    Canada - FSD rollout

More to the point, FSD Beta is the Tesla mini game where we see who's willing to have the least amount of fun driving their car.

    Canada - FSD rollout

Further to put things into context, with my drive to work this morning, I tapped my brakes once throughout the entire trip. I was going down a hill @ 30kph and full regen wasn't enough to stop the car at a stop sign. I still got dinged 1.1% for hard braking for the trip.

    Canada - FSD rollout

It feels like there's no way in hell if you are driving within the city limits that you can get a perfect 100. Hard braking is basically: do I run the red light or am I forced to use my brakes? 😅

    Model Y Performance Winter Tires

The 21" Model Y Performance wheels use a staggered setup with the rear wheels wider than the fronts. The standard 19" and 20" Model Y wheels are a square setup (both front and rear are the same size): Model Y Tire/Wheel size information

EV tax write-off: can it be spread over multiple years?

This is incorrect. Not only must the car be purchased in the name of the company in question (or in the person's name who's generating business income), but the business must prove to CRA that it is using it for business generating purposes. You also have to remember when you get audited, it's...

EV tax write-off: can it be spread over multiple years?

When dealing with less than 100% business use cases, you will always need to keep a mileage log of every KM you drive in your car, otherwise there's a chance CRA may reject to all your car related deductions. So if you go to the grocery story, you have mark that down as personal mileage (start...

Tesla recommends cleaning and lubricating all brake calipers every 12 months or 20,000 km

Just to add another data point: I dropped my car at Vancouver Tesla Service Centre a couple days ago and they charged me $122 to service my performance brakes.

    19 inch wheels for p3d?

The Tesla 19" sport wheels will not fit on a Performance Model 3. Specifically, on a P3D+, the hub and the rotors are not flush and the wheels that you put on need to have the part of the wheel bored out to fit 1:1
  22. F

Picked up my P3D+ today... Now the work begins!

If you ever get a chance, I recommend you take off your wheels and ceramic coat the wheel barrels and the brake calipers.

Version 2020.28.5 in Canada - Adds Red light/Stop sign feature with +10km/hr

Just got the update. Braking at Stop Lights/Signs is soooooo much smoother now. +10 kph is definitely helpful, +15 kph would be ideal to keep up with traffic in general.

Why no price drop on Model 3 Performance?

Y dropped in price probably because of a combination of: 1.) Soft demand 2.) Factoring in future expansion plans at the Freemont plant => Higher production volume = lower costs 3.) Further harmonization of the parts used in both the 3 and Y = further cost savings IMO, the Model Y performance...

FSD - Y/N and why pls?

If you got the money to spare, IMO it's worth the investment. I view it as an insurance policy to future-proof your car (virtually) indefinitely. If you plan on selling your car within 5 years, then it's definitely not worth the money.

Good portable air compressor for the Model 3?

I bought this one on Amazon US almost 2 years ago and it still works great. There are various clones and variations of this model on Amazon Canada. The only draw back is that the tire pressure reading displayed on the unit is +/- 2 PSI off from what my hand gauge says. I usually over inflate...

    HW3 Upgrade

You are not missing out on much as the novelty wears out in about 5 mins. It's not just having to green light the car every time you pass through an intersection but the actual stopping is not very gradual. It likes to go almost full speed until the last second and then use friction brakes.

    HW3 Upgrade

Speculation on Reddit says, for the HW3 retrofit, they actually swap out the entire computing unit package (MCU and Autopilot) rather than just the Autopilot unit.
