Try telling that to the instructor. In any event, the car passed and he passed. The parking brake explanation is in the manual.
Unfortunately the manual is electronically only in the car.

SMH. I did. The instructor did not.Everyone is required to know their car.
That's actually the law.

The parking brake is pretty much automated, if you stop on a slope the car will hold it's position until you hit the accelerator again. If you hold in the button on the end of the right stalk it will engage the park brake.
There’s no need to hold the button, just press and release it. The model 3 does not have a second set of brake calipers for the parking brake. All holding the button down does is re-tighten the already tight brake calipers and display a P on the screen.Hold the parking button and the ebrake will engage. The red (P) will appear.

Or the parking brake, whatever.
My car has not arrived yet, and I have not been able to spot the e-brake in any of the videos.
just wondering ….

I have done this several times at highway speeds. It is no big deal. You get a flashing message “Emergency Brake applied” and of course the car slows up. If it is unintentional you release the button and use the other one to wash the windscreen....Imagine accidentally pressing it while at highway speeds.
I guess it depends on if he was asking about using it when moving or not, since he asked about the e-brake and the parking brake. Several people have said that you need to hold down the button to use it as a parking brake, which isn’t true. To use it into bring the car to a stop you have to hold it down. No, you have to hold it to use it as an e-brake. Don't confuse putting it in park with engaging the emergency brake (e-brake) while the car is moving.
When you put it in park the parking brake will engage automatically, to do this while driving you must hold it. This also helps avoid accidental engagements. Imagine accidentally pressing it while at highway speeds.
It's also available via google search, no need to login.
