Pic of your Model 3.......RIGHT NOW! [model 3 pictures thread]

3 years old next month. Still looks like new. Still feels new to me too for some reason.

Best wheel for handling on M3 2021 LR (18 vs 19" vs 19" aftermarket)

Range was impacted maybe 20 wh/mile, but we won't ever know if thats from the rims or the tires. I have much nicer tires than the 18" came with.

Wall charger gen 3, webpage never loads

Awesome, thanks John. I had figured out I could reactivate the initial wifi and that let me check for firmware updates (there weren't any). Seems odd to serve a webpage that has nothing on it though.

Wall charger gen 3, webpage never loads

Hello, I just installed a gen 3 wall charger and after I told it breaker size and local wifi info, the website served from the wall charger never finishes loading. I wanted to have it check for firmware updates but this is all I see: I tried restarting the wall charger (disconnect at...

    Thoughts On e-tron GT Family

This is a good site (if you haven't seen it before): Teslike.com Tesla used a blended rate for their AWD vehicles, if the P was tested with the performance rims and all, it would have had a 280 mi rating. LR RWD 3 was one of only two Teslas rated lower than it should have been.

Tesla legal claims MCU is a wearable part, like tires

You didn't provide any reason for your statement. I guess you didn't know how NAND wears. It's cool, not everyone knows what they're talking about.

Tesla legal claims MCU is a wearable part, like tires

You didn't articulate or explain your logic in your previous statement; I was agreeing with you, not disagreeing, while adding why this was Tesla's fault and no one should expect their MCU to die this fast. Maybe take a chill pill.

Tesla legal claims MCU is a wearable part, like tires

Having owned several Porsches in the past, Porsche reliability has been garbage for most of its lifespan. Its only after having Japanese firms come over and redesign their manufacturing and design processes that their reliability improved. The number of SERIOUS mechanical issues in any Tesla...

Tesla legal claims MCU is a wearable part, like tires

Aside from English car companies, I don't think the general public expects the car's electronics to last a shorter time than the wear components like transmission, motors, battery, etc. And if you look at anything else the public touches with similar flash memory, the expected lifespan is going...

Long Term Depreciation of the Plaid S

lambo countach in person is underwhelming. The interior doesnt even look like its kit-car quality. There was one for sale near me in NJ around 1998. I passed on buying it. It definitely would have appreciated in actual value if I had bought it. I had two Porsches at that time and was already...

Long Term Depreciation of the Plaid S

I think the iphone comparison is valid with Tesla vehicles. How much are people paying for the old iphone 4, 5, 6? The original iphone would be the roadster. It's older tech, slower, less battery life, doesn't run the new apps and games. Less features, lower res display. Not a lot going...
  14. TMThree

Long Term Depreciation of the Plaid S

Limited production is why value is going up. Cars Tesla currently makes are mass produced, if they become popular in the future, its because most of them are no longer on the road. So it depends on how well they age. If they age well, value won't be that great. If they age poorly... well, good...

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

I bought a model 3 seat off ebay for $400 delivered. Vehicle had very low miles, 12000 or something. This was passenger seat with no wear that I could see. After removing the airbag, I wired it up and mounted it on an ikea foot stool. I later changed the foot stool to a black version. It's a bit...

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

I ordered the AWD CT the day after the reveal (AWD). But later I went back and ordered 4 more CT's, one in each config I thought I might want. I wasn't sure at the time which one I'd want in a few years time.... I went back a few months ago and cancelled all reservations other than the AWD and...

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

500 mile range, it's got to have 120+ kwh battery. I don't think the car needs 500 mile range, that's more of the result of adding enough cells for the power draw it needs to have the acceleration numbers they want.
  18. TMThree

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

That's the funny thing. People rag all day long on Tesla for being heavy, when they're comparing a 4200 lbs ICE to a 4500 Tesla. But then talk about how great the handling is on the 5222 lb heavy Porsche Taycan. The same people.

