Oh, This is so cool! And a perfect timing as tesla has just released the 100KWh. Do you need anything like the factory mode to enable 100KWh , or is it just a plug and play?100KWh

I believe there may have been a little metal piece connecting the two terminals but I'm not sure

I tried something like that once with a set of 36 volt floor buffer batteries and a Craftsmen wrench. I had to take back to Sears in a ziplock baggy....Try bridging with a screwdriver

You are missing the pyrofuse assembly.
