I think this shows at a minimum a willingness on Musk's part to work through this, to fully address the concerns of the aggrieved. Likely that process will happen with lawyers and will mostly remain confidential under an NDA. So I do not expect that there will be any more public statement of apology, unless that is what Mr, Unsworth negotiates as part of settlement. I also do not get the impression that Vern wants to bring much media scrutiny to himself, so he also benefits from settling discretely out of court. No, he didn't. An apology is addressed to the aggrieved party. Hearing that your uncle billing feels bad that he called you a pedo at the last family party is not an apology, is it?
I also do appreciate that Musk has apologized to his investors and supporters. We have all be impaired financially and emotionally by this indiscretion. Speaking for myself as an investor, I prefer that Musk will settle this discretely with Unsworth to minimize any reputational damage to Tesla and shareholders.
