Vendor Show Off Your Aftermarket Model Y Wheels

Ohlins if you want the best handling. MP if you want the best value and comfort. UPP would be my third choice, but this is just my personal opinion.

Vendor Show Off Your Aftermarket Model Y Wheels

Definitely needs coil overs or springs.

    Squeaky tire/wheel

I have this issue with my factory rims/tires.

    Alignment question

Got new shocks on my 23' MYP with 3k miles on it and got an alignment at the same time. The toe was out of whack on both the front and rear on the passenger side. Must have came like that from the factory.

Debating the switch to 18 inch wheels from the 20 inch inductions

Thats a huge exaggeration. You will never get an air ride feeling on this car, but it is a nice improvement from my comfort suspension. Even better improvement from the original suspension.

Tein EnduraPro Plus - Should I modify bump stop?

I've never tried the reds, but I hear they are tuned on the stiffer side, so probably not much improvement from the comfort suspension on my 2023. The Reifen Reber version that I mentioned are supposed to be more similar to the Model 3 Highland that people are raving about. FYI Koni has the...

Tein EnduraPro Plus - Should I modify bump stop?

You mean better ride quality? You're not the first person to say this about Koni reds. There is a better version of the reds, its a collaboration between Koni and a German company called Reifen Reber. Unfortunately it's hard to get a hold of in the US which is why I went with Tein.

Tein EnduraPro Plus - Should I modify bump stop?

I just had these installed. The installer trimmed the bottom third. I don't have any noise issues with them.

Vendor Unplugged Performance - Dual Rate Linear Lowering Springs for Model Y

Doubt it. I went through 4 sets on my Model 3 and all had it.

Supercharger - Paso Robles, CA - Riverside Ave. (LIVE 5 Apr 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Went back today. Still not visible in my GPS but the chargers worked, albeit very slow. I think I maxed out around 80kwh.

Supercharger - Paso Robles, CA - Riverside Ave. (LIVE 5 Apr 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Interesting, I just drove by there last night coming back from Fremont and it didn't show up on my GPS. Must have just turned on today.

Will Discount Tire sell an extended warranty on an OEM tire?

I got my MYP OEM tires warrantied in Dec, but they charged me $243.

    Koni Sport (yellow) installed!

i think I'll head up to ZEVcentric. It will be cheaper and they include an alignment.

Tein EnduraPro Clunk and Thump on Model Y

Right. I was thinking Flex Z Coilovers.
  17. amoney805

Tein EnduraPro Clunk and Thump on Model Y

Usually clunking is "spring slap". Are you sure the installer used the spring silencers?
  18. amoney805

    Koni Sport (yellow) installed!

Not far at all. I've been contemplating going to ZEVcentric in Fremont since they're a one stop shop but good to know about other options. Thanks!

Koni - Special Active (Red - Formerly FSD) and Sports (Yellow) - Coming Soon for Model 3 and Y

I've been emailing Reifen Reber and they do ship to US. I asked them about a group buy, just waiting to hear back from them.
  20. amoney805

Koni - Special Active (Red - Formerly FSD) and Sports (Yellow) - Coming Soon for Model 3 and Y

Are you able to get your hands on Special Active "Reifen Reber" variant. They are sold in germany and are an upgrade from US spec.
  21. amoney805

    Koni Sport (yellow) installed!

@SLOspeed I see you're local. Did you do the install yourself, or is there a shop you can recommend?
  22. amoney805

Koni - Special Active (Red - Formerly FSD) and Sports (Yellow) - Coming Soon for Model 3 and Y

Im not sure if my issues are suspension related or tire related. Probably both. I don't feel the suspension to be overly stiff in my MYP with comfort suspension, but I do feel every imperfection in the road, and jostling while going over large bumps. I hear going wider in the tires smooths out...

Supercharger - Paso Robles, CA - Riverside Ave. (LIVE 5 Apr 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Stopped there today and decided to test one out since there were a couple of stalls that weren't taped up. No dice.

Why you should skip the powered frunk and grab a Satonic soft close frunk

So TLDR: Hansshow is junk. So far my Tylard style is working well, but I'm also not using my frunk on the daily.

Is this acceptable for a stealth wrap?

Not in California. It's 5k minimum for the wrap alone.
  27. amoney805

Is this acceptable for a stealth wrap?

4k for the wrap. $350 for 4yr ceramic. Ended up being $4,619 OTD.
  28. amoney805

Is this acceptable for a stealth wrap?

Edit: I took my car to another shop for a second opinion. He said overall its a pretty good job, especially for what I paid for it. The seam you can only see when you're within a couple of feet so I'll learn to live with it. Thanks for the input.
  29. amoney805

Is this acceptable for a stealth wrap?

Well said, but i did question extensively about tucked and exposed edges and he assured me he makes every effort to "tuck where available". Never once mentioned an exposed seam across a panel. That would have been a non starter for me.

Is this acceptable for a stealth wrap?

I knew in advance he wouldn't be removing trim pieces like fenders, spoiler, and repeater camera. Those areas I can live with, but the two piece install on the trunk will bug me too much, and will probably trap dirt over time. I think ill stop at another shop and see if they're willing to fix...
  31. amoney805

Is this acceptable for a stealth wrap?

I got a hellavu "deal" getting my car PPF'd and ceramic coated, but I'm wondering if I got exactly what I paid for. Visible lines on the trunk of the car. Gap on the fender cams. Is this normal? Or does my guy not know what he's doing and taking short cuts?

Supercharger - Paso Robles, CA - Riverside Ave. (LIVE 5 Apr 2024, 8 V3 stalls)

Im predicting a lot of "icing" happening at this location.

Supercharger - Paso Robles, CA - Golden Hill Road (LIVE, 28 V3 stalls)

Its been weeks now and still no change. Stopped there last week expecting new mobile connectors for different makes but nothing. Its simply been turned off. And now Atascadero gets backed up.

MYP with 21" ÜBERTURBINE Wheels and Lift; Does anyone have this setup?

Just swap out your springs with a long range.
  37. amoney805

    Satonic Soft Close Frunk

I didnt install the "patch" although he recommends it. I still have no idea what it does. Seems to be working fine without it.
  38. amoney805

    TSportline wheels for Model Y

Ive been looking at the TS5 because i love the look and it will show off the red calipers better, but the heaviness of the uberturbines actually help with the ride quality. Something I need to consider.

    Homelink retrofit install failure

I followed this video and had zero issues. . Just follow the service menu section.

Why you should skip the powered frunk and grab a Satonic soft close frunk

Looks identical to the one I installed from KAIER on AE. Theyre probably all the same.
  41. amoney805

Why you should skip the powered frunk and grab a Satonic soft close frunk

Apparently V2 is IPX7 and can be completely submerged in water. Probably the better option going forward.
  42. amoney805

Why you should skip the powered frunk and grab a Satonic soft close frunk

In my case im hoping the cold weather hypothesis is correct since im not in a frozen climate, but hopefully you can email Satonic and get their thoughts on what the failure point was.
  43. amoney805

Supercharger - Paso Robles, CA - Golden Hill Road (LIVE, 28 V3 stalls)

Anyone know why it's been closed all week?
  44. amoney805

Why you should skip the powered frunk and grab a Satonic soft close frunk

Installed it today. Took less than 30 minutes. It's a little noisier than I would have liked, but even the oem frunk relase is a little jarring so its fitting. Also its advertised to have "anti-pinch" so it wont crush your fingers but I tested it with a folded up towel and it still closed it all...

    2023 After market suspension upgrade?

I dont even see Tesla as an option in Koni's drop down menu on their north american website.
