I recently went into a S that I had access to, I wanted to look at some CAN data. I've done this many times, but this car didn't have the same diagnostic connector under the touch screen that I've seen in all other model S's I've been in. Keep in mind, this S has a build date of December 2015, quite new.
This connector looks different, but has the same number of pins. Its also paired with the 4 pin ethernet connector. I have not yet cross checked the wire coloring, but it wouldn't surprise me if Tesla started using a different type of connector (proprietary?) to prevent us from getting in to the CAN.
Does this connector looks familiar to anyone? Any one have part numbers for the female end?
