand you don't get top dollar trading in cars at Tesla stores. The cars people traded in might have been non-Teslas though. Would that be the case for CPO-candidate Teslas as well? I know people would value CPOs more than...

Why would you buy Model S over Model 3?

My thoughts exactly. This is why I want to let go of my MS before people start realizing that in the used car market. I only bought it since MS was the only long range good looking EV at that time. I bet people would describe MS and M3 is like MB S class and C class. But honestly I think MS is...

How long to hold onto current Model S/X before 'current owner' Model 3 delivery?

I have a S70D that I want to let go before I take delivery of LRM3, which supposedly available in Oct-Dec for me. My current kbb projection of the used value will be close to what I would pay for a M3. For CA taxes and fees, the nice $7.5k tax would cancel out in my calculation. I'm willing to...

What are the best arguments you've heard NOT to get a Tesla S/X/(3) ?

Ha, didn't consider the strong lease loops they do at the dealers. I do think Tesla leases are not very appealing. Paying high entrance plus high monthly fee makes me think of potential low resale value despite the news says = some uncertainty about the company. If the Teslas were truly strong...

What are the best arguments you've heard NOT to get a Tesla S/X/(3) ?

I'm not sure if this is the right branch here, but I keep wondering why people are still keep buying premium ICE cars. Do people seriously argue about not being able to drive ~400 miles in one tank on $80k~ cars? Do they really need to take their 650i on rock-chippy road trips? I have a slight...

Version 7.0 tried - Where Is Vehicle Hold? How to activate it?

Yup, pressing the brake pedal harder worked... It's a bit unnatural compared to EU cars features. I guess it's too new of the features to US so Tesla wants to make sure users know what they're doing.

Version 7.0 tried - Where Is Vehicle Hold? How to activate it?

Hi, I've been trying out 7.0 software since it came out yesterday. The autopilot is ok. It has tendency to stay away from concrete walls on 101, making the car right-sided on the carpool lane. Other than that, it's not bad for the first and I'm sure things improve over time with OTA. How do you...

Parking sensor going haywire - anybody else have the same problem?

I've been having front parking sensors going off at slow speeds when there are no objects nearby. It seems to happen when its hot (CA hot - 90f or so) after being parked. It's kind of embarrassing when guests are in the vehicle. A visit to SC updated the latest firmware, but the problem...

Project: Additonal Cup Holder For Driver

You'd have to 3d print something, or use bunch of velcro. I took apert the bmw cup holders to make them workable. I basically was looking for some flat surface, in this case the yacht floor to hold the cup holder in place. The E82 cup holders match the style of model s interior in my opinion

Project: Additonal Cup Holder For Driver

I just made this using two E82 1-series cup holders and pieces of plywood wrapped with leather. I probably made the wooden base too big. Next time I will probably raise the base 2 inches or so. Velclo'd to the yaucut floor. Will drive around tomorrow to see if it will hold with Boba and coffee.

    New tesla 70D owner!

My order seems to be finally out of the incommunicado, too (aka insulation supplier black hole) - the mytesla dashboard status changed from in production to "being prepared for pickup or delivery". I did also screw up / jumped gun on my part too..my bank funded the financing portion already, and I will be making payment as of next month. New tesla 70D owner!

I'm on the same boat here - my car entered 'in production' early May and my DS expected the delivery will be in Mid-may. It has been over two weeks and the status hasn't changed. My DS changed the tone of the voice from 'in a few days' to 'it is normal production takes 1-2 weeks', as if there is...
