I replaced all 4 OEM tires on a late 2018 MX at around 44K miles. I stumbled on the tire issue on TMC when I had around 30K miles and every time I took it to the SC since then, they said I was fine. Even at about 44K they said I would be able to get more out of them and even they seemed...
Currently on software v2021.4.15 and AP feels like its got worse. The version late last year was good. Tesla has gone backwards with the new AP versions!
In CA, it pulls you out of car pool lane in some stretches of the freeways even when you have the settings as use HOA lanes. This problem...
Did anyone notice these behaviors of AP with 4.6:
1. Abrupt slow downs to avoid crashing into the vehicle in front.
2. Keeps pulling out of the commuter (car pool) lane for no reason even on major freeways, especially when you are driving from a rural freeway onto a major one when AP is set...
Owning an MX means you should expect issues like shudder or minor trim problems, which existed since the beginning although some have been fixed. I think Tesla gave up on the shudder as they were never able to come up with a real solution.
Ask the owner if there were any shudder issues (although it could be that all MX's have this issue but show up depending on the driver apparently).
I think the vertical screens will actually be sought after by second-hand users because not everyone likes the horizontal screens so the price...
75D is good for daily driving but will add time to long trips. No problem if you have kids; you need to stop anyway for various reasons.
I think the vertical screens will make 75D more attractive than 100D (higher priced) for city driving if priced right, which I think can be around 62-65K for...
Does anyone buy insurance from Tesla at all, given that they always quote much higher than any other insurance company?
I suppose if you ever need a repair or windshield replacement, maybe it helps to have Tesla insurance??
They also don't buy the MX due to the many problems that are well known with the X and combine that with the higher cost...why would anyone want to spend that kind of $$$ and then have to deal with the problems like the shudder, etc.?
If anyone else had similar issue, please post if you found out why it happened and how to fix the issue:
I finished supercharging and when I was ready to drive, it wouldn't let me start because the warning just showed, "key not inside'. I did have the key and no matter what I tried, including...
Did anyone get the tires replaced at a non-Tesla SC? Tesla SC quoted $1380 for all 4 tire replacement (and I presume it also includes wheel alignment)!
Huh, thought Tesla used only Conti's, I guess not! Do you find any difference in noise between the Conti's and Michelin? It's so loud in my cabin with the Conti's, but I guess MX generally has had higher noise than some other cars.
How many miles did your friend have on these tires? There is another thread on tire replacement on here, majority of people had to replace at or under 20k miles, so maybe the tires wore out already when they rotated them, which they shouldn't have done anyway on the MX!
Seems like others have mentioned in tire related posts that the 20" contis are loud. Am looking to replace with Nexen N'Fera RU5 265/45R20 108V XL BSW Touring tire.
Did you end up replacing your OEMs with the Nexen N'Fera RU5 265/45R20 108V XL BSW Touring tire? If so, what do you think? Any negatives when you don't use these instead of the OEMs?
Would you be able to provide us an update on the Nexus please? How do they hold up on the MX and would you have rather paid over a $1000 for the OEM Conti's from Tesla? Thank you.
I think Op had to enable that feature prior to posting the thread. Surprised to see that the majority ~37% replaced it at 20K (or below)! That's just crazy!
Seems like the X has lesser issues than when it first came out in 2015/16?, and since I took delivery in late 2018. For anyone who care to search and look back to my 2018-2019 posts, you will see that I barely had my car with me because it sat in the Tesla shop for months to fix the issues it...
Did anyone have issues with 16.2.1 update? I (NAP) was driving at night on a single lane rural road when suddenly the car swerved into the oncoming traffic lane. It was on a slight curve and a minivan was in the other lane. The only reason I avoided a head-on crash is because I immediately took...
Does anyone with a late 2018 MX have zero regeneration braking? The regen breaking used to be really great and now it's non-existent! I am on 2020.8.1.
Is the total loss of regen break due to software or something with the hardware, am trying to determine whether it's worth the hassle of trying...
I wish they would still buy-back!
Calling it normal behavior can get them in trouble someday, especially if a situation arises where a passenger can't get out during an emergency and gets injured or killed.
Thank you. Looks like even the Raven models have this issue!
Scheduling SC visit, but dreading how long they will keep the vehicle, especially with Clovid-19 probably impacting supplies?
Lately, my MX doors - front & FWs - either open partially or not at all and show an obstacle error when they are facing the sun directly.
Did anyone have this issue? I am wondering if the sun is slowly killing the sensors? Should I make an SC visit to see if they will replace the sensors?
SC...
Reporting back that NAP came back without doing anything other than keeping the car off! However, not knowing why it showed up in the first place is bit of an issue. Should I still keep my SC visit and have them replace any potentially failing cameras?
I am on the latest software too, and no condensation on the pillar or any of the cameras that I could see.
Could it be that the cameras are starting to fail due to too much heat when in constant use? I am no expert at electronics, but it's just a wild guess.
That's the first thing I did, got it squeaky clean but that wasn't the problem. Had a chance to drive more and I can confirm that while AP works, NAP does not work i.e. no lane changing, exit, etc.
Got a warning in my MX out of the blue stating, 'Autopilot camera unavailable Features may be restored on next drive'.
I also have notifications - APP_w305 and w269 warning about the cameras and features not being available.
I am still able to use AP and NAP, but should I use it given the...
I have a late 2018 MX 75D. It was with the SC and body shop to fix the issues found at delivery for over 8 weeks. While at the SC, they did not charge it and the battery went down to zero. They also had to check the heater because the car was not heating up. They didn't seem to have swapped any...
I am afraid nothing much you can do about it. Something does seemed to have happened at the SC because I report the same thing. However, I barely had my car with me the first few months as it sat at the SC for months, so I don't have a lot of data to compare.
What range do you get? Do you have a 100/90/75D?
I never got more than about 125 miles for my 75D charged to 90% and down to around 10%. I am also wondering if something happened after my car has been with the SC for about 2 months to fix factory issues that it came with when it was brand new!
Can a 75D battery be replaced with a 100D (or whichever battery pack has the most range in a couple of years)?
Has anyone ever replaced the battery pack or know (of) someone who did in either the MS or MX?
I am wondering how much battery replacement will cost?
When I charge to 90%, I see 198 miles, but I never ever got above around 125 miles with battery down to around 10% from 90%. SC refuses to do anything about it.
Supercharging speed varies now for me too and usually is slower.
MX late 2018 delivery.
