    Deliveries of $80k X?

I wonder the same thing--when do they decide the demo is ready to be sold? My buddy took delivery of a demo plaid x before the price drops and his had under 100 miles on it. but it did have several randos phones paired to bluetooth that he deleted, so it seemed plausible that it was indeed a demo

    Deliveries of $80k X?

I have also wondered this! It's not the RN and it's not the VIN. I haven't successfully screenshotted it.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

You can text the sa/tesla team to ask but I highly doubt they would list the tax credit eligibility inaccurately on their website.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

For the record when my monroney was reprinted (x2 I suppose) the configuration listed on the document did not change.

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Fair. Where I’m coming from: I preordered a model Y at around the 60k price. The price had changed two or three times by the time I took delivery. There was no monroney. I asked for it because it’s often requested by third party tradein companies. They reprinted it and it was with the current...

Tinting Windows - Los Angeles Area

I've used sunshield glass tinting in Sherman Oaks (just off the 101 near the 101/405 junction) for 3 teslas now. they are a top notch shop. they'll quote you the price over the phone and stick to it. they'll make an appointment for you and they are almost always running on time. they carry at...

Model Y has anyone received 2023 VIN yet?

@kinematic mind sharing your digit after PF58? I know they don't necessarily go sequentially, but just wondering if we can decipher what subsequent digit would be the cutoff for cargo cover or not. thank you

replacing roof at the same time as Tesla solar panel install

Thanks to all for the variety of responses. Matching replacements for broken tiles years after installation seems like a real hassle too. I remember I saw a house once with what must have been a couple hundred extra tiles stacked up on the side of the garage. That's one way to do it, I guess...

replacing roof at the same time as Tesla solar panel install

Thanks for the info...all good to know. I was thinking of going with concrete tiles and it seemed like it would be a bigger hassle to do the two installations sequentially.

replacing roof at the same time as Tesla solar panel install

I'm trying to figure out if Tesla will work with roofers in Los Angeles County to coordinate roof replacement at the same time as a fresh installation of Tesla solar panels. Our asphalt shingle roof is pretty old--the last time a roofer was up there, he told us it was 25 years old and he thought...

The perfect Model 3 emergency jack?

Thanks for the explanation. That totally makes sense, as almost every time a jack up a car it seems like the car wants to roll. I had thought that was because every time I jack up a car I never quite center it correctly. Your explanation makes a lot more sense. when you are referring to shop...

The perfect Model 3 emergency jack?

You’re right. I’m not sure. Only thing I can think of is my driveway might be a little sloped but I’ve never taken a level to it (it doesn’t really feel sloped...)
  14. F

The perfect Model 3 emergency jack?

What do you use it for? Does yours flex side to side like mine? (I was doing it on totally level ground but inevitably the weight shifts a little as the tire clears the ground, hence the stress on the jack.) I wonder if some jack models/generations are better than others.
  15. F

The perfect Model 3 emergency jack?

I got an OEM Porsche aluminum jack from eBay and have been sorely disappointed! I cleaned it up and regreased the thread. I couldn’t manage to get a rear tire up on solid ground because I absolutely destroyed the skinny aluminum wrench (the aluminum bent stick with a handle on one end and a hook...

Tesla now repairing MCU1 with a new Tegra card for less than $500

sounds like emmc to me but I never had it this bad. bluetooth going out happened once and when I tried reconnecting the mcu rebooted itself (and took several minutes to come on). does your instrument cluster have the memory degraded notification after the new software update? also, regarding...

    Supercharger - Torrance, CA (LIVE 22 Jan 2021, 20 V3 stalls)

I know an employee who works at the del amo showroom and casually asked about it. She said, "yeah, it'll probably be a year from now or so." I thought she was joking, but she was completely serious. Well, I sure hope she is wrong!