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

No one said tailgate. You draft behind other vehicles all the time. There's a huge difference between being head of the line or being behind other vehicles. Try it sometime instead of mouthing off.
  20. TMThree

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

you can improve your range by drafting behind other vehicles. Especially if you can get behind a box truck, van, semi. Then you can go 80 and the penalty is similar to driving 60.

    Model X and S 12V battery finally going Li-ion

The 12v battery also provides the power necessary to throw the relay which connects the main battery. Without this, the relay connecting the main battery will not close, and the main battery remains disconnected. The car cannot turn on, and cannot run or be charged. I assume the main battery...

    Model X and S 12V battery finally going Li-ion

I'm going to guess you won't be seeing a $50 price tag, since you can't even get a regular 12v for that. And tesla seems REALLY good with their pricing. Try to get a new bumper for your tesla compared to anyone else.

Thats a small minded comment there. Good enough for you doesn't mean good enough for everyone else. My hayabusa is much faster than your car and I would still like to go faster. If you went on the Prius forums, they would say your car should cost half as much and be twice as slow because what...

If you could change one thing about the Model 3...

I want user definable engine sounds for fun (would be more fun than the fart generator). And active sound cancelling audio system. I'd also like steering improvements like the aftermarket end bars give, so it has better steering feel. Maybe sway bars too. Not interested in air suspension that...
  27. TMThree

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

Using this logic, everyone would own something like a Prius. Because I Can take your current logic and say that you can go with an EV with a 0-60 of 9 seconds and it would be more efficient than yours with everything else being equal. Then we'd end up with 11 second 0-60 speeds.
  28. TMThree

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

plad will suck juice from the battery at higher rates. the larger the battery, the less juice is pulled per cell. Doing plad on a 25k car is dumb because if they can't do it on a 75kwh battery, they won't be doing it on a 50kwh battery.

    not a drivers car.

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

You're describing the AWD to P on the model 3. Same vehicle other than the power delivery. And of the people who get the P, half of them seem to want the stealth because the 20" rims have a harsher ride and also are heavier which negatively affects performance.
  31. TMThree

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

The biggest constraint on the 3 would be the battery. They can't fit 100kwh into the chassis with the current gen of cells. But with the new rolled battery, if it's compact enough and energy dense enough to fit 90-100kwh into the 3's chassis ... then it should work. Otherwise, you're talking...

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

Tesla would keep the same interior. They aren't good at changing the assembly line without incurring cost. That's why they dropped the idea of the cheaper cloth interior on the base 3, it would have cost them more to have two interiors.
  33. TMThree

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

lol. You're in the slow 3, using the slow mode, with the cheapest price, this thread was never something that would interest you. And a faster 3 would be the best driving vehicle Tesla makes. Till roadster2 comes out.
  34. TMThree

Would you pay $90-100K for a Plaid Model 3?

CT is 70k, tri motor, 500 mile range, air suspension. And a lot bigger, with a lot more capacity.

MY Old Console VS New Console

^ His video says they can't wrap around the edges, but my ppf install wraps the edges. You can see the cutouts at the corners (that are exposed when the doors are opened) to allow it.
  36. TMThree

MY Old Console VS New Console

its a flat surface, and you spray baby shampoo+distilled water mixture on the console before applying the ppf, so you can slide it around into position. So it's about as easy as installing ppf on your iphone.

    New 2021 Model S Unveiled January 27, 2021

not only that, you want a design style for your vehicles. The S was made in 2012 when their goal was to make it look like a regular car. The dash was tall like a regular car (for no reason). The exterior looked like a regular car (not a bad thing). They didn't make it look like a car built for...

You'll change your tune in time. It always takes some time to get used to something new. When the CT was shown, I went, WOW THAT IS UGLY! NO THANKS. The next day I put in an order for one. The model S interior looked dated and terrible next to the 3. Not just my opinion, I overheard multiple...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

mine is +35 and if I did it again, I'd do at least +30. The +22 looks a bit too wide for me, I'd be scared of it hitting the fenders. But the pic above appears lowered too, so maybe it would be ok with stock suspension.
