2024 Model 3 Performance Announced - Discussion thread post announcement

Agree and you haven't even mentioned forged wheels with 40mm wider rear tires. So many improvements make this a much improved vehicle and far from being a let down. When they make this in QuickSilver and if they ever re-offer FSD transfer, I'm all over it.

Can stalks be added to a 2021+ round steering wheel?

I've purchased stuff from these guys before and they have a lot of online YT instructional videos. I'm pretty sure they'll release an install video.

Will the free FSD trial convince you to purchase FSD?

To answer the OPs question, any free demo will help sales BUT that's only if the product being demo'd is amazing. It seems FSD is not at that stage and therefore these free trials will not increase any sales. If Tesla wants to sell FSD, they will need to give another free trial when FSD is...

    UNPLUGGED PERFORMANCE front lip review

To describe the fit as rough is unfair. It's not an OEM 100% fit but it is as good as it gets foe non-OEM parts. Installing painted vs unpainted doesn't change the fit but painted looks more OEM+. Much better to paint first before install. Painting on the car is not a great idea. I've had mine...

Model 3 Highland (Canada) Waiting room

For me the front bumper is worth doing. The rest of the car, doesn't make financial sense for me.

Model 3 Highland (Canada) Waiting room

Had my 2018 since new and the only area with chips (minor) is the front bumper. Nothing on mirrors, hood, fenders, etc. I'd keep PPF to front bumper only.

    Field of Highlands (Canada)

They are definitely all new Highland models. Unfortunately, my pictures weren't the best. As @Saittech said, the trim is covered with film making it look chrome from the picture but it's actually white film. The location is one of the Port of Vancouver's auto terminals. Storage here is for...

Master cylinder brace review! Better value than MPP?

Also, aren't patents only available for "inventions"? For example, aftermarket anti-sway bars have been around for a long time well before Tesla was even a company. I would assume the first company to bring an anti-sway bar kit for a Model 3 would have difficulty getting a patent for the kit...

    Hardwiring a Radar Detector - 2022 M3P

Switched power. It stays active after you leave the car but after a few minutes, power shuts off. Perfect for radar. 5 years later and no issues.

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

If you've ever taken apart any area of a Model 3 you might notice that over time Tesla actually reduces some parts to save money. An example is the inside trim panel for the trunk lid. The later cars actually have fewer retaining clips than the older cars as they figured they could save a couple...

Tinting front windshield: 50% or 70%?

@ebradway, did you manually set your camera to use identical exposure settings (shutter speed, aperture, iso, etc) for all the photos? Pictures can be deceiving as most camera adjust for the exposure so if the tint is darker, it will let more light in. Even using darker tint (for example 35%)...

    Lowering the Model 3

Very true about you don't know what you don't know. I'm guessing you are right about noticing some improvement with MPP Comfort coilovers but the question each person needs to ask themselves is whether the ride quality difference is worth the money. For sure some say yes and some may say no...

    Lowering the Model 3

I've never had those issues you mentioned with my shocks so maybe I lucked out. I also have never felt my bump stops prematurely recruited. I guess it also depends on the roads one drives on plus individual driving styles. Bottomline for me after years with springs only is that I've never felt...

    Lowering the Model 3

I have a 2018 LR RWD as well with Eibach springs and running for about 4 years. The UP springs are known to have noise issues and probably the only on your list above with plastic noise isolators. TSportline springs seem to be fine but I think Eibach ride a hair lower. H&R seem to ride even...

Master cylinder brace review! Better value than MPP?

Interestingly, I found a YT video from 2014 for a brace for a Honda S2000. The design is different for obvious reasons but the idea is the same: CNC'd aluminum in a shape that has some nearby anchor points (in this case the top of the strut tower) and an adjustable stop resting against the...

Master cylinder brace review! Better value than MPP?

Looks like there's even more choices now for master cylinder braces. Credit to MPP for being first to market with a solution for the Model 3 but also agree with @Black306 that master cylinder braces are not a unique concept/idea. Just like anti sway bars were not a new concept for the Model 3...

Hansshow vs Tesla Offer Power Frunk/Trunk - which one to buy?

