FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I mean in person here. Complaints i have seem largely supported here. Some people it does not bother as much. But I was talking about whether there would be interventions.
  2. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

This also supports what I am saying, regardless. There are multiple reasons for interventions regardless. And I am a perfectly normal driver. Everyone I know who has experienced FSD has the same complaints I have.
  3. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Someone who will gently press the accelerator when the car attempts to stop way before the stop line, so as to get it to stop at the actual line, especially when there is a trailing vehicle. Because that is just complying with traffic laws and norms.
  4. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Look, no actual normal person is going to use it without intervention with it behaving that way. End of story.
  5. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Bring it up in the context of v12 (aka v11 on the freeway). Just something I noticed. As others have said, maybe v12 will be better but at this point it’s a matter of telling Tesla to show us. And they are going to need to keep their mileage numbers up. TBD how they will accomplish that...

    Please refer to prior posts.

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Seems extremely unlikely at least initially given the stop position. Major tell.
  8. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Clever for Elon to extend prospect of 12.5 before 12.4 even is released. Yes.
  9. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

If 12.4 is still that bad, it is confusing to me what they have been doing for the last 3+ months!
  10. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Certainly still looks extremely broken. So disappointing at this point to see that. Obviously this does not help with producing training data. At least not this specific instance. Maybe they need help with their simulator? So confusing how it can be so awful.
  11. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

TMC, the only place on the internet you can come and say you are having problems with v11 slamming on the brakes in traffic on the freeway, and have people come back and say you should have said you meant stop-and-go traffic specifically and that you’re changing your story (AND get a bunch of...

    AP/FSD related crashes

Finally! It is such a good video and story (this was the second time this happened to the owner and for some reason they let it happen???), I am surprised it took so long. Seems fairly well verified too. I don’t know about the legitimacy of the Tesla Data but I assume that is legit (easy to...
  13. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Wut? If you’re free flowing on the freeway, there’s no traffic. When there is traffic it is inherently stop and go. That is the way things are. The only thing evolving is your understanding of the situation I laid out (which of course there is ambiguity in,but everything I described was...
  14. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Perhaps consider your following distance (actually time)? I’m not saying you follow too closely but clearly just because somebody in stop-and-go traffic suddenly slams on their brakes and goes from 10mph to 0 in a moment, there is no reason at all for you to do the same. You’ve got at least a...
  15. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

No. I want the car to slow down like a normal person would, obviously. It’s not a crisis. It doesn’t even take slamming, as we all know. Really annoying and pretty inconsistent but generally poor.
  16. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Specifically it is just a quite accurate measure of remaining usable energy. It does not have units of distance. Rated miles are units of energy (different units for every car model).
  17. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Not sure how people use v11 in traffic on the freeway. If someone in front of you jams on the brakes, so does v11. Unusable. Who does this? Fortunately rarely a use case for me. But alleged to be one of the good uses for FSD. Not recommended!

    AP/FSD related crashes

Thanks! I stand corrected on my estimate! It’s hard (for me) to tell in the video when braking began. I look for the nose dive but not obvious.
  21. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Not an edge case. Maybe this means we’ll have to wait for 12.5 for the fix to this very difficult problem. I am still betting on a 12.4 fix though. Crazy that people are still sacrificing their wheels! I just disengage before every right turn (and some left ones).
  22. AlanSubie4Life

    AP/FSD related crashes

Agreed. Just sounded like the general speed. Wasn’t clear to me that was the speed during this specific incident. It might be. It’s a little hard to tell. The video has been pulled now, though it is available on Twitter of course.

Craig, Do you have the speeds? I don’t think this was 60mph as speculated above Probably 45mph?

80% Charge is Only Showing 168 Mile Range? '22 MYP w/ 17K miles

This is not a BMS issue as was said. Just figure out why the car is stopping charging early. Turn on all notifications in the app, etc. possible some issue with on-board charger but you’d likely have an error message if so. So probably something is just stopping the charge. Look at WC...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Definitely one of the better enhancements over the years; makes driving much more consistent at a high SOC. Though I will disable it just for the challenge on occasion. For the wider audience of mainstream drivers, this consistency is probably also safer.

