is this repairable or will it be totaled

Doubt highly that it would be totaled - looks like just replace trunk lid. The bumper may be cosmetic repair. As to areas to hit, this should not be so bad. But cannot know just based on these pics.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Saw the one in San Jose - Santana Row. You can be placed on waiting list for demo drives- was told likely in about 2 weeks (but who really knows).

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Not to really state the obvious, but it will be priced what people will pay for it. If it’s too high, and cars are not sold it will come down. Tesla has been fortunate to have products that people are willing to pay for the features / performance out of the gate. At some point, that will no...

    Best interior aftermarket value upgrades

To expand on above, “value” will be subjective. But if you were asking more about value as in return on investment or retaining money once you sell after having done interior upgrades, I would almost guarantee you will lose that money you put into it. So “value” then is all up to you (coming...

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Ok - have read the 180+ pages of this thread and all the minutiae of potential details to support or refute potential performance of new M3L….eagerly been waiting for the big reveal like everyone else. But as I see it, Elon’s MO would be to just use simple numerology for marketing 0-60 claims...

    NEM-PS Annual True-Up Calculation [PG&E example]

Have not been getting the B&W bill in mail, but you can still download from the PGE website. A little hidden... Login and then where it has the Acct number at the banner, click on the down carrot next to the number and then click on "My account & services"...should be able to figure out from there.

I think I’ve decided that a model 3 is better for me than a model s. Your thoughts?

They are certainly different cars ... to choose one over the other really depends on what you want in a car (and it's not just as a daily). Personally have had both as performance models but really enjoyed the model 3 the most. Its fun and agile...model S was like a power boat cruiser, fun...

Nasty scraping sound. I'm not sure if I need new front brakes...???

Brake pad wear indicator will only sound when applying brakes. It does not sound like that is it, particularly if it occurs with turning. Moreover, this is not a routine problem you are describing. Best to take it to service to have it looked at.

    Tesla Roof/Powerwall install

Not to make it more complicated, but it would likely help to know where your are...local/ county building codes can differ. Would really focus on contacting installer PM and/or local building code inspector. For instance, my stacked power walls are within 3ft of garage door without bollards...

    275/30R20

I do not know if that size would work, sounds too small in diameter but would need to look up. When you look up different size tires/wheels, you need to consider keeping diameter between 26.0 to 27.0 inches and the difference between front and and rear within 0.5 inches in order to be...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Hmmm... 18s up front and 20s in rear....try photoshop first. How about switch them for this kinda look:
  13. S

    275/30R20

Running w- front wheels as 20x9.5 ET35 with 275/30-20 tires, rear wheels 20x10.5 ET45 with 295/30-20 tires, lowered with -1.5 deg camber. They will still work and look very good with stock height and little less camber.

    PG&E Customers with 3 or more PWs: Interconnection NEM2, NEM2-MT, or NEM2-PS

You must have really pissed someone off at PGE that is still holding a grudge... sorry to hear, but NEM2-PS is just never going to be in the cards for you:oops:

Climate control slow to respond when starting car

Noted the past few months that the climate control set to auto temp does not adjust or turn on right away when "starting" or driving away with car. This has been most noticeable recently with cold weather...get in set a destination, drive away and final heat and seat warmers startup about a...

Tesla decided to re-route to a supercharger mid-drive when I didn't want it too!

I would concur with OP concerns. A choice in the nav redirection would be most appropriate for the software to confirm instead of automatically re-routing. I have certainly dealt with this annoyance before on longer trips when I know what charger I am going to make it to and it auto re-routes...

Discussion: Experiences Renting a Tesla Model 3 / Y from various companies

Rented from Hertz with similar experience as above. But just rented from Budget (not my go to but city airport location had very high demand and Hertz & Avis had no cars..ICE nor EV). Tesla was not an option on the Budget online reservation but I saw they were available onsite and switched. They...

    Solar Roof vs. Panels

Another pleased customer for solar roof here....no problems for the past 3 years. Was an early adopter as I really did not want solar panels on the front of my house that faces southeast. Was looking at panels when the solar roof V3 had come out. A lot depends on roof layout, home value with...

Model 3 Performance Tire or Wheel Damage?

Look over carefully, sounds very suspicious for damage...sometimes damage is not so easily seen on the outer portion of the wheel/tire. Do not forget to also look at the inner sidewall portion of the tire as well.

Wtb 20 inch M3 performance rims in silver.

Have 4 M3P wheels without tires - barely used as replaced with aftermarket right after delivery in 2018. Been hanging on to them, but willing to let go at this point.

How long does your tires last?

