Caught this on social media in Mildura right near The Gateway and Dan Murphy's this week. Sure looks like the footings for a new supercharger location (edit: it was posted this week).

Asphalting is all complete and today a "Tesla Service" Model S was in attendance and they had the pedestals open and were working on them, maybe final checks and/or wiring? They also had some workers cleaning down the area (they'd left some mud and dirt in some of the non-Tesla parking bays).

Minor update not requiring a photo, the hole around the transformer foundation has been filled and packed and looks to be just waiting for an asphalt topper. In terms of earthworks that appears to be the final outstanding item. Probably now a long wait for Powercor to energise the transformer 🤣

The big hole explained. Currently being installed 1 x 2000kVA 22kV upgrade for the carpark 🤣

Bit more work done. Cable cabinet installed, lines painted, big hole dug and a bit of a mess made to one of the charge posts. It also looks like they ran extra conduits to allow for 3 more charger cabinets and you can see where they capped them in front of the existing 3.

Two of the cabinets say 3 outputs and the 3rd one says 4 outputs but otherwise the plates are identical (volts, amps, inputs/outputs etc.) and there does appear to be another cabinet coming to cap/route cables to the pedestals.

ahha! I just remembered my dashcam could see the cabinets. 3! 😅

The interesting thing about this location is that the staff from the medical centre directly opposite over the road would park right where these superchargers are as they are normally empty during the day because they are the furthest from the shopping centre. I will be intrigued to see if they...

I think it was 3? Could have been 2.. if no one gets to it sooner I'll be there again on Friday to confirm.

As someone who lives in the area and drives through and shops in Lucas almost every day, the growth in that area is staggering. It seems to never end, I think I have had to deal with road works due to new estates being developed for 5 solid years now without a break 😩

Yes large white cabinets are there right now, much larger than the ones at the other site. They are on a concrete section between the 2 pedestals off on their own and the group of 8 together, just to the right of my photo :rolleyes:

Watching a Tesla road trip video recently that someone was doing in the states and it showed them getting a code from the in car nav to open a barrier to gain access to Superchargers, it was a first for them too but seems to be the standard solution for paid/limited access locations.

I used the Geelong Jax (would have used Ballarat but they didn't have ready stock of the ST's at the time). They offered the wheel alignment but as I was going in for my airbag replacement I opted to get Tesla to do it as part of that visit.

I got a set of the Primacy fitted by Jax at 50,000kms for $1360, there was a $100 off for buying a full set as I recall.

Confirmed all 6 should be ready for when the 3's start rolling out.

Another pair upgraded today to support the model 3 (1a, 1b, 2a and 2b now done), caught the guys at the station doing the work. They've gone for lunch but if I catch them before they leave I'll ask about the final pair.

Maybe this is to get the coverage out and tested as quickly as possible for the M3 owners and not having to fit into Powercor (et. al.) schedules on grid connection upgrades? I can't imagine a lot of the sites have surplus electric capacity to go from 3*150kW to 6*250kW as quickly as Tesla can...

I've automated my wall charger using an ESP32 based IoT board so that I can squeeze every last Wh out of my solar and put it into my car: It'll dial in the charge rate to match my solar excess when I'm otherwise exporting and it also helps manage any excess power in my powerwall each morning...

QBE seem dodgy to me now, back in July this year coming up to my renewal they sent me this instead of a renewal: forcing me to find a new insurer (which turned out fine, RACV were cheaper with better options) but clearly they weren't honest and now I want to know why.
