AS-1 Line Tint

Hello, I have tint on the windshield but sometimes wish the top strip was tinted darker (down to the as-1 line).
Is anyone doing this anymore and how'd it come out for you? Is it helping in the areas that the sun visor doesn't reach?

I just got that done today, so haven't tried it out yet in the sun. However, I'm sure it will help because I got the whole windshield done in 70% and the strip done in 20%, making the strip equivalent to 14%.

Several times I was driving Westward in the early evening as the sun was low and right at the AS-1 area at the top of the windshield, been thinking about adding a strip, finally did it this evening. The tint shop where I had all the windows done was charging around $150 for the strip, but they use a computer to cut the tint, my passenger side appears to be a little lower than the driver side. I had some extra Walmart Black Magic 35% window tint left over from about 5 years ago when I added extra tint to my Kia Sportage SX. I already have LLumar 80% Air installed, so this makes the strip 32%. one of the benefits of an EV is that had the A/C on with the garage door closed and not have all the engine exhaust like an ICE vehicle.

I cut mine to 6"

installed driver side. got most of the fingers out with a heat gun on low. had a tiny crease on the left side, and a few tiny fingers on the very top.

had more trouble with the fingers on the passenger side. heated one of them too long and it bubbled up and warped a bit. a couple of tiny fingers at the very top. and the bottom left corner by the camera housing was cut a sliver too short.
