Ok, back to the original topic... After another 98 days, I finally received a SW update. Yep just like my initial complaint, which was 99 days, I received 2024.14.8 on the 30th of May. We took a short trip to Houston after the update so I was unable to post until today. If you recall, I complained that I received a SW update in early October ’23 and then nothing until early February ’24 when I sent a complaint to Tesla via the APP. Soon there after and for the next three weeks, I received about four more SW updates, then more crickets.
Fast forward to the 28th of May when I lobbed another complaint grenade at Tesla via the APP and, as before, on the 30th of May I received 2024.14.8. which appears to be a bug fix for 2024.14. Folks, we shouldn’t have to complain to Tesla to get regular updates. Yes, I realize that Tesla doesn’t have to provide them, but they DO, or did. Counting this last update, I have received 103 updates since I bought the car in April of ’19.
I’m not sure what was included in the 11 missed updates since last February, but this one stinks. Oh, and I never received the 2023 Holiday update either. But I digress, as mentioned, my wife and I took a trip to Houston last Friday after the Thursday update, returning today. The biggest issue I found was nagging while in AP. In the olden days, when I was in AP I would get nagged every 30 to 60 seconds depending on the speed. Now it nags me every 10 seconds regardless of the speed. I know, the wife took her cell phone, pulled up a stopwatch app and timed several nag intervals… 9 to 11 seconds, so 10 seconds on average. This is completely absurd! I will be lobbing another complaint grenade to Tesla on this.
One of the more curious issues is range. I have an SR+ which should give me 240 miles. However, for the last few years, and I don’t know when it started exactly, but I have only been able to charge to 91% of the 240 giving me about 220 miles, hmmm…. On this trip I used a few superchargers and even though I was set to charge to 100%, on the screen, may be why I’m only able to charge to 91%. The display shows that I have a charge limit of 220 miles, see pic below. Not sure why, but this too will be in my complaint to Tesla. So, I ostensibly have a Standard Range Model 3 and not a Standard Range Plus model 3. I did some research on this forum and found that I’m not the lone ranger, others have had similar issues with their SR+ somehow being reprogrammed to an SR M3.
Also, I noticed lots and lots of phantom braking.
Finally, on our return trip we hit 15K on the ODO...
