Help Evaluating my Battery Analysis (2012 85kwh)

How much is the asking price? It certainly is an early model, 2,451st off the production line? Buying a used Model S:

Risk Manangnent of Buying AP1 Model S

When brand new, the battery would have had 68.8 kWh usable capacity and so after allowing for degradation and the 4 kWh buffer on the bottom end, those numbers look OK to me, particularly when I compare them to my S75 with 9% degradation after 94,000 miles. There are many people here who have a...

2018 Model S "oil in coolant"

Many thanks for the update, I was wondering what the outcome was. I'm really sorry to hear just how badly you have been treated. Unbelievable.

Risk Manangnent of Buying AP1 Model S

I would go for the 90D on the basis that a warranty that excludes the HV battery and other frequently faulty parts is not worth having.

    Air Suspension/Spring Replacement UK

I have never owned a car with air suspension but from what I read, Tesla just fit new air suspension units rather than repair. Your best bet would be to track down an independent garage used to overhauling Mercedes air suspension systems.

“Milling” sound on 2013 85, RDU doomed or…?

Quite possibly the sealed rotor bearings have failed due to a leaking coolant seal, a very common problem on the Large Drive Unit. Probably cheaper to have the LDU rebuilt rather than replace. This topic has been widely discussed on this forum, e.g. Class action for Model S drive unit failure?

X90D battery being replaced with 75kwh battery under warranty!?

Well done. This appears to be a battery which was new in April 2022 but has been remanufactured but there is no 'R1' suffix. I suspect that Tesla have changed their labelling sequence as I have not seen one before starting: 'TL22'. Normally it would start 'T17A' for a battery brand new in...

X90D battery being replaced with 75kwh battery under warranty!?

P.S. The usable capacity of these batteries is worth knowing about: Tesla’s hacked Battery Management System exposes the real usable capacity of its battery packs

X90D battery being replaced with 75kwh battery under warranty!?

I'm not sure about the performance of the car as the 75 kWh battery is only 350V compared with 400V for the 90 battery. Someone with more knowledge than me might suggest that the 75 kWh battery and related fuses may not be able to deliver the power quick enough. But as the car is not a 'P'...
