All Model 3s built since 9/1/2019 have a pedestrian warning speaker installed

or partially cover the speaker grill with tape to mute the sound if you don't want it so loud. I wish I had the sound for backing out of my garage which is blind.

Warm tires are a good thing when hammering ;-)

Totalled Model 3 [why didnt dashcam capture recording]

Remember TeslaCam also records the last hour of your drive, so if you had simply removed the USB within an hour of the accident you would have had the accident recorded.

    HomeLink Auto Close?

Yes LED and CFL bulbs can interfere with the signal. One solution is to extend the antenna on the opener unit. I simply spliced a several foot length of speaker wire onto it and routed it up to the ceiling. Works much better, especially when the LED bulbs are illuminated.

    Cabin air filter change tip

ok, thanks for the advice on OEM filter. Short of a visit to a service center parts counter, is there an online source?

    Cabin air filter change tip

What filter are you guys using? I see a lot of different options online. Not sure about a HEPA filter as I wouldn't want the filter to be too restrictive.

Issue with water getting trapped in door

Disappointing that Tesla wouldn't have this fixed by now.

Issue with water getting trapped in door

Just curious is this happening on recent builds too?

Want to buy a Model 3, insurance is crazy expensive

Break-ins do not drive insurance rates. Take a look at your policy. In my case comprehensive is less than 5% of the total.

    COVID-19 Impact on Tesla production?

The production line is shut down. Plant remains open to produce parts and assemblies for service centers.

Tesla Fremont Factory is shutting down

Agree, Elon defied a Judge's court order in Nevada...this is much easier to defy in my opinion.

    Mouse infiltrated Model 3

Curious by this thread I set up a motion activated infrared illuminated camera in front of my Tesla on the ground. Only thing I saw in a month was a lone silverfish that would come out and cruise in front of the camera every night. He eventually ate some bait I put out and I no longer see...

Suspension rattling sound turned out to be a loose bolt!

What does that bolt thread into? Can I just put a wrench on it and check the torque or is there a nut on the other side I need to hold as well?

    Full beam annoyance

In my experience, too slow to react to oncoming cars and mistakes reflections from road signs as oncoming cars and dims the lights.

    Full beam annoyance

I tried auto beams for one evening, decided to shut them off and have never used again. Not worth it unless they've redone their software.

New Stiffer Window Seals on 2020 Model 3?

I doubt it's the door seals making that much difference. Plenty of aftermarket supplemental seals that you can buy and most people that have installed them noted not much if any difference. If you haven't blocked the opening in the A pillar, I would try that first. Cheap and easy and most...

Issue with water getting trapped in door

Good point. Does anyone know if this seal is glued on or can I simple pull it down and reinstall to see if that helps?

    FM radio stopped working

My FM wouldn't work after the previous software update. But scroll wheel reboot fixed it.

Issue with water getting trapped in door

I compared the left and right door seals as was suggested above and both of mine look identical as far as I can see (both have 2 holes in the top and bottom of the seal at the bottom of the door), but only the right door holds water.

The Best way to improve your Model 3 Trunk Lighting

This looks good. I often have my trunk open for awhile after a bike ride and before loading the bike and I noticed that the trunk light goes out after a few minutes so adding brighter trunk lights won't solve that issue. One thing I wonder about though does the motion and shaking of the car or...

    Clicking/creaking front door hinges

Mobile service came out and identified the check straps as the problem. They had the parts Ubered from the service center and doors are completely silent now. Performed under warranty/goodwill.

My Model 3 interior making me sick (literally)

If he thinks the car is making him sick, then get some fresh air in the car and see if that helps.
  26. M

Issue with water getting trapped in door

Glad you got it fixed and kudos to your service center for sticking with it rather than taking the easy way out. I'll take a close look at the holes in the seal on mine and might consider punching a hole myself if the current ones aren't in alignment.

Somebody selling my wrecked model 3 VIN in a different car

I recall reading somewhere that Florida is a haven for salvage title fraud...cars get 'laundered' through Florida and then resold in other places with no salvage title anymore.

