    2024 Insurance Costs

Churchill went from £440 to £614 (+40%) so I searched the market and went with Tesco for £527, although not the cheapest (Aviva was £738!). My wife's car was £205 and went to £281 (+37%). Now also with Tesco at £214. It pays to shop around!

    LFP range in decent weather

Your image IMG_1384.jpeg shows that 64.3% battery was consumed to travel 129.9 miles. Therefore, 129.9 miles / 0.643 battery = 202 miles for 100% battery consumed. That is pretty normal for a 55kWh LFP battery in the type of weather we've been getting recently.

    2024 model Y battery type

You will get an 60kWh LFP battery, in a RWD.

How is my LFP battery holding up after 2 years?

I only charge to 100% once a week and it may be left at that SoC for 3 - 4 hrs. That's less than 2% of the batteries lifetime at 100%. On average my battery is at 60% SoC. I don't feel that is too bad for the batteries health and complies with Tesla's requirements. After all the car is for using...

    UK Charge Point Installer Recommendations

A Tesla gen 3 charger is £470 and a pen fault box is about £130 = £600 parts plus labour and cables breaker parts, etc. You would normally end up around £1,000 depending upon difficulty...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Auto wipers will never work! The fact that they are now changing (again) the manual wiper mode to up/down on the scroll wheel or pressing the wiper button, is a sure sign that they have given up trying to get the auto wipers to actually work...

New owner here. Got a question…

Most of my drives over the last couple of weeks have had reduced regen icon. It normally goes away when temperatures reach 15C or more. However we've had some cold nights and it will take hours for the battery temperature to increase to that level during the day. Wait a few weeks and things will...

New owner here. Got a question…

You only need to preheat, if you want to get maximum range, when going on a long trip for example. For general, day to day, drives it doesn't really help and leads to poor efficiency.

    Renew your EV Road Tax

Mine is the same! 1,972.6 x 6.99 = £13,7.89 and they charged me £137.92 Maybe the error is in the conversion from Cubic meters to kWh, but at least they should show the correct kWh used. And in my case it would have to be 1,973.1 kWh to make the calculation correct...

    Hows your adaptive high beam?

No, adaptive only works on high beam. I'm almost 100% sure that dipped beam remains unchanged, as from before.

    Hows your adaptive high beam?

It's up to you... You can push the stalk forward to change from dipped to adaptive and back again, but I think it goes back to adaptive at the start of each drive. Personally, I prefer to see pedestrians or cyclists on the side of the road, so I will use adaptive where ever possible, however if...
