    Elon & Twitter

Tesla has certainly lost it's luster for me. I no longer see it as the cool, trendy company trying to do right in this world and I have trouble enthusiastically supporting it still. WIth that being said, I fully support the transition to EVs and tesla is by far the best EV company, at least as...

Android 13 update phone key not working

I installed the patch today as well. So far everything is working well, but I've had other fixes last about 24 hours so time will tell if it's truly fixed.

Android 13 update phone key not working

I've also reported this to Tesla. I would recommend that everyone do the same so that hopefully they become aware of the problem and can fix it on their end.

Android 13 update phone key not working

As an update, after about a week it unfortunately stopped working again this morning. Like others have mentioned, this seems to be an Android 13 issue. It started right after I updated.

Android 13 update phone key not working

Yes, I went into the locks menu and removed my phone. I then went into my phone's bluetooth settings and removed the car. Restarted both and then re-paired them and everything worked. As an aside, I initially thought it was an issue with just starting the car because I could unlock and get...

Android 13 update phone key not working

Same thing happened to me. You have to unpair the phone in the car, then reinstall it as a new key.

We need more service centers in Georgia

No, the OP isn't comparing rates...at least not correctly. The original statement was that Georgia had only 4 service centers and so the "ratio is one service center per 2.5 million Tesla owners in Georgia". However the total population of Georgia is about 10 million, which would mean that...

We need more service centers in Georgia

You can't compare these two states. California has a much larger population and is geographically much larger. There are also far, far more teslas in California than in Georgia. I live in California and wait times for me are about 3 weeks as well.

    Poll on V11 interface

Yep, that makes just about everyone. Apparently they're well aware at this point and are planning a fix.

    Safety score broken

Yes and no. What they're doing is taking your trip and extrapolating how many warning you would've had if you drove the same way for a 1000 mile trip. In other words, if you make a 10 mile trip and have 1 warning your warnings would report as an average of 100. If you have two warnings that...

Tesla is an AWFUL software company

Judging by the incredibly rude and unprofessional way you are interacting with people who don't agree with you and the long list of (minor) complaints, I'd say my assessment of you being someone who is never happy with anything is spot on. The way the heated steering wheel is turned on is a...

Tesla is an AWFUL software company

Some people are so particular that they're never happy with anything. Other people just can't stand change and hate anything that's not exactly the same as what they've had for their entire life. There's no problem with that, but if you're one of those people you should have thoroughly vetted...

Tried an Model 3 with Autopilot. Autopilot, Seriously?

Yes, it's not full self driving by any means at this point but over the years the automation has clearly gotten better. They're supposedly going to release the first widespread public beta of FSD in a few weeks so that will give us a better look at how close/far we actually are to FSD.
  15. J

Tried an Model 3 with Autopilot. Autopilot, Seriously?

First of all just to manage expectations here a bit, "Full Self Driving" is not available to the public yet and thus was not available on the Tesla that you drove. The features that you were using are an incremental step towards full self driving. These features work best on highways but will...

Is Model 3 for daily commute of 200Km a day good?

That probably won't work if you're just going to do a level 1 charger. That charges at about 5 mph. If you're charging 12 hours overnight that's only about 60 miles you're going to replace each day. If you're traveling 100 to 125 MI, that means that you're going to lose approximately 40 to 65...

Tried an Model 3 with Autopilot. Autopilot, Seriously?

It's clear that you don't actually understand autopilot or how it works, especially based on the green light comment. As noted above you should read the manual before complaining about the car and certainly before driving it. It's quite dangerous to operate a car that you don't understand.

Will it hold my garbage cans? (I miss Wagons and SUVs, not liking CUVs.)

Why do you need those cans. Could you get cans that are a different shape/size to use? That would be the easiest solution to your problem.

How feasible it is to demand driving log data (Traction, Brake Presure, ABS, etc) from Tesla

What are you hoping to achieve with the data? Sounds like poor driving conditions were the main cause of the crash. I think he should just be thankful that he walked away with such minor injuries, submit to insurance, and move on.

Thinking of trading my 2018 for 2021 Model 3. What would you do? [op moved to another brand]

What will happen is that you drop $15k+ for what ultimately amounts to minor upgrades. You'll be super happy with your brand new car...for about 6 months. Then tesla will release a new version with 50 miles extra range. You'll contemplate upgrading for just $15k. Then 6 months later they'll...

Has anyone regretted the color the chose enough to try trading in shortly after purchasing?

If you truly don't like the color then you could consider doing a vinyl wrap. It will probably cost way less than the amount of money you would lose on a trade and you would have the option of doing a custom color of you wanted.

    Suspension upgrades in Los Angeles???