You are right. My moment of dyslexia. It makes more sense to put the switch on the positive.

Hansshow vs Tesla Offer Power Frunk/Trunk - which one to buy?

Between the 2 options, I'd do the switch. An alternative to an actual switch is a bullet type connector and simply unplug them. That is what I did for different reasons than you. Tesla gave me a bit of grief about the various things I had hooked up when I was getting warranty service. They told...

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

Without the ICE vibration and noise, these should work extremely well on an EV! The only problem is figuring out how many sets I need to cover the entire front. 🤔

Hansshow vs Tesla Offer Power Frunk/Trunk - which one to buy?

It's good to see a few have good truthful results with Hansshow but the sheer volume of negative feedback is telling. I personally have had terrible experiences on more than one occasion. Even with the significant complaints about their products and lack of service when hardware needs...

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

A front bumper camera would be such a welcome feature. Pulling up to parking lot dividers is such a guessing game and worse for those who are lowered and/or have front lip spoilers. Post a pic!

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

Thought I read somewhere that there are more differences between the current Model 3 and the Highland Model 3 than there is between current 3 and Y. Maybe the 3 and Y are the same car? Kidding of course. Joking aside, I don't think the Highland was supposed to be a different car but rather a...

Hansshow vs Tesla Offer Power Frunk/Trunk - which one to buy?

Mileage could play a factor. I misread your previous note and thought you were doing 6300 miles annually. I live in a pretty rainy climate but my car is usually garage kept so it doesn't get overly soaked. As for Sentry mode, it's always running in my car other than when it's in my garage at...

Hansshow vs Tesla Offer Power Frunk/Trunk - which one to buy?

My car is a 2018 and I do about 6,200 miles per year - almost identical to you. I've had my EVOffer frunk kit for 3 years and I have a lot of other electrical mods like liftgate kit, front display cluster, rear screen, hard-wired radar, frunk lighting, underseat ambient lighting, and a couple...

    NEW Model 3 Highland review!

One would think they would continue it. If the drivetrain is the same there's no reason not to offer an easy-money option...it's pure gravy for Tesla. I know it's wishful thinking but every software upgrade (EAP, FSD, Acceleration boost) should come with the option for owners to transfer it if...

    Repeater Camera fix

Mine is a 2018 and when I mentioned this issue the tech said that when I bought the car, the cameras were not meant for dashcam, lane change viewing, etc and therefore never designed with those purposes in mind. That was their standard reply to say they are not covered. However, I lucked out and...

    Power frunk issue

Most people look at these frunk kits as simply hardware and forget that it also needs software to operate it. The only company that I am aware of that is always on top of the software side is EVOffer - the same kit mentioned by @WNC-MY above. On the hardware side, things vary as well and there...

Another Power Frunk (hansshow)not working thread...

Hansshow is usually reasonably responsive if they believe they can fix your issue without any hardware replacement (ie., no cost to them other than time). The fact they've ghosted you likely means they believe it's a hardware issue and they don't want to incur any costs to replace it.

    Problem with Hansshow Support

@BlkDragon, sorry to hear about your experience. I too have only ever filed a chargeback one time and guess who it was against? It's amazing that companies with just a poor track record manage to stay in business. The Teslogic is supercool - just wish there was some super-integrated way of...

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

Most motorcycles also have front and rear brake controls separated where front brake is operated by the right hand and rear brake right foot. Then transmission selection is left foot. People that ride motorcycles adapt to this but I wouldn't want to replicate these controls on a car. Apples and...

2022 RWD speaker activation harness modification

If you're remotely interested in a harness, contact the guys at EVOffer. At least they have a history of paying attention to Tesla's updates and looking at solutions where needed. They will more than likely have an answer of whether their own harness works with the recent update.

Hansshow vs Tesla Offer Power Frunk/Trunk - which one to buy?

@Durzel, sorry to hear about your troubles. My frunk gets used quite a bit and so far, knock on wood, no issues at all. I dread the day something happens. I'm glad that at some point they were willing to give you a replacement part. Although I live in a city with a significant amount of rain, I...
