Here's what the plate looks like.

Look at the bottom of your battery pack near the front wheel on the passenger side. If you see an access plate to the pyro fuse, you do not have a Gen 1 or 1.5 battery.

One point I want to bring up is the KBB value I quoted is for a 2017 Model S 75D, not a 2017 Model S 90D. I am not trying to sell and price the car as if it were a 90D.

@Zhem, I think I misread your question. It is unknown what Tesla would do in the scenario you proposed. Tesla does what it wants to do.

I think they decided not to cap it. They were replacing a 75kWh battery that had a max range of @250 miles and @25K miles on the odometer. The service invoice just states: "Concerns - Replace High Voltage Battery due to BMS temperature sensing fault. Verified customer concern, replaced HV...