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

    Interesting. Wonder why not?
  27. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Yeah there may be differences. I use hold mode. Sure. I would actually like it to use the brakes at the end. Kind of not what it does at the moment. Seems unlikely to explain observed behavior. Or reality for that matter. Maybe it's just his wishful thinking, which as he says is a very...
  28. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Of course v12 was better. I always thought it would be an incremental improvement - otherwise they would not do it. I mean the answer to something beyond a decent L2 system. To be clear, maybe there is hope for a decent L2 system still. Not there yet. But only a few things have to be...
  29. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

This is definitely the final test! Once we have 12.4 we won't need 12.5 to know the trajectory. But I think we know how this is going to go. It's all a little sad. End-to-end was somehow not the answer! Who could have predicted this?

    Coronavirus

Unfortunately does not seem to be resulting in effective infection blocking. They should just try a double booster strategy and compare efficacy.

Slow down , speed up, slow down, speed up.

Can you post that here? I don’t really have any doubts - it was a tough situation for FSD, but people tend to be skeptical.

Make your robotaxi predictions for the 8/8 reveal

Tesla needs to duplicate the Spark EV. This Is The Way. This was the pinnacle of small EVs in the US and nothing better has come along since. Four doors and way shorter than anything currently in the US EV market. Also kinda peppy. I don’t have one in my garage for nothing. The real...

    Coronavirus

Yeah, seems like a non-issue. I wish they would double the cost and recommend a two-shot series of boosters in future, just to see whether it helps significantly with efficacy. Also, pick the right darn candidate for the virus. Hopefully they'll pick Flirt or whatever this year, but even...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Also, there is absolutely zero evidence for such a claim. There has been no published data showing any hint that that might be the case. I have no idea where people come up with that sort of thing.
  37. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Wonder if the old “warnings per mile” limit came into play? Might have taken more than 10 minutes to go three miles? Obviously dated at this point, and won’t reflect current implementation, but wonder if the underlying nag rates still do matter.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

@AAKEE has addressed this, he can give the actual correct information or you can search for his posts. Basically is expected a square root (fitted - I am not sure there is anything physical about that) relationship with time. As I understand it (very simply - this could be wrong): Physically...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I've never seen anything like that. I guess when it tells me to pay attention to the road, I do that. I guess I could experiment but don't really want a strike! That timing seems pretty aggressive. Is this on initial enabling of FSD? Or after it has been running for a while? Anyway...
  40. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I added some to my post. I think this makes sense. I've never experienced anything like what is described, though. It's not like I haven't seen or heard nags, either. To me it seems hard to get a strike if you're paying attention to the road. 10 seconds adjusting the route certainly...
  41. AlanSubie4Life

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Highly theoretical of course, as gross negligence or shocking lack of attention to what the car is telling you is required to get even one strike. So getting even close to five seems to be sort of a lifetime limit! I don’t even know how it happens to people with the latest software. They must...

    AP/FSD related crashes

Thanks for confirming you were using FSD(S). It's good for users to realize that their experience does not represent the entire set of conditions that FSD sees. FSD certainly can fail in interesting ways! Seems like a confirmed accident (obviously subject to attestation in a court of...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

This is all so boring now. Predictions for 12.4: 1) Won't be better at stopping in any appreciable way. It might stop at the stop line, I guess. Gonna guess Stutterfest and Slamarama will persist. 2) Won't pass Chuck's ULT. 3) Will read speed limit signs better. 4) Speed control will be...

    Coronavirus

I suspect NoVIDs are overrepresented in following this thread! A great thing about my used masks is that I have an enormous pile of used N95s which I can use for yardwork, using the leaf blower, etc., which is a game changer. So nice to block all that stuff and not be removing it from my...

    AP/FSD related crashes

If airbags don’t deploy it is not an accident, by definition. Were you using Autosteer (Beta) or FSD(S)? I have to say I am a little concerned about the repair costs on this one.

    AP/FSD related crashes

Remember people refer to AP as FSD. But in any case remember your personal experience with FSDS barely scratches the surface of possible outcomes. Occurred (potentially) in the free trial period which makes FSD(S) slightly more likely. I personally would guess it was Autosteer (Beta), but it...
