    Elon & Twitter

I'm super concerned for Elon's information diet so to speak. In the US you have a REALLY big problem with disinformation (duh) if even someone historically as level headed, rational and first-principles oriented can be dragged down in to this morass of lies and display his ignorance to the world...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think you're on the right track here; My view is he knew he was going to sell, wanted to couple his selling with a bit of a publicity stunt in where he could 1) show that he does intend to pay his taxes in the way he's supposed to when he realizes gains 2) that taxing unrealized gains is a...

Of course it should be a catalyst, but (and I know you get it) it has to be understood in the correct way. My hunch is many in the market don't understand this in the correct way - they see a headline that says Hertz has ordered 100.000 Teslas, they know that "Tesla only sold 500k cars in 2020...

So is Hertz, Avis, Alamo and Enterprise going to build their own Tesla factory or something? No, they are the going to have to get in line with the rest of us. Because I know for a fact that there are no special deals available for anyone, and no cutting in line, everyone pays the same for their...

Yeah I guess you're right. Or you could say there's no time value in a deep ITM call option anyway. For example a Jan2023 $500 strike call option costs $658 right now (TSLA230120C00500000 (TSLA230120C00500000) Stock Price, News, Quote & History - Yahoo Finance) which is basically the cost of...

If there is significant time left until expiration you'll essentially be giving away the time value so not a good idea. Edit: So if you are to to this you should wait until close to expiry so that any time value left in the option is negligable.

Combined Charging System (what we used to call the Frankenplug connector back in the day).

Are those prices the cost in addition to what a Tesla owner pays (which in turn depends on "today's price of electricity") or is that the full pricing details?

What exactly does "shareholder approval" mean in this context. When they did the split in August 2020, the announcement read: "Tesla, Inc. (“Tesla”) announced today that the Board of Directors has approved and declared a five-for-one split of Tesla’s common stock in the form of a stock dividend...

This is kind of a surprising catalyst IMO for a 15% move, breaking the $1000 wall and all. Hear me out: Hertz don't buy cars, do they? They lease? And all I've seen are news articles, not really any specific agreement, time line or anything. We know Tesla don't do deals (everyone pays the same)...

I think we're making a run for $1000 . Next milestone: 1 Trillion market cap? I think they're going to have to add some new incentives to Elon comp package soon. Remember how "everybody" laughed when it was presented in 2018? Well, they're not laughing now... All the market cap...

I see. But the official short interest numbers do reflect some type of sentiment, so one would assume that obscured/naked/illegal/indirect shorting would correlate? I take the point about needing shareholder approval.

Long time lurker here. So with offical short interest up 8% in the last reporting session (29 million shares short, up from 27 million) which was Septh 30th (TSLA closed at $781 on Sept 30th), how about a new 1:3 or 1:4 or even 1:5 split soon, using the exact same mechanism as the August 2020...
