Zero progress on the equipment pads for transformer and switchgear since post #16 on Dec. 15, 2023.

I believe the site is in need of a transformer. I pass by there today and will see about getting a few pics.

The reason I've found for the delay is the site work has to pass inspections before the utility company will release the transformer to be set, and those pad mount transformers are not always sitting in stock. Transformer and Switchgear pads poured and awaiting the equipment placement.

This is the first time I’ve seen V4’s in Houston Transformer and Switchgear equip pads formed but not poured.

Drove by last night and noticed the 4 pedestals on the PSU closest to Kroger were not illuminated...so 12 of 16 live.

The tap box has been set and now the transformer is the device to keep an eye out for its arrival.

The fuses are in place and meter set and displaying a read out. Just waiting on Tesla at this point. I did notice that the level two chargers are a mix of 1772 (the black ones) and NACS (the white ones)

Did you notice if the fuses at the overhead connection were in place? If they were the meter is likely set as well and just waiting for Tesla to come out and commission the site.

I'm gonna guess since the transformer bank you are referring to is (a) already in use due to the fuses in place and (b) only 300kVa (3-100's), that these chargers will receive power from a new and much larger service. If Guacahummus can find some drawings we can certainly tell if its a pad or...

You'll have the drive up to DFW to find the 1 and only (i believe) Tx Magic Dock.

Drove by Saturday and most of the site clean up has been completed with just a few palatized wire spools to be picked up. Construction fence has been taken down and removed. Guessing an inspection is hanging out there?

I wonder if you could charge using your mobile with the NEMA 14-50 at the new'ish RV Park? At least enough to get you to a SC.

The entrance has been completed and transformer installed…sparky is onsite along with CofH inspector which will hopefully give utility company the green light to energize the transformer.

Main feeders are still hanging from the weather heads awaiting the utility company to connect to the overhead transformers.

Entrance looks ready for concrete.

Are non-Tesla EVs being allowed to charge at non Magic Dock locations? I know we can't visually identify these chargers as Magic Docks due to the protective shipping material they are wrapped in currently, but that would be interesting to know. I don't believe I've seen a mix of "standard NACS"...

The contractors onsite will run the feeder wires (shown hanging in post #31) to each of the utility poles and leave them hanging out of the weatherheads. Then there will be a final electrical inspection and once the utility company (CenterPoint) sees a PASSED, they will come out and make the...

No PSU’s onsite yet, but the tap box and transformer pads are being formed up currently.

Once the contractor gets these “house lines” installed and inspected, CenterPoint will come out and make the connections, install the fuses, set the meter. Then Tesla commissioning.

Trench backfill and compaction is complete… Ready for the prefab’s to be set.

@rstx AFIRM...!!! And you can see evidence of the pop-up car meets I mentioned in an earlier post.

Based on the orientation of the conduit ran, it appears there will be 4 prefabs used at this site. Tesla equipment will arrive once the site is ready to accept them. So it may be a bit before we see Tesla equipment to change this to a cone.

Earth work has begun with a long trench suggesting this project will not utilize the prefab 4-bangers. There is routinely pop-up muscle car shows in this which should an interesting culture clash.

Site cleanup is underway with the striping complete for the LIII chargers, but not yet complete for the LII. Maybe a final electrical inspection to release utility company to make the connection

Yeah if you ever see the SC cabinets show up with the center of gravity bullseye looking mark on the side, that’s definitely not a PSU or whatever Tesla calls the 4-banger prefabs.

Nothing transformer related will take place until the entrance has been poured/paved.

I rarely charge away from the house locally, but I have a friend who shops at that HEB and its always a mess with a wait apparently. But I've never charged there and going off hearsay. Either way I agree more chargers the better.

Based on the pictures (and the SC Cabinets location) it appears the equipment pad has yet to be poured...they were making great progress, wonder what has slowed them down?

Any update on the construction side of the Supercharger?
