Actually it would be $5k or at least that is how the LR models are priced - LR RWD $49k and LR AWD $54k, right? Anyways, so assuming one might still get the full $7,500 tax credit on the LR AWD (yr end) and that the SR AWD would only get the $3,750 tax credit, i guess one way of looking at it...

Same here. Although we enjoy our model X, I would prefer they leave out the FWD on the model Y. Keep it simple and reduce cost...

For what it's worth, as an existing owner, I decided to put in a deposit back on March 1st this year. Still considering other EVs but might be interested in the AWD, so figure i might as well put the deposit down and get in line. it has me down as late 2018 and it seems the boat has passed...

Download and signup for the plugshare app. Comes in handy so you know where you can find a backup charge in case something unexpected happens. We did a PA to OK trip in December and stayed at hotels with destination chargers. I should have read the user feedback on plugshare more diligently...

PA Model X owner here. Was planning to wait for the AWD Model 3 but this might be tempting if orders for existing owners are moving this quickly and to still get the full $7,500 fed tax credit. Edit: scratch my earlier comment on the PA $1,750 state rebate which is now limited to <$50k cars.

For those who are applying for the federal tax credit for 2017 tax year, did the IRS release a 2017 version of form 8936 "qualified plug-in electric drive motor vehicle credit"? I can only find the 2016 form on the IRS website.
