    Ran Over a Curb...

That's the plastic bottom part. The metal part is what he was talking about. It's expensive/involved enough that some people just buy some aftermarket side skirts to cover it up. Unlike the Model Y, the metal part is part of the body (go from the rear quarter panel to the metal rocker, you will...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

It's kind of like the stop sign logic previously. If there were no cars in the intersection, it would roll the stop (like most human drivers do). Of course the law doesn't allow for that. For the record, I stop at stop signs and also signal even if there are no apparent cars around. Better safe...

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Or it could be typical Tesla parts stocking speed. Tesla wasn't exactly fast in stocking their CCS adapters (for Teslas) nor many parts in their store (like the 14-50 adapter for example).

Help: Horrific battery draining while parked in long term parking structure - I've got 12 days to go

That's actually quite bad for deep sleep. Did you have cabin overheat or summon standby on? Do you have any third party apps that can access the car? Does the garage have any LTE reception? One theory is the car may waste more energy trying to find a connection (similar to how a cellphone in a...

    Autopilot/FSD Pedestrian Accident

I disagree. There are highways that pass through slower zones with pedestrian crossings and it would be highly annoying for AP/autosteer to just cancel through those sections. It may also lead to mode confusion (which is one issue pointed out by the NHTSA). Keeping in a lane is not an issue and...

Ordering Model 3 (2017-2023) Rear Painted Fascia

Thanks for updating so at least we know that there are still SOME service centers that are willing to sell them. Doing a parts only request may have helped, because otherwise there is a boilerplate response where they may push you to a body shop, because Tesla generally doesn't deal with...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

But the point is it doesn't always strictly follow the speed sign, especially if you have the automatic speed setting. The same thing may apply to the turn arrows on the ground. It may read the turn arrow, but that doesn't mean it has to follow it (it can choose to favor map data).

Suggestions on protecting the USB stick?

Get one with USB 3.0 support (usually the plastic for the connector is blue; if you look closely there are 9 pins instead of 4 pins in USB 2.0) and as short as possible (for lowest voltage drop). The port itself is USB 3.0 and the Tesla USB stick is USB 3.0. I don't have specific recommendations...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

But does the arrow show up in the visualization of the road for the correct lane (s)? That was my main question. Again, whether the car can read and recognize the arrow is separate from whether it acts on it. It may weigh any map data more heavily, but that doesn't mean it can't read the turn...

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

Because if the "restock" cost is too high, there is going to be little difference from the owner selling the car themselves, which makes the return policy far less attractive. It was already dubious how many additional sales that policy drove in the first place (even with no cost to the owner)...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

Turn arrows on the lane itself is one of the few things FSD visualizes. It doesn't do that for road signs other than speed limits and stop signs. Whether it acts on that information is another matter. For your particular example are you saying that even when the road is completely clear (such...

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

If there is an advantage, people are going to be prone to abuse. If there is little to no advantage, the policy is pointless and will do little to drive extra sales. That's kind of the dilemma. You are proposing to turn every Tesla into a rent to own scheme, which as another pointed out, Tesla...

Does wall charger ground need to be insulated?

Only needed a short section for my 14-50 installation, so price didn't really matter to me, but at Lowes the THHN costs less than Home Depot, so the price difference (at least here in California) is only 60 cents for bare solid vs 68 cents a foot for green THHN: Southwire (By-the-Foot) 10-Gauge...

Stalk or no stalk argument [not] settled

It's simply not sustainable once they sold a certain volume of cars, especially with people abusing it (as people would with any return policy). There is a reason why no automaker has such a policy either (even if they have high satisfaction ratings). Fact of the matter is the returned car...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

My understanding is any versions that reaches employee personal vehicles are already early access Beta. Actual alpha releases would be in company owned vehicles.
