    Coolant leaked. Ran over debris.

Be sure it's not still leaking coolant. There is a very sensitive place in the front of the battery where the coolant hoses go in. If that breaks right at the inlet, Tesla wants to change the whole battery. There is a DIY fix where I've seen a coupler threaded in but it's risky. It's the...

Would you Purchase a model Y Again?

If there is a dramatic increase in range, indeed, that would drive sales, because it increase feasibility of ownership for those who have to visit commercial chargers. A single charge a week for example, vs fighting for a charger every few days makes a big difference. And yes, it would quell...

Would you Purchase a model Y Again?

Right now, yes. I also own an old ICE pickup. If Rivians become affordable, I'd go that route and sell them both. Those damn ugly headlights though.... The EV market/technology is very fluid. It's telling how they're are holding back the Chinese EVs with tariffs. I saw one that goes over...

A boomer mods his booming Y. The fix

Guys, this has nothing to do with the buffeting from a window being open. Do you think we would have figured out how to close it by now?

A boomer mods his booming Y. The fix

Most people assume that the issue is caused by the hatch lid oscillating. I drove with the hatch wide open and still heard it, though a bit lesser, since there was no glass for the sound to bounce off. Anyway, if it works for you, that's great.

    Charging Rates/How to find them

Call and tell them you have an EV and ask for an EV rate. They will explain the cheaper rates, come out and switch your meter for a TOU meter. I started the process in advance of my delivery date and they completed it once I had proof of ownership. You will enter all your rate info into the...

    Continental Tire Cut < 45 Days(1600 Miles)

I know you're the tire guy and all, but I personally wouldn't assume that hole in the pic is benign. I'd stick something into it to see how deep it goes before I'd keep driving on it. Maybe you're right but I'd verify cause it could be deeper than it seems.

    Tire losing air

Be wary of any construction sites you're driving past.

Why didn't Tesla offer a non-stagger wheel option for the MYP?

    Geminis ain't so bad....

    Tire losing air

Submerging the tire in water is a sure fire way. Even a slow leak produces bubbles. Smaller leaks = smaller bubbles. This is what the tire shops do. I don't mean spraying water on it on the car.

    Tire losing air

A hard to find leak can be found by putting the tire in water so you can see the bubbles. This means the bathtub when the wife ain't home.

Need help deciding on a purchase

The MYP wheels are staggered, so no rotating and tires get more expensive, the larger they get. I'm happy with the 19s and aftermarket plastic covers.

Cracked roof, any chance it's covered under warranty?

Only one way to find out. Nothing tried... nothing done.

Discussion: Resale values - depreciation -- Time to buy resale or wait?

People's memories are getting shorter every day. The price of EVs might be going down right now, but all it takes is one world event to drive up oil prices ands they'll come running. Just a few short years ago, we were up over $5 a gallon...