Not quite in the valley/burbank area, but if your willing to travel p-zero world is great - P Zero World Los Angeles: Pirelli Premium Retail Shop I also had difficulty finding a good suspension shop in the area until I found them. They installed coilovers on my model 3 and did a great job...

Disappointed with the Refreshed 2021 Model X

Keep in mind that the Cybertruck isn't built yet. The expected range is based on new battery technology that they are developing that will be used in the cyber truck. The model x is using current battery technology. Once they develop the new batteries those inevitably going to the model x as...

After 3 months and a couple days with a Y

These are not normal problems. It sounds like the car is not operating properly and perhaps that you don't fully understand how to use it as well. It sounds like you need to take it to a service center to see what's going on as others have suggested. Would also recommend reading about how...

    Wi-Fi Updates

It's not that you "had" to do 4 updates so far, it's that you got to do 4 updates. What you're experiencing is one of the greatest benefits of Teslas, they are constantly updating and adding new features. My tesla is much much different and far better than the day I bought it, with may great...

Missed EoY supercharger and FSD deal - when's the next best time to buy?

I wouldn't wait 3 months just for the possibility of a short FSD trial or some supercharging miles. If you're otherwise ready to purchase then I would just do it. However, if you're planning to buy a model s or model x I would definitely wait a bit longer. There are murmurings and even...

Recommendations for Coilover Install in L.A.

I recently purchased MPP coilovers but have been having a difficult time finding someone to install them. Most places I've contacted won't even touch teslas let alone install the coilovers. Does anyone have any recommendations for places in L.A. (ideally west LA) that will install these?

LA drivers - Autopilot on Laurel Canyon

Actually no, no one ever said that it was not a sensor problem. Because you don't know. Because you can't know unless we know if other cars have behaved the same way on the same road, which was the question that the OP asked and no one has yet answered. Yes we know that the manual says it...

LA drivers - Autopilot on Laurel Canyon

Wow, I don't usually do this but this seems to be going south quickly. The OP asked was whether other people experienced the same behavior or whether they may have a problem with the sensors that needs addressed. I don't believe they asked to be disparaged by a list of things you believe they...

Whats it like to own a Tesla in Los Angeles with no access to a charger at home?

That depends on how far you drive each day. If you drive 10-15 miles then it's very feasible, especially if you go with the long range. If you drive 60-80, that's going to be more difficult. They make apps to find local charging stations. PlugShare is my favorite but there are others. The...

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

I'm sure that finding space in LA to put up superchargers isn't easy. It's probably more logistics than any sort of political motivation. With that being said, I've found the distribution of superchargers to be pretty convenient. By the way, there are 10 superchargers in downtown - 899 South...

    Ingenext Boost Modules [aftermarket]

This has been out for a little while. Keep in mind that because of the way they unlock the features, you can't upgrade your software afterwards. That's going to be a deal breaker for just about everyone as you won't be able to get any of the new features they release. Take a look at where the...

UPP sport springs and sway bars, clunk from car on bumps-HELP!

I suspect it's the springs. I recently installed UP lowering springs (mild) without sway bars. At first everything was ok, but a few weeks later I went over a large bump and *clunk*. Now the clinking is more frequent. Not over every bump but usually on later sizes ones.

    Chrome delete in Southern CA

You may be able to make your own. I've been looking for the same in red. I found a site that offers samples for a few dollars. I ordered a bunch of red samples. Planning to find the one that matches the closest and using the door handle wraps that come with the kit as a template to cut out...

    Chrome delete in Southern CA

Agree, $149 is a good price compared to the $800-1000 I was being quoted for professional install. Help picking insurance for Model S?

The claim was about $4k. Our rates did go up but not by much, can't recall exactly how much.

Help picking insurance for Model S?

We have progressive because they have the best rates on Tesla's that we could find. Have been with them for about 2 years and no issues so far. Only had one minor claim though when the wife scraped the side of a parking garage but everything went smoothly with that.

    Upgrading to hardware 3.0

That should work. Just keep in mind that the HW3 upgrade will likely take a while. As far as I can tell they are assigning the upgrades by VIN number based on when you purchased FSD. I'm in the US and purchased my car and FSD in April 2018 and just got my HW3 upgrade (today actually!)

Ryan Shaw got his Model Y detailed and ceramic-coated

Agree. This seems to fall more into the category of OCD rather than practical or useful. When you first pick up your car, they give you as much time as you want to look it over for defects. Spend a lot of time looking it over very carefully and let them know if there are any defects that you...

Is it me, or is the Model Y really ugly?

I agree, it's just a weird angle. Wasn't a big fan when it was first revealed by I think they've made some changes since the reveal and it looks great. I personally think the Model Y is the most beautiful vehicle they have right now.

Good to know! I purchased my car in April 2018 with FSD and still haven't received HW3. I feel like I'm beyond due.
