    First-Gen RAV4 EV (1996-2003)

Here's a bit of fun - my car in Japan. https://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/20/ebay-find-of-the-day-right-hand-drive-rav4-ev/ These videos were uploaded by the then owner. The reaction by his friend is pretty funny.

    First-Gen RAV4 EV (1996-2003)

Bouncing this thread as, contrary to what he claimed, it's been good for another 14 years! Yes, I have now bought this car. It's been a case of third time lucky - I tried to buy it in 2010 from the OP and again in 2018 from the guy that was ahead of me in 2010. The last time I saw it, it was in...

    3.0 Battery Longevity

It doesn't really look like the gen 2 3.0 is any better than the gen 1. My gen 1 is now hovering around CAC of 184.

    Carbon Fiber Body?

Bouncing this. Does anyone have the PDF from from http://www.speautomotive.com/SPEA_CD/SPEA2009/pdf/KEY/K4.pdf please? It seems archive.org does not.

    Validation Prototypes (VPs)

Or they backed into a curb or something like that. I should also point out that it has been off the road for at least 11 months. The MOT (British mandatory technical test) expired in May last year and the car has done a grand total of 117 miles since I saw it in 2019. My money would be on it...

    Validation Prototypes (VPs)

I called in at the Winchester service centre last week for a quick supercharge in my Model Y. I'd been tipped off by @Mark77a that VP12 was around the back under a cover, along with 2 other Roadsters, so had to see for myself. I hope it is not being used as a parts Christmas tree, because...

    215/50R18 Tire?

Bouncing this as I was wondering if anyone has run the Martian Wheels MW03 18x7.5" on a Model Y?

Tesla FSD - A Five Year Perspective

What's worse is hobbling your existing cars by removing driving controls because you are so convinced this world of autonomous driving is just around the corner.

Tesla Vision coming to radar-equipped cars on 2022.24.6

    1) If it's been released in the US for a while, why would they need to start at lower speeds for wide release? 2) I didn't buy a 50 grand car to be a guinea pig and have functionality that I paid for taken away. If I wanted to be that I would allow the "advanced" beta software updates. I...

Tesla Vision coming to radar-equipped cars on 2022.24.6

Great, so I can no longer set follow distance 1 (mandatory in UK rush hour traffic to stop people cutting in) and I lose 10 km/h from the speed I can use cruise control on the autobahn. How is this an improvement?

    Hydrogen vs. Battery

I think that is already disproven by the fact that battery has already won in the bus market where battery buses number in the tens of thousands (there are some small hydrogen bus projects but they are pretty much all subsidised with public money) and battery is ahead in the truck market as...

    Tow hitch availability?

Has anyone had any further updates on this? Misterdotcom still say they are finalising their Model 3 product, after a bit of a hitch... Did anyone get a Model S version and successfully insure it in the UK with the TÜV certificate?

    Hydrogen vs. Battery

When your loaner Mirai test accidentally uncovers the truth... As soon as a few cars need to use a station, it all goes wrong. I can't agree with his conclusion either as a) some EVs now can do 10-80% in the time he is waiting in line, b) You can build a 20-bay supercharger for the cost of one...

    Hydrogen vs. Battery

Yep - Brexit benefit at last? The waste in rolling out these stations in Germany is on another level.