10-12,000 miles on Mich PS4S, typically replace every fall before the rains begin

Navigation prematurely routing too many charging stops on road trip

Not likely software glitch but poorly written software. Multiple factors at play including likely you did not have a consistent or efficient use of kWh per mile. So the current algorithm changes to a different destination supercharger when lower expected state of charge is estimated as you move...

Model 3 Performance (High Mileage Users)

Very cost effective for what you are doing - if concerned about tire cost, or than you do not have to stay with max perfornance summer tires. Regardless, you would still be saving on routine maintenance and charge costs for mileage.

    Carbon Fiber Inserts

Agree... Other thing to consider is that carbon fiber can interfere with keycard control of car on center console. Make sure you know and take into account this issue

    High mileage check-in

'18 M3P, 55k miles, 275 mi on full charge (309 when new), vast majority charging done at home to 90% Gone thru several sets of tires (my fault, not the car), multiple windshield rock chip repairs and replaced completely once (damn soft glass on windshield) Otherwise, only replaced 12V under...

07/24/2022 Another power outage in Pleasanton

Been pleasantly happy with how this has worked with power outages as well. They have occurred more frequently then I thought they would when deciding to proceed with solar.

Any Happy Bay Area Customers? Looking For Recommendations

Yes.... BTW, the Penisula and Bay Area in general will be prone to power outages (primarily due to fires or winds concerning for fire risk). We just had one last month for a day (some people a couple days) due to a fire in Redwood City Emerald hills area near the 280. AS to price points for...

Solar roof production before PTO vs after PTO

Solar roof production before PTO vs after PTO

To sum, you are not alone in this confusion about peak rates expected from the rated amount of panels (tiles in our case), or even about effect of PTO. There are similar posts just like yours. Moreover, I think your take away from the above comments …. It’s more complicated than what you were...

    Tire Diameters and AWD System

Single smaller tire … do not know, never had the opportunity to try (always made to destination for replacement tires). Two spares, definitely fine…but not what you likely want.
  34. S

    Tire Diameters and AWD System

No rubbing whatsoever…lowered to standard height for MPP sport coilovers (tire about ?? 2cm below lip) and camber about -1.5.
  35. S

7.2 kw system generates only 4 kw

Likely normal - can try to use PV watts website Calc to assess day production for time of year, direction and amount of panels.

Audio drops out and audible clicking sound

Yes - had this problem and went away after taking it to get serviced for that specific issue under warranty after it was occurring consistently everyday. Anything to do with the steering wheel roller ball controls, or even front sensors would trigger sometimes. They ultimately said it was...

    Title change

To the moderators….should just give up on declaring a year for the roadster on the title of this sub forum. Try instead: “Roadster - Next Gen” “Roadster - 2.0” “Roadster - the ghost cat” Up for other names??

Faded Tiles on Front of Home

Does not look right. Even sunlight hit on the tiles normally do not look like this. Almost looks like they were spot painted black and that is fading. Are these the newer metal versions of the tiles, or are they made of glass? I assume they are not active. I would make sure it is not something...

    Understanding PGE/SVCE electricity bills/TrueUP

As stated above, to really answer there are individual based details needed on your solar production vs usage, time of your use of major electrical loads, and desire to have backup and to what extent. Self powered is going to be like being off-grid. This would be fine if you using less than...

bollards on garage side wall in Riverside county, ca?

If this was truly a concern, I assume they would require bollards in front of every ESS install, inside or outside. What is preventing someone from accidentally swerving and hitting the batteries on the outside wall??

Solar developments in short & long term

Well, I did not mean to focus on the buyer's remorse point or the change in public policy angle. But was getting at people's impressions as to what was going to change and by how much from a technology standpoint. How much more efficient panels and tiles were going to get...something on the...

Solar developments in short & long term

Posing a general question... Maybe asking for those in the industry or otherwise in the know (which I certainly am not).... What are going to be the most significant developments / changes in products available for home solar (panels / tiles / batteries / inverters) in the next 5 years...

Anyone have a recent new home Solar Roof quote?

Agree with above...to truly get a better idea for comparison with people here, the details that would matter would be: -city / town -square foot of roof being covered -amount of Pv tiles (kW) being proposed -powerwalls or not Unfortunately, yes mine was expensive (and that was before the rate...

Tesla Solar Roof & Powerwall + 10 kW System Solar Generation is Lacking

Tesla Solar Roof & Powerwall + 10 kW System Solar Generation is Lacking

Would venture that you are seeing the drop at that time as transitioning from E to W tiles and you are likely not capturing the N ones as much as you would in summer (July 15) as those N ones would get maximized at the peak of day during summer and you would see as a fuller peak production...
