    No way to know if the main battery will still work/charge or not after sitting for so long. Trying to charge it surely won't do any additional harm but as you stated you would need to replace the car's 12v battery before you could even try to do anything else.

    I forget the exact name of the setting but in car you can select in the Software settings Advanced to get releases of the newest software quicker. The default setting is likely Standard. Not sure if that will speed up your first software update after delivery but is worth a shot!
