Why do they call an OTA update a recall? (24V051000)

I agree that it's stupid, but it's just another stupid federal law. One would think that if the feds truly wanted a transition to EVs, they would change the law so that every knuckle-dragger out there wouldn't be saying, "Teslas are junk." But the feds are as stupid as their laws.

Tesla launched its own insurance company. What customers say....

Liberty quoted me at nearly $4,500 per year, age 69 (as of January 2024) with no accidents or violations in over 5 years.

    240V outlet bad ground?

Qmerit installed my free 240V outlet with my Bolt EUV purchase and it worked fine with my Siemens VersiCharge AND my dual-voltage Chevy charger both with my EUV and with the Tesla-included adapter in my MYLR. However, after a couple of months of successful charging of my Y, I started to get...

    Hyundai Ioniq 6 pricing

That's why I bought the MYLR. HOWEVER, now that I'm used to non (REAL) leather, I'm going to take another look at the Ioniq 6 SE for the 361-mile range and cheaper insurance. The reason I didn't test drive one was that the only one in the area had a remarkably-similar-to-tax-credit "market...

Is Elon thinking of REHIRING some of the fired SuperCharging folks

Hope so. Someone cut off all the cables (and lived) at a Houston Supercharger lot to get the copper. We're going to see a lot of that until we return some folks to "there, from which they came."

    Safety Score Flaws

Unsafe following is unavoidable. Cars pass and immediately jump in front, especially on 2-lane highways with vehicles approaching from the opposite direction. The only solution, besides letting the Tesla drive itself, is releasing the accelerator and increasing the chance of being rear-ended...

    Safety score with no insurance?

I'd be more worried about having my car towed and impounded with no insurance on a traffic stop.

    Tesla Insurance Class Action Lawsuit

Untrue. It was $86.53 for month 3 and $80.84 for month 4 and it will be $80.84 for month 5. Unfortunately, somehow I got dinged for THREE forward collision warnings in TWO short trips and now I have to drive out in the country for an hour per day for the next week to "dilute" the dings. All I...

As seen in a Pennsylvania cemetery

How convenient! Four of us can add a couple hundred miles of charge while we're saying our goodbyes.

Wiki Largest gaps between Superchargers on US Interstates

I use the Tesla OEM on my Chevy Bolt EUV mobile charger and destination chargers. This is just for CCS. Thanks to everyone for all of the criticism, but you really should save it for ICE and hybrids. I disowned my best friend since 1970 for always second-guessing everything I told him I was...

[Excellent Protection Functions]: ccs1&j1772 adapter fit for tesla charging has a connection port made of brass and silver plated, a variety of current protection can be provided during charging, including output overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, input under voltage protection...

FSD 12 perspective from a previous skeptic

Got a free 30-day trial with yesterday's update, but with the construction on my go-through route (Texas 288) - lane diversions, tractor-trailers, concrete barriers lining the traffic lanes and drugstore cowboys in their F-150s, I rarely use Autosteer. If I use this at all in the next 29 days...

Wiki Largest gaps between Superchargers on US Interstates

I know the L2 works fine. Tesla wants way too much for theirs, so infrequent emergency use on L3 (with adult supervision) doesn't worry me. The Model Y should be able to regulate the voltage or tell me that it cannot.

FSD 12 perspective from a previous skeptic

That sticker screams, "KEY MY CAR" just like my "TEDSLA" vanity license plates. I know it's infrequent, but I lessen my time inside grocery stores, just to get back to my MY before the ICEman cometh.

    Supercharger - Ely, NV

The old DieHard commercial: "Ely, Minnesota: 34 below." I bet the anti-EV media would REALLY sink their teeth into frozen Superchargers in THAT OTHER ELY.
