Those insured with Geico: did the online system recognize your 16-digit VIN?

I recently switched after finding out my current insurance company (Allied) does NOT offer glass coverage standard and it would have been an additional $200/yr to add it. Geico came out to $300 cheaper per year with better coverages so I switched.

Online account and my insurance ID cards though all show some weird 14-digit VIN and I'm afraid this may cause issues if I ever need to actually use it for insurance.

Yeah, my VIN was recognized. I was hit a few months ago and the closest shop to me (1.5 hours away) has a policy on the wall that says they do not accept Geico. If you intend to use Geico you have to pay cash and try to get reimbursed by them. Yikes.
