Are you trying to use them as "3 blink" mode? (whatever that is called) If so, you're probably a victim of Tesla having turned on "Auto cancel" for everyone. This feature will make single pull indicators keep blinking until the car thinks you've done the manoeuvre, whether that be changing...

All of that usually means that your main front camera isn’t working. This can sometimes be cured by letting the cat deep sleep. The primary symptom of it is seeing an alert saying AEB is not available, and not seeing visualisations properly.

    Model 3 Highland Performance

I'd lease/PCP this time around, and defintely not paying 9.6% APR, not when they can do 1.8% APR on Model Y. There will be incentives in the future, just need to sit tight in my opinion.

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

Yup, tens of thousands is what you see on "HD" matrix headlights now. Having only 100 means Teslas are always going to have limited adaptive functionality. Better than nothing I guess! I'm surprised Highland is worse than this though.

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

Ah right.. it might be limited by the relatively few number of LEDs in the headlamp. I think it's always going to be quite blocky. As mentioned - VWs and others (Audi, etc) have thousands of individual LEDs, Teslas have 100.

    [UK] 2024.20 Software Update

Will be interested to see what the cornering thing is like. I had a car with this technology before, and it was really nice. I don't recall being able to make left and right adjustments of the headlights in my M3P, I thought it was just up & down, but I could be mistaken. Are you sure you're...

Could that not simply be down to Autopark being very hit and miss? Presumably you moved the car between switching from Tesla Vision back to USS?

Hansshow vs Tesla Offer Power Frunk/Trunk - which one to buy?

Can I just get a sense check that I’ve been sent the right kit? There’s quite a few cables here, including one that looks like it connects to the CAN behind the console. Do I replace that as part of this upgrade, or reuse the one that’s already there? I have a blue CAN connector on my 2020...

    [UK] 2024.14.x

I've had issues connecting the car to my phone hotspot since 2024.14.x. More often than not it will fail to connect and prompt me for the password again. If re-entering the password it turns off "Remain connected in Drive", which is annoying when I forget to turn that on.

I've never seen marshmallow view on my car, even driving at low speeds, so I would presume we're not going to get it. Guess we'll see in time though.

Vendor Teslogic Amber Tail Light Adapters

That sounds very bizarre. Seems almost like they are in circuit with the regular red lights that come on (along with the dipped headlights) when it gets dark or overcast. Have you tried manually forcing your headlights to ON during the day and seeing if your reverse lights work then?

    Extending a Used Vehicle Warranty

Yup, it's a lot. PTC heaters seem to be a weak point in Model 3s, suspension top mounts too. Both ought to be covered. You can get a pro-rata refund for unused months, and it can be transferred to a new owner. I man mathsed it that it would make my car more attractive on the resale market...

    Extending a Used Vehicle Warranty

Yes, a dumb form. It doesn't disqualify you at the point of purchasing. They will happily take your money, send you an invoice and certificate, and then revoke it. I bought my extended warranty on 10/04, after having previously emailed per their instructions to ensure I would qualify when it...

Was it hot when you tried to open it? I’ve noticed my aftermarket powered boot seems more laboured in hot weather.

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Don't think so. Different batteries in the Shanghai car (LG) vs US (Panasonic). This is how it qualifies for the tax credit they get, I think. The Panasonic battery has more capacity, and hence more power. The LG battery is lighter. 0-60 is quoted as the same for both cars (after rollout)...

Finally had a drive on 2024.14.6 (Atom). Nice to see oncoming cars rendered again - they disappeared a long time ago for no apparent reason. Echoing previous comments that a load more things are shown in the visualisation. Interesting to see everything the car sees. Indicators and brake...

    Highland Rattle - URRGGH!

Definitely remember this. My vent covers cost an extra £100 or so more than I anticipated because of it.

Spare parts availability - 4 months and still no delivery date?

There probably are, but this forum is a very small subset of owners. Might have more luck asking on the Facebook groups: Log into Facebook (private owners only group, verified by VIN) Log into Facebook (public group)

    Highland Rattle - URRGGH!

I’ve caught the edge of the screen probably 3 times with either my phone or my ring. Not done any damage, but was glad to have the screen protector on just in case!

    Highland Rattle - URRGGH!

Buying grills for those two open vents was one of the first things I did when getting my car. Disappointing that this is still not resolved on Highland. As you say, it's just cheaping out.

    Request - Rear window seal

Very true :D I forgot that early cars had no seal at all.
  23. Durzel

    Request - Rear window seal

It's normal. The cut is there so that the powered strut doesn't rub up against it when the boot opens and closes and ultimately tear it anyway. The car wasn't originally designed to have a powered boot, the system that exists on the pre-Highland car was a workaround, responding to customer...

Hansshow vs Tesla Offer Power Frunk/Trunk - which one to buy?