Tesla now repairing MCU1 with a new Tegra card for less than $500

Does the part 2728212-S0-B include the LTE upgrade? From reading this and many other threads there are a few options for getting LTE--including an entire new MCU2 versus just getting a daughterboard/daughterboard chip replacement. I'm wondering if the aforementioned daughterboard replacement...

installer recs - Tesla solar panels/red tile roof - Los Angeles, CA

I see. after debating back and forth, we're already on TOU (despite having solar panels and EVs) because we would use up enough electricity (not offset by solar) charging the cars that we get pushed into the high use tier even on good months. I looked and we have a couple more years until the...

installer recs - Tesla solar panels/red tile roof - Los Angeles, CA

Hmm, I see. I get what you're saying about Hanwha as the manufacturer. I guess maybe I don't understand the difference, but we wanted solar panels sold to us by Tesla (and possibly also get a powerwall) so that we can use the Tesla app and stay within the Tesla ecosystem. (not to mention...

installer recs - Tesla solar panels/red tile roof - Los Angeles, CA

You're right--but we prefer the look of the red tiles...I suppose I'll give Baker a call. Yes, we need more solar generation for our Tesla vehicles. I had to read about NEM 1 and 2. The main difference is non-bypassable costs right? I'd be using TOU regardless I imagine. I actually don't know...

installer recs - Tesla solar panels/red tile roof - Los Angeles, CA

We're looking to replace our asphalt roof with a red tile roof and upgrade our 20-year-old solar panels at the same time. Does anyone have any recommendations for third-party Tesla solar panel installers who will be willing to work with a roofer to install the panels on red tile roofs in LA, CA...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

Chaserr can you explain the battery voltage issue? I was under the impression that batteries at the end of their usable life tend to have a slight decrease in voltage due to increased internal resistance. This is readily quantified. What implication does the 100% SOC voltage have?

    6 vs 7 seats, 2nd row movement

I’m surprised about the comments saying the 7 seater is less roomy in back compared to the 6. The third row of the 6 is already extremely uncomfortable for an adult, and it seemed that if they’d just allowed row 2 seats to move even farther forward, it’d help a lot. I can’t imagine what the 7...

Model 3 charging limited near 50 kW

Haha! You’re right. Unpaired if I get to swing by at around 11 at night or sometimes 8-9 am. Otherwise...usually a line. Thanks for the helpful insights everyone. I guess I’ll give tesla a call at some point.

Model 3 charging limited near 50 kW

Sorry about reviving a stale thread, but I wanted to pick everyone’s brains... At the Culver City supercharger, my LR RWD 3 used to get 100+ kW when starting between 30-50% SOC on an unpaired stall, and then it would taper down to 50-70 kW as I reached 70-85% SOC (approximately). Granted, this...

    Model 3 Weird Smell

Just started having the vinegar smell issue myself. I’m diligent about running the fan on, no AC, before parking the car to try and blow the vents and AC dry, but it still happened... And it’s not the mildewy smell that I’m used to from other cars—it’s purely sour and smells a lot like acetic acid.

    Thunk while supercharging

Yeah, no other problems for me, either. I will try to get a recording of it one of these days--when the supercharger is noisy or I have the music on, I don't notice it as much.
  35. F

    Thunk while supercharging

yeah, i agree, it seems like it'd be pretty unlikely that it's the contactors going on and off while supercharging--the supercharging rate/wattage doesn't change when the thunk happens. I was thinking the same thing too @Bighorn ...

    Thunk while supercharging

I’ve searched this forum as well as M3OC and reddit without success. My model 3 makes a periodic clunking or thunking noise when supercharging, around every 3 minutes or so. If I’m sitting in the driver’s seat, it feels like it’s coming from the right rear or the rear center. I can hear it and...

How's the Model 3 Air Filter?

It’s better than any other car I’ve owned (largely Japanese cars). I often forget I’m not on recirculate on the highway because I can’t smell the fumes. Very interesting that there are two filters!

    Woot's issue list

I agree. I’d be livid if they tried to pull a fast one on me like that. New tire seems like the most consumer-friendly thing to do, and they should have done it at the delivery center.