Model 3 showing wrong kWh consumption?

Short trips are worse as the energy required to heat up the car is a lot. If you were to do a longer drive, the car would be warm and not nearly as much heat needed to keep it warm.

    Solved: wind noise

It would be interesting to open up the A pillar from the interior so see for sure that this hole is entering where we think it is, but if it is, there is no water draining through the inside of the A pillar which houses wiring, insulation and an airbag, none of which should be getting wet. In...

    Solved: wind noise

I believe the picture is accurate and that his fix encompassed two things: filling the visible gap between the A pillar and front fender pieces and then also blocking the hole in the A pillar. It took me awhile looking very closely to see the hole the OP is talking about. Best seen from the...

    I can't locate a very annoying rattle.

I fixed it myself in about a minute based on what I've read on this forum. Placed a strip of cloth tape over the metal loop, done. The latch is just a little bit loose and the tape snugs it up.

    I can't locate a very annoying rattle.

I don't think it's lack of structural strength causing your issues...saw a recent thread about a wheel falling off a Model 3 and chassis was so strong the rotor didn't even hit the ground. Never heard any flex from my roof...rear seat latches made some noise when going over uneven surfaces and...

I assumed this speaker was for warning chimes, etc. Do those sounds come through the sound system?

    Clicking/creaking front door hinges

Was your car more than a year old when you had it replaced? Hopefully they don't consider this same as a creak and will not warranty past a year.
  35. M

    Clicking/creaking front door hinges

Interesting, just looked up 'Check Strap' in the parts catalog and indeed the Check Strap is the middle hinge. Were both of yours bad too? I read in a Model S thread that this can be done by mobile service, so we'll see.
  36. M

    Clicking/creaking front door hinges

Does anyone else get several clicks/creaks when closing the front doors? I've isolated it to the center hinge (touch it when moving the door and you can feel the clicking) and lubed/greased the crap out of that hinge and the others, but no change to the clicking sound. Suggestions?

    Brake Light: Regen Braking!

I was wondering the same thing when I first got my Tesla. The display in the car shows when your brake lights come on and the algorithm Tesla uses works very well...I looked at it quite closely when I first got the car. Does not keep flashing the brake lights during normal freeway driving...

    Solved: wind noise

Intrigued, so jammed some stick on foam weatherstripping in the holes before going out tonight. It really makes a substantial difference! Bravo Dutchchili for figuring this out. A long time ago, I noticed the unsealed bottom of the chrome strip that goes around the window and did the same for...

yes, I'm aware of that, just trying to understand if most of the people having this issue are parking outside or in an open garage.

    Mouse infiltrated Model 3

Curious if you park outside or if your garage is open or is an old garage with areas for mice to get in. Never seen any signs of mice in my garage, but these posts are making me a bit nervous. I do make a point of mopping the floor around my car with ammonia once in awhile. Also placed some...

Lightweight wheel owners - your feedback on unsprung reduction vs stock

So for those that went from stock 20s to forged 18s, how is the cornering with the bigger sidewall? One thing I love about my car is the sharp steering response and some of that probably comes down to the low profile sidewalls of the 20s.

How is the 3 without the HEPA filter?

In another thread someone reported that the 2020 performance is much stiffer riding than earlier model performance, so perhaps they've changed the suspension. In 2019 and before the only difference between performance and other cars aside from motors/power is 10mm lower springs and different...

How is the 3 without the HEPA filter?

Test drive a different P, they are no noisier. You'd think they might be, but I think the softer rubber compound on the Pilots offset the lower profile.

Will emergency braking system prevent the car from

Probably not...there was a post on here from a guy that ran into a wall in a parking garage. As others have noted it would not be the AEB feature that would help you as that does not operate below 7mph. Obstacle aware acceleration could possibly help, but I've seen a few posts about hitting...

    Is my Model 3 totaled

They do sound high, but $50 bill rate for a mechanic? With typical overhead that means the mechanic is making maybe $20/hour. That's way below market for a real mechanic, especially for one that has had Tesla training.
