Model 3 RWD Purchased November 2023

Updates: My wife isn’t really comfortable trying to take the car ~110 miles away to her Mom’s place to stay for a few days and recharge at 115 Volts or on supercharger alone yet. She took the 2007 Honda Pilot supposedly to observe my daughter’s ability to make the drive, and then the second...

    Discussion on this WSJ article

"New for 2024 are a touch-screen display for the rear cabin; ventilated front seats; and dual wireless charging pads.": Pretty sure my 2023 has dual wireless charging pads. So at least that is not “all new.” This is the first U.S.-market Tesla to rely on lithium iron-phosphate (LFP)...

Thank you! I forgot about the plug on the wall charger too, but I had no idea these things were true.

    Discussion on this WSJ article

I think the sentiment of this article is on key, but details seem so wrong. https://stocks.apple.com/A8GdZ7f5jQ5OVO_nhxf-ixA I always thought of WSJ as a reliable source. - first LFP? - $7500 tax credit in 272 mile range lease in 2024. Am I wrong here? - 272 mile range for 2024? Didn’t that...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

Less than 4000 miles and five months old on my 2023 and it’s down to 268 miles at 100% charge now.

Seat rail trim cover - how to replace?

My son found a piece of the seat track cover on the floor of the car this morning. It’s only about an inch and a half long and the outer top cover corner. I guess I’m going to superglue it back on. This is a bummer on a car that is only five months old.

    8x17 et45 2004-2006 Acura TL wheels fit M3RWD?

Sorry. I can’t believe I have not gotten to these wheels I’ve got stored about a half hour away. HOWEVER, based on the rear brake size and how close they come to the inside of the wheels, I really doubt that 17” will work. I promise to update this eventually though.

Creep Roll Hold gone from all 2024 Tesla vehicles

Verified today I still have my creep and roll available on my 2023 and it hasn’t (yet) been taken away by any updates.

M3 Highland - Demo Drive Thoughts

I found the rear center headrest in the new model to look just too darn weird to me. It doesn’t block the rear view, but it sure feels like it’s going to. The 2023 center headrest retracts, unlike the 2024. 2024 also lost center heater. Here’s the 2024. See right side of pic. Then my...

Does Tesla Share Drivers Habits to Data Brokers too? (!!!)

I got a text from my State Farm agent (or one of her employees) that our Tesla insurance was going up due to the high cost to repair teslas. This was only ~4 months after checking rates before purchasing, and they didn’t respond when I asked how much it is going up. Just this morning while...

    2024 Highland M3 side-by-side comparison videos

I was wondering about this. I just ran an update from February on our new car this morning before my wife took it to work. I wonder if we lost the three options.

Determining most efficient charge rate 2023 M3 RWD LFP

I was doing this but realized that the 300W used by the car being awake, and battery heating when cold makes it more efficient to charge as fast as possible. I was worried about causing peaks in my load with higher amps and only just realized that the peaks are only measured if they are...

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

I can confidently say that we would have bought a model Y instead of a 3 if buying today. However, when buying in 2023, my wife and son decided that the 3 was smoother than the Y (and I believe my son likes the 3 looks more), so they decided on the 3. Stalks were no question at all. I think I...