I assume you haven't changed the gateway config to tell the car you have the OEM retrofit? (I have no idea if this is only safe with EVOffer's 3.0 kit, or earlier ones). Tesla did similar with the frunk a while ago. You used to be able to open and close a powered frunk via the "open" button...

Hansshow vs Tesla Offer Power Frunk/Trunk - which one to buy?

Still trying to build up the courage to do this. Since I already have the 2.5 kit I need to work out what I am removing, in what order, etc. I presume I have to pull through the old cable that was a nightmare to get through the first time, before then pulling through the replacement one, etc...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Was quietly hoping this update would fix the gap between tracks when playing from USB (e.g. in a continuous mix), but alas not. :(

In my experience that feature works pretty well. As you have surmised it may have been switched on by default in the most recent update.

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

https://www.reuters.com/legal/tesla-must-face-vehicle-owners-lawsuit-over-self-driving-claims-2024-05-15/ Would something like this be referenced in a case or as it’s as yet unresolved it wouldn’t mean much?

Actually, on the 3/Y at least, the Atom MCU is also water cooled. The service instructions for removing it reference unplugging and tapping the coolant lines for it when removing/reinstalling it. It is potentially a less effective cooling system compared to the Ryzen one, which is looped in...

    [UK] Spring Software Update

    Same on my 2020 M3P.
  31. Durzel

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Likewise, I wouldn’t consider it on a car even if I don’t assume OEM code is flawless. That’s why I said it was an impossibility. Now, an official Ryzen retrofit? I’d be all over that, would probably pay ~£1500 for it.

    [UK] 2024.14.x

Off topic but that's why I started exploring it. We have a bunch of what were very high specced iMacs at work, and replacing them would involve buying a Studio Display AND a suitably powerful Mac. Apple obviously knew what they were doing when they depreciated the 27" iMac.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

I've kinda gone over this elsewhere, but I agree with you - to a point. Tesla trades heavily off of the "your car will get better over time with software" thing, whilst other manufacturers don't. In the latter case anything you get from them is usually a bonus to what you expected, with the...

Where is UK Model Y made

I suspect ordering a Quicksilver or Midnight Cherry Red one would guarantee that it comes from Berlin. Does the delivery date estimate change if either of those two colours are picked? As mentioned TOUK have stated as fact that they are starting to be made in Berlin.
  36. Durzel

    [UK] 2024.14.x

You need to have Premium Connectivity AND to have a route planned, if you're expecting chimes. I haven't tested it myself but it does specify that requirement.

    [UK] Spring Software Update

Welcome to obsolescence! The legacy S/X guys are the party hosts. (I have heard, not tested myself, that the visualisations are more comprehensive even on Atom cars now. Just don't get full screen like the AMD cars do, which is annoying)
  38. Durzel

    [UK] 2024.14.x

It's expecting too much but I wish they'd just say that it was planned obsolescence. It's not unusual in the tech industry, and no one ever actually admits it, so I know it's expecting too much of Tesla to say "you're not getting the V12 flashiness because we want to encourage new sales". I...

Ooooh an update for one of those games that I never play but which Atom can somehow run, despite being unable to spin a bigger 3D model of the car in park. (yes I’m bitter)

I am Jack’s lack of excitement. Only visual change I can see is the bigger music playback widget. 👍 Software page in the car shows we’re on v12 but you wouldn’t know it as it’s not even mentioned in the release notes.

    Bought a Model 3 from a 3rd Party Seller

I would recommend speaking to the dealer and expressing your concerns. The likelihood is that they'll minimise the impact of mismatched treads.
  45. Durzel

[UK] Does FSD have any second-hand value?

You don’t blame Tesla at all for selling you a feature they knew they wouldn’t be able to provide in a reasonable timeframe? So essentially you donated £5,800 to Tesla, got nothing in return, and blame “UN” entirely. Pretty disappointing outlook, but then Tesla banks on people blaming entities...

Tail Light Retrofit- AMBER turn signal

The global lights have a slightly higher wattage rating if memory serves.
  47. Durzel

[UK] Does FSD have any second-hand value?

Not to mention that now that it’s been dropped from $12k ($15k at one point?) to $99/month you could not bother buying it here until it actually shows signs of coming out - e.g. in at least 5 years time - and just buy it then for the same or less.
  48. Durzel

[UK] Does FSD have any second-hand value?

Trade in quotes I’ve had from Tesla have explicitly said “includes value of Full Self Driving”, but I’ve got no way of directly comparing prices with and without.

My experience taking Tesla to court about FSD

8% is the statutory rate. Applies to everyone I believe. Tesla promised FSD Beta by the end of 2019, and for some time in 2020 by the end of that year. £5,800 @ 8% interest is £464 a year. If we say that at the very latest it should have been delivered by the end of 2020 (they changed the...
