    Replace Gen3 onboard 48A charger with 72A

I installed the 72A charger this weekend, but it appears to be maxing out at 48A. So I either have a 2/3 functioning charger (I did check and all fuses were good before installing), or it is being software limited. But, despite being a 72A, it's not throwing any errors so I'm not really out...

    Replace Gen3 onboard 48A charger with 72A

It would appear the boards are the same. 72A has 3. Sure sounds like yours may have a bad one. Swapping boards between chargers looks to be very difficult to do.

    Replace Gen3 onboard 48A charger with 72A

I already determined that one of the 2 boards inside my existing charger is bad (fuses blown on that board only). Once I knew what to check, it was easy to verify on the ebay replacement charger that it had the same issue before I even tried to install it.

    Replace Gen3 onboard 48A charger with 72A

My existing 48A onboard charger has a bad board and is only charging at 24A. My original plan was to replace it with another 48A charger from ebay following instructions posted on the forums. I did successfully this, but the charger I bought had the same issue. Got that worked out with the...

Replacing Onboard Charger Gen3 2017 MS75D...My Experience (With Photos)

There would be a lot of ungluing and unsoldering to remove a board. I did find a video on YouTube that showed a guy actually repairing a power component on the bottom side of the board, but it he didn't even fully remove it. If the ebay seller lets me keep the bad one, I may try tearing it...

Replacing Onboard Charger Gen3 2017 MS75D...My Experience (With Photos)

I attempted a swap this weekend with a used charger from eBay. The one I received looked like the case had been opened, which made me a little suspicious so I went ahead and opened it up. I saw evidence that one of the power boards had already failed (burn marks on one component). There are 2...

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

Just came across this. The linked video shows them separating the lens from the housing with just a heat gun. I thought that wasn't doable with the glue that Tesla uses... https://evetesla.com/store/ols/products/tesla-model-s-headlights-drl-repair-kit

Replacing Onboard Charger Gen3 2017 MS75D...My Experience (With Photos)

My 75D is now limiting to 24A as well. Tried a few different L2 chargers and all have the same result. Started about a week ago when we the temps were pretty hot, so wondering if that had anything to do with it. Surprisingly no errors. Planning to do the swap. Mine is an XS2-1. I'm seeing...

I think I met up with this guy at a supercharger in Kentucky. Had the 100 (no D) on the back, so it certainly caught my eye! Spoke with him for a couple minutes. He was very happy with the Jason and the upgrade!

    2022.20.9 - Tesla Vision impressions

Correct. See this article from back in 2016 when they first enabled it. Tesla's new radar technology for Autopilot is already saving owners from accidents I really like this feature. With the car being lower it's tough to see around larger vehicles directly in front. For the first time I may...

Is Telsa Vision able to detect cars in front of the vehicle you are following (2 cars ahead)? That is a feature I would hate to lose.

Rear Camber arms option - Hardrace

I just ordered my rear camber arms from the same place. Shipping was pretty steep ($95) but apparently coming from overseas. $290 total - still way cheaper than the other options out there.

    2016 S90D or 2018 S75D

Very similar commute and I live in Wisconsin. I have a S75D from late 2017. Made it through all the -20 degree weather last year no problem. I would definitely go for the 2018 75D, especially if it has the MCU 2.
