We are due to be heading eastbound in a couple of weeks; I have my fingers crossed in doubles. This will make the Baton Rouge - Destin trip much easier.

    MCU Waiting Game

UPDATE: I did get word from the SC, and my appointment was last Thursday. The installation was quick, the service (at the New Orleans SC) was very good, and I am back up and running the roads again. Not that I'm going anywhere much, but at least, I can zip when I do!

    MCU Waiting Game

Greetings, All, On May 1, I notified Tesla that the MCU on my 2016 S was not functioning. I received an email from them, stating that they would let me know when the part would be available so that I could make an appointment to bring it in. They also stated that they would keep me updated...

    Tire Engineers Not Recommended

I was recommended to Tire Engineers by one of the Tesla rangers. He said that they use that location for all of their service work. I had had a previous bad experience with Tire Engineers, but decided to go for a consultation on two of my current tires that seemed to have more wear than they...

    Romance mode playlist?

I like the crackling fire sound. I tried the "Romance" playlist, and some of the songs are fine, but some remind me more of the "Sleasy Porn Theater" mode.

    Mounting EZPass under trunk vent?

Yep, we keep an ice chest up there, just in case we come across unexpected foodstuffs, and the EZ Pass is just wedged between it and the front carpeting. We haven't had a problem with it working, although we did discover that somehow, the clerk at the EZ Pass store had failed to actuate it, so...

Surviving on a regular 110v trickle charging

For the first several months that we owned our car, we just used the 110v. outlet. For overnight charging, it was never a problem for us. Bob Anyone else surviving on charging on a regular outlet?

    Mounting EZPass under trunk vent?

That looks just like the EzTags we use in Texas. I'd love for it to be in the frunk instead of on my window. I have one of those EZPass transponders that mount to the front plate. I keep mine in the frunk, and it does fine.

    Cooler for model 3?

That Igloo for my frunk is a part # 01716001. I looked on the Igloo site, and on Amazon, and they don't seem to show it anymore. Ido see that it was made in 2013, so it isn't as old as I thought. I think that I bought it at an Academy Sports store. height 13", depth 11", width 19".

    Cooler for model 3?

I'm in for the night, and I don't know if the spaces are similar in the Model 3 as compared to the Model S, but I have coolers in both spaces. I will check tomorrow morning, and get the models for you to test out. As I recall, in the frunk, there is an Igloo brand marine cooler that fits...

"Unknown Error" when trying to connect to car via app

It seems like I read that the Tesla server was going to be down in the middle of the night a couple of nights ago. I had the same problem, deleted and reinstalled the app, and it is doing fine for me now.

First Model 3 Spotted in the Wild

Advice needed - how exterminate rat in car??

On a similar note, (the note being disposal of critters), should you ever have a cockroach in your car, I have successfully done this: Drink a beer. Put the empty beer can on its side on the floorboard of your car. Let it sit there overnight. The next morning, go out to the car, open the...

    Model S Keychain

My OEM silicone key chain/holder is stretching out and does not hold the key the way it used to. I am worried I’ll lose my key. Mine was doing a similar thing. I took the key out, and washed the silicone part in hot water and Dawn detergent, and let it dry. When I put it back on, it was...

    Driving In Snow

And, of course, having so little snow, people here freak out at just the possibility of snow. Schools close, as do government offices, and the drivers, well, they start at a low point, and go down from there. I don't know what would happen if we got, say, a foot or more. We would all probably...

    Driving In Snow

Here in S. Louisiana, we really have no concept of what a winter tire is. I'm not being sarcastic or anything, we might get snow once every 5 years or so, and it only freezes about 5-10 times in the winter, and that is usually only dipping to 32 for a few hours. It is good to know, however...

    Driving In Snow

I have a 90D. It seemed like we were using more energy, but I knew that we were covered on that short of a trip no matter what. It was strange to see the Wh's up around 360 or so when going 45 mph.

    Driving In Snow

Here in South Louisiana, we get snow about once every 5 or 6 years. I had to drive from Baton Rouge to New Orleans this morning, and dang, it takes a while to acclimate to it. Judging by the number of vehicles in the ditches, a lot of folks idn't learn very well. I was doing 45-50 on the...

HomeLink stopped working - is this widespread?

I have 17.32.6, and have also noticed that Homelink is not consistent now. I first noticed it about a month or so ago. It used to work at first touch, every time. Now, I have to visually check to ensure that my door is up when entering, and down when exiting. Sometimes, it takes several...

    EV Hostility?

Most folks give me a thumbs up if they recognize the car. However, I have had at least two instances of folks presenting me with another digit over the course of the last year. I don't have any idea why, though I speculate that perhaps, since I am in oil country, that that may have something...

    Least-used supercharger?

Yes, but if one has a bit of time after charging, there is a circular lake with a lot of fancy ould homes around it just a couple of blocks away.
  41. Doc Savage

    Least-used supercharger?

Oh, sorry, there is a place called Parrains on the other side of the entrance ramp that one can see behind the superchargers. I like it a lot better than Acme, but that may just be my taste buds. Galatoire's is across the parking lot, and is good but pricey. Down the way from Trader Joe's on...

    An ICY Situation

We were coming back from Houston on Saturday evening, and stopped in Lake Charles. I don't know what was going on, but my wife asked, "Are they trying to make a statement"? Here is the picture. One Year Later...

Today marks our one year anniversary of taking delivery on our S90D. We picked it up in N. Houston, and (nervously) drove it to our friends' home in the Woodlands. That weekend, we acclimated ourselves to the basic driving functions of this new mode of transportation and, at the end of the...

Driving Log: Austin -> Baton Rouge road trip; Harvey edition.

The Baton Rouge Supercharger is often shown on the nav system as being almost full. I have only seen one or two of the stalls occupied at most, and usually, there are no cars there. There is little, if any ICEing there, as it is away from most of the storefronts. And yes, OooohNooo, ANY place...

Driving Log: Austin -> Baton Rouge road trip; Harvey edition.

Last year, when I went from Baton Rouge to Austin for SXSW, I-10 was flooded, and we had to go through Dallas. It was about an 11 hour trip in an ICE mobile. If you decide to go that way, that is at least some information for you. If you do go through Houston, we would like to hear about the...
