National Construction Code consultation and impact on EVs

The EV Fire Safe website may be of help. They are an Australian mob from Victoria. Featured on the Fully Charged Podcast in January this year.

    New Model 3 Performance news

I hope that they make a 19” wheel available as an option in Australia (as China does). If so, the temptation will be near irresistible.

    NRMA fast charging network

Had an email from Chargefox saying that they were trialling access to NRMA chargers via the Chargefox app. The details other than that are fairly nebulous.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

Yes, go into the app -> charge stats -> scroll down -> settings -> home, then you edit the schedule, buy price and if relevant sell price. It can get up to 4 time-of-use tariffs and split them over the day. The image shows the schedule for my house.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I do find the visualisations useful to help understand the behaviour of the car. Either when it is signalling an alert (pedestrian or other car potential collision) or when I’m using autopilot. For the warning it identifies the specific concern. Mainly they are false positives, but not so often...

    Evie EV charging networks

I filled it in and I would encourage others to as well. I have an Evie account that I have never used. It is there to give me options just in case and they need to know why it is not my default or at least higher probability option.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

From the vehicle that the Tesla Ranger turned up in for me, there isn’t much stuff that they can’t fix in your garage

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

I’m getting a similar nudge to turn in single-tap autopilot. It’s interesting to think about what they are trying to normalise

    Australian Model 3 highland accessories

IIRC the charging ports are IP7 rated, so I haven’t been too worried about having more than the current cover over them.

That UltraRed looks fantastic in the sun. I would really love to be able to get the Midnight Cherry with a white interior.

    Cybertruck spotted in Sydney

I really wonder about that. A couple of the photos show that it definitely does not fit into a standard Australian parking space, so I wonder the same about a minimum spec kerbed traffic lane.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

You might need an environmental impact statement and a search for endangered species before you start, but I can recommend EGO electric mowers and powered garden tools. Heaps of power and good finish.

    New Model 3 Performance news

I didn’t mind the regen setup in my A3-etron. The car would coast when you took your foot off the accelerator pedal. When you put your foot on the brake it would apply regen up to (I think) about 75kW and after that the friction brakes would engage to give the deceleration you wanted above...

    New Model 3 Performance news

The Model 3 Performance page on the Tesla Australia website quotes power output at 460hp, the US quotes 510. The discussions in the main Model 3 page say the US cars are getting a US produced Panasonic 2170 (I think NCA) pack and the ROW will get a Korean LG 2170 (I think NMC) pack. The new...

Tesla can replace the charging ports for a fee so that the car can then use CCS2 cables. I can’t recall the price. A few here have done it, so they might chime in.

Gen 2 wall charger recording watts supplied

Some of the third party apps will track individual charging sessions and can calculate costs based on the site - home, whatever public charging location. you can also put the time of use cost schedule in for home. Tesla Software updates - Australia

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I did wonder about 24.14. You can’t see it on TeslaFi, Stats for Tesla or Teslascope in any of the cars using those services. You can certainly see the description on NotaTeslaApp. I think we might be a bit ahead of ourselves

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

The current iteration of the parking algorithm is the smoothest and surest it has been so far. The only other system I have used is the Audi one from 5 years ago. It was quite, teutonic, in its approach. I’d be interested in other comparisons

FWIW the Harwood Supercharger has been flooded at least once and got going again pretty fast. You could see the high water mark on the chargers for quite a while.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

The change in crossing traffic behaviour is quite a difference. In the past my car would always slow significantly if it spotted any crossing traffic.
