    AP1 ONLY Please -- life after 2018.50.6

The 2021.24.26+ firmwares include a firmware update for the LTE cell modem itself. The update to the modem is needed to reconfigure the modem to "data centric" mode. See 3GSunset - AT&T IoT Devices Even if you have the LTE modem, if the modem firmware update is not applied, it won't be able to...

    v9 2019.8.5.3aaa23d issues

They are capable of fixing it OTA, I know for sure, because they have done it for me. It seems like they are just making you wait for the next update..

    v9 2019.8.5.3aaa23d issues

So, I thought I would make a post if someone is interested about what is happening exactly behind the scenes. The way a factory reset works, is that the CID destroys the superblock on it's home partition, which contains all the user data. What is supposed to happen, is that during boot, the CID...

    Salvage Car Owners Support Group.

If you needed software help with a salvage M3, I believe the only person known to provide services for them is @Ingineer, possibly @wk057 Other than that, you should be able to get a salvage M3 up and running

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

I assume you have the 4 digit password for entering diagnostic mode. That is a quarter of how much you need to log in

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

Just a cable won't get you magic root powers

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

Considering Tesla's usual attitude to "hackers", many people disagree with sharing info for a good reason.

    Anybody on V9 in Switzerland?

    That's my doing, sorry folks

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

I simply disagreed with you in a calm discussion about @desoukya's car. I'm sorry that you take that as an insult. I PM'd you, because believe it or not, some people in the service area are sometimes willing to share an experience on two. Since I don't think the statement in question is true, I...

    Anybody on V9 in Switzerland?

They aren't pushing v9 to cars in Switzerland yet. I've updated one car manually, the owner told me there is some regulatory approval Tesla is waiting for or something like that?

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

I don't need you to explain, I'm aware how seceth works. Someone asked a bit ago if it was possible to dump firmware from the car without having root, all through the APE port. That's the topic I was replying to
  16. N

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

It is rooting and also you can't reach the IC over the APE's port AFAIK (the original question was if it is possible to get fw off the car without root through the APE's port)
  17. N

    Recalibration of Charge Port

If the OP's car is one with a motorized charge port door, then the fix was probably connecting Toolbox and running a recalibration routine.

    Rebuilding Salvaged Model S 75D

Okay, so after inspecting your full syslog, one thing I can see is that during HWIDACQ it was able to get the HWID for chgvi, so your charger is alive. Now I don't know how chgph1-2 are supposed to respond on US models, but HWIDACQ itself didn't seem to have a problem with the charger. The only...

    Rebuilding Salvaged Model S 75D

Based on your alerts, the core problem is the charger not communicating with the gateway properly. By the way, you have to put the lid back on the charger, it detects when the lid is off and won't let the BMS close contactors (although that shouldn't cause a charger MIA alert, but a HV interlock...

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

I know what you're thinking, but it's not that. No accurate timing needed for this one
  21. N

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

It is possible, don't know why folks saying it's not. You just have to know the way :D
  22. N

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

Those are translation sources you are editing. You have to compile them with Qt Linguist and overwrite one of the files in /usr/tesla/UI/bin/QtCar_??.qm A good way to do this would be using bind mounts, that way you wouldn't have to work so much with squashfs

    Software Update 2018.39.6 8377b4d

I hope that few weeks are enough for them to fix the European FM tuner :) Station list wasn't working at all, also the HD option was shown on the UI on my 100% European car This was in .39.2.1

    How'd you know?! :eek::p
  25. N

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

That depends on what you call hacking. Yeah sure you don't need root, but you still need to do some computer work to give it to the car.

    Slacker radio

It is not different firmware. It is just a 0 to 1 change in the car's configuration file. It might have happened that the SC accidentally flipped the switch...

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

US maps came out around april, EU maps are rolling out since July. That's only 3 months... However, the point is still the same. Unfortunately they mainly focus on the US, the rest only comes after

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

The full 39.2.1 image is 980 MB, the AP2 image is 425 MB over that I assume the first mass release will be about the same size
  31. N

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

The maps is a separate ~5 gigabyte download
  32. N

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

The update size is going to be ~1 gig for the pre-AP and AP1 folks For AP2&2.5 it's +0.5 gig
  33. N

Let the hacking begin... (Model S parts on the bench)

If the charger is in a loop, it won't take the firmware update. It definitely has nothing to do with the immobilizer in my opinion as well, but I have no idea what the problem could really be.

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

To the folks at Tesla reading these forums (I'm pretty sure they read it) Fix my radio please  I have "HD" displayed where that isn't even a thing in Europe. Station list doesn't work and if there is a space in a radio station's name then it writes underscores instead of spaces...

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

Hmm... When I checked a few hours ago in the morning, there was no .2.1 There was .39.2 and .39.2.0.1 but no .39.2.1

  41. N

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

So now we know that this feature isn't enabled just because Tesla feels like we don't deserve it :( (or some EU authority)
  42. N

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

@BigD0g told me he had to update to newer US maps that were released in September in order for Drive on Nav to work. Because of this I assumed we need to wait for a new maps release for Europe as well... Seems like I assumed wrong. I don't have AP2 at the moment :( Hopefully next week
  43. N

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

He has DON in Belgium?! I thought we don't have the necessary mapping data for it... I can't wait to try it out, but unfortunately the soonest I can get an AP2 car is next week :(

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

By the way, I don't remember anyone else in Europe publishing about v9.0... Is there someone who could confirm that the radio isn't broken only for me? It was fully broken in .39, then it seems to be half fixed in .39.1 but the station list is still missing Now I'm hoping that with .39.2 they...

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)
