Perhaps you can get some answers from your Tesla service centre? maybe if enough of us start asking about the rear camera they will fix it. I think it could be mainly software related. Tesla here in Australia are yet to reply, but 99% they will have no clue or care.

Update: according to Tesla all the cars come with the same front backing plate for the license plate and you can mount a normal size or slim size on there. When I get the car in a few weeks we'll see if it works..

You need to do some research on paint (aka clear coat) care and protection. I've owned black cars in the past and as long as you don't neglect the paint for months and months, or years.. it holds up fine. Also scratches - if you wash the car correctly you won't get too many scratches.

Don't be worried too about the interior I heard it holds up better after a few years. Also regarding trading in the car - are you referring to the Tesla Resale Value Guarantee? I don't think the year matters with that as it is based on a % of dollars spent only.
