    Modern Spare still recommended?

TSportline Full Kit Spare is about $140 cheaper than Modern (depending on taxes) currently with their Black Friday sale. Use BF15 and BFSHIP.

Pirelli All Season 3 - anyone?

Updating here. Just over 28,000 miles on three of four tires. Replacing one today because of a leak from swallowing a rock in June 2022 (with only 2,000 miles) and replaced another with sidewall damage with a Pirelli Scorpian Verde AS I spare we stored. Finding it helpful to keep spares...

Tesla Virtual Power Plant - CA (Released for some SCE customers starting 08.15.2022)

Jjrandorin…thanks for merging, but was attempting to do the opposite so those of us with SCE could splice out our specific strategy from, let’s say, PG&E. I think it’s helpful.

Pirelli All Season 3 - anyone?

Thanks, pakman00. Replacing all four Verde AS II Plus today with AS3’s on 20”/‘MX 100D. Could have taken the fronts a few thousand more miles especially in dry weather, but will pull one for a spare JIC. Noticed quite a bit of wear in the middle of the tire indicating over inflation. Using...

Pirelli All Season 3 - anyone?

Anyone else try the A/S 3 on their MX? The now discontinued Verde A/S II Plus went ~30,000 on my rears, could probably go another 3,000 on the front. Best tire we’ve had on this car yet.

Anyone try Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II tires?

That’s odd. Many if the earlier forums cite increased inside wear from the car being elevated too high. Needing to replace my set. The rears are pretty worn after almost 30,000. May have been somewhat overly inflated as the middle of the tire was worn the most. Verde All Season Verde II...

    LTE Outage

Thx for responding. We did update after the issue started hoping it would resolve the issue. It didn’t 😩

    LTE Outage

Actually out 96 hours now. Premium current. Software updated last night. Dash reboot several times. Maybe a bad LTE card?

    LTE Outage

Had the problem for 48 hours in SoCal. Rebooted twice with no changes. Anyone else?

Couple of questions about the Tesla App

I called the toll free Customer Service number and they were very helpful in making the change on the spot. I then, received an email two weeks later from my advisor telling me combining accounts could not be done until about a month after PTO. I’ve always heard the toll free CS reps are less...

    My Solar Roof Journey

Wow. This is super fast. It was mentioned to me that the latter parts (detail work) seems to feel slower as you get towards the end. That was our experience as well.

    Current Solar Roof Wait?

Much of wait will depend on Tesla’s working relationship with Building & Safety and the Fire Marshall in your municipality. They’ll need a green light through the permit process.

PTO with SCE - help with current status.

SCE sent us a bunch of emails in a row and it seemed there was nothing for us to do. Assigned to one of their engineers > approved > then 6 days later PTO approval. Just hold tight.

    Solar roof install (New underlayment)

My recent install was a subcontractor tear off and decking. The sub was also supposed to put down the underlayment, but I assume because the Cobalt was new the Tesla crew applied it.
  21. M

    Solar roof install (New underlayment)

The install of the Cobalt looks really good. None of the puckering that @marty2112 and I had. Especially with dew, moisture and the colder weather, you’ll be glad to have the new Cobalt. Only one layer required. No slipping around by your crew on the roof. Keep posting pics. Have a good...

2xPowerwall whole house backup - HVAC sure start problem

My understanding is if you have a Scroll Compressor, you’re good to go on the Sure Start. My issue is my compressor doesn’t have a Scroll Compressor, but it’s possible a soft start kit from Trane will remedy. Not getting my hopes up.

They are having a tough time laying the flashing and metal times cut to fit around our chimney. I think it would be almost impossible around the clerestory and cupola. Good decision.

2xPowerwall whole house backup - HVAC sure start problem

@bob_p Are you sure these are not soft start kits. We have an older model HVAC and the installer is telling us we need a soft start, not hard start kit. Very confused. TIA for the clarification.

Five cases of Gatorade, four cases of water, six cases of snacks, six dozen donuts and we’re finally finished on Day #20 including tear off, 16 days excluding tear off. One of the crew had a fuzzy mop looking tool that he was putting in and out of the gutters. He said it was to get the metal...

SolarRoof owners - how do we monitor string production?

From my lead (who was promoted to oversee multiple projects as he arrived on site, so I think he knows what he’s talking about): “The powerwall Gateway does that but it doesn’t display individual strings just overall production . If you’ll like to see each individual string per inverter then...

    Solar Roof Installation Tips

I remember reading in a post on this board that it might be a good idea to ask if one could hold some inactive and PV tiles for when Tesla goes to Version 3 for and our solar tiles are discontinued for repairs, etc. Any thoughts on this? The crew is starting to pack up today.

    Solar Roof Installation Tips

Day 19 - crew was hoping to be finished today, but the lead let us know they would be here next week. We’re in the final stretch. This crew is routinely arriving at 7:30-7:45am and leaving at 7pm. They’re terrific. Have been hunting for pictures of Solar Roofs intersections. We asked...

    Requesting a new "project advisor"?

We didn’t find out our HVAC would not be backed up until they were installing the roof. Our unit is over 20 years old. When I asked the fellows that installed our PWs if we were to replace our compressor what we should get he replied, “Any compressor with an LRA less than 60 amps.” We called...

Solar Roof - Anyone have Tesla Call During Tear Off to Re-Negotiate Costs?

We were told by our original advisor prior to signing that Gutters would be included. Then after it went missing from our contract, our advisor explained the Tesla employee that did the inspection said new gutters would not be needed. Upon arrival of the Tesla team, our lead explained the roof...

Solar Roof - Anyone have Tesla Call During Tear Off to Re-Negotiate Costs?

Well, Day 16 and Tesla is back re-negotiating gutters. We are part of the early promotional contract where gutters are included. Confirmed inclusion of gutters on 10/9, advisor called to return emails on 10/17 with no mention of gutters, then on the next day the project lead told us he...

    Solar Roof Installation Tips

UNDERLAYMENT BUBBLING It’s possible, but most of the puckering was not on that area of the roof. ATTIC VENTS Our understanding is ridge vents, but I will double back and re-check.

    A/C replacement advice

We ran into this issue just last week. Had forgotten it might be an issue and our HVAC unit which is definitely oversized for our home. It is over 20 years old, but not on its last leg. When discussing with our PW installer, he commented we would need an HVAC unit with an LRA less than 60...

    Solar Roof Installation Tips

Circling back in a couple of items: UNDERLAYMENT PUCKERING/BUBBLING One of our leads checked and let us know he really wasn’t quite sure why that was happening and that they were rolling it flat, but that it is the material above the underlayment that is puckering, not the underpayment itself...

@jboy210 They used the Firestone scraps to cover some of their flat work services. The Cobalt is thicker and super tacky. Not sure if that’s better. @marty2112 Looking at your pictures, you have some bubbling as well. I have a text into my lead and he’s looking into it. @DagonR We received...
