Air Compressor Replacement + Air Line & Air Shocks inspection DIY

I looked hard on my 2017 model X and couldn't find a refill valve. It appears that ours may not have it and the service guide suggests retrofitting one. See below from the online service manual which shows putting the valve near the right front air spring.

Air Compressor Replacement + Air Line & Air Shocks inspection DIY

I've also got a 2017 model X with sagging on the front driver side air spring. If you end up replacing your air spring yourself, I'd be curious how that goes. I may need to do that on my car as well. Our car was in the service last month for a heater replacement and they suggested replacing...

Question on rear brake part # (2017-2021pre refresh)

I'm trying to find a used rear brake caliper for my 2017 Model X which has the rear Mando single piston brake calipers. Got a frozen bleeder valve that I am struggling to remove and would like to have a spare caliper on hand in case I or the brake shop muck it up and I need to replace the...

Question on Rear brake caliper part #

Got a question for Model S owners, especially anyone with a late 2017-pre-refresh non-performance model. I've got a 2017 Model X which has the rear Mando single piston brake calipers and based on the parts catalog appears to be identical to the ones in the model S for the same year. Looking on...

    Mando brake bleeder screw size

Anyone know what the size of the brake bleeder valve screw is for the rear Mando brakes? Tesla part number 1097422-00-A. I have it on order through the service center but they may not get it by this weekend. I was looking to replace pads and bleed the brakes but one of the rear bleeder valves...

Pirelli All Season 3 - anyone?

We went from Verde AS II plus to the new AS3 (20" tires/ MX 75D). Had to replace the rear AS II plus first last year and just replaced the fronts with the AS3's today. So looking at my notes, the rear Verde AS II lasted about 18k (replaced after tread was down to 3/32 tread). The front Verde...

Anyone try Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II tires?

We had verde all season plus II's installed on our model X 75D. We have 17k on the the rears and will need to get them replaced soon as they are just now showing the tread wear indicators on the insides. Looks like the rear wheel camber is really off. If the tires were wearing evenly, maybe...

    Newport RI area chargers

Thanks. Grew up there but haven't been back in over 2 decades:oops:... We're driving in from the Conn side. I was hoping not having to drive up to Warwick to the supercharger before heading to Newport (got a long day of driving from Western PA...), but in the scheme of things, it's not that...

    Newport RI area chargers

Hi, I see that the Middletown, RI Supercharger isn't scheduled until next year. Currently looking at doing an August trip to Newport. RI and onwards to Cape Cod. I grew up in Portsmouth so will be a nice nostalgic trip back to the Newport area. I've been looking at plugshare to see what...

DIY: Removing 2nd Row Center Console w/ Photos

Old post but wanted to thank the OP for the photos and instructions. Just removed ours to see if we can use the space between the two seats for our dog and still be able to use all of the rear cargo space with the 3rd row seats down. The panels on the center console do take a little muscle to...

    Curt Hitch Install Question

nayr14, Big thanks for your post. I just finished installing the 1 1/4" hitch (model #11581) earlier today. Sadly the newer model still has the fit issues. I was really struggling to get the bumper back on. I finally took a break and reread all the posts and remembered your advise...

    Curt Hitch Install Question

Hi Z28diddy, I just ordered the same Curt 1 1/4" hitch (the newer one) and plan on installing it myself. Can I confirm if you had the panel gap issues that the others are having or if the newer model fixed that? thanks

SR AWD price - any guesses

SR AWD price - any guesses

Actually it would be $5k or at least that is how the LR models are priced - LR RWD $49k and LR AWD $54k, right? Anyways, so assuming one might still get the full $7,500 tax credit on the LR AWD (yr end) and that the SR AWD would only get the $3,750 tax credit, i guess one way of looking at it...

    Tire installers in North Pittsburgh?

Long story short, got a flat in our rear tire on our Model X. Decided to order tires from Tire Rack. Anyone have Michelin Premier LTX tires on their MX?

Wife got a flat today which got patched but treads are looking surprisingly low at 16k. Might have to replace all 4 if not at least 2. Anyone have experience with the 20" Michelin Premier LTX on their model X? How's the road noise? Looking for alternatives to the Conti's. Thanks

    Wiki Trailer-friendly Supercharger Locations

    FWD chrome trim popped off

Anyone have the chrome window trim pop off on their falcon wing door? According to the wife, son rolled down the window to say bye to his friend and when he closed the window, the trim came along with it. Eventually it came off completely. I was able to pop it back on and it does feel pretty...

Supercharger - Jersey City, NJ - Mall Drive West

We were there near closing so it wasn't crowded but did have a chuckle seeing a model S parked at the EVSE charger spots closer to the mall while all the supercharger spots were wide open. Couldn't tell if it was plugged in. Convenient location for topping up before heading into Manhattan as...

Supercharger - Jersey City, NJ - Mall Drive West

We may need to stop at the Newport Centre SC on our way to Manhattan next week. We're likely to get their after the mall is closed (~10pm). Anything open around that time especially with bathrooms or do we need to swing by one of the gas stations near the Holland tunnel entrance? thanks

Any Current Owners make new reservation in 2018?

That seems to be a canned letter that they might not have got around to update. I got that letter as well when I put in a deposit on Mar 1, 2018 as an existing owner, but as I mentioned earlier the option for the LR RWD PUP is only showing Late 2018, same as AWD. Since I'm interested in the...

For what it's worth, as an existing owner, I decided to put in a deposit back on March 1st this year. Still considering other EVs but might be interested in the AWD, so figure i might as well put the deposit down and get in line. it has me down as late 2018 and it seems the boat has passed...

PA Model X owner here. Was planning to wait for the AWD Model 3 but this might be tempting if orders for existing owners are moving this quickly and to still get the full $7,500 fed tax credit. Edit: scratch my earlier comment on the PA $1,750 state rebate which is now limited to <$50k cars.
