    Hansshow Frunk 2021+/refresh

I communicated with Hansshow via WhatsApp and was told this is a “threader” to help route the wiring harnesses in case there is a tight space. It is not for the emergency release.

    Hansshow Frunk 2021+/refresh

I appreciate all the info in this thread, as I received the Hansshow kit yesterday and plan on installing this weekend. The only thing that is throwing me is an extra double loop cable that is in the kit. It is not shown in the instructions or on any of the videos. I have attached a picture...

Reading Speed Limit Signs – Autopilot Crippled

Updated to 2020.48.10 from 2020.44.25 yesterday (12/12/20). Today the car for the first time read speed limit signs >60 mph! Until now, they would not even show up on the screen, but every sign of 60 and below displayed perfectly. Today 65 mph and 70 mph signs were displayed and the speed...

Reading Speed Limit Signs – Autopilot Crippled

My M3 also does not see (is blind) to any speed above 60. There are several roads in my area that are 65 in places. Any speed at or below is read with no problem. The 65mph signs are the same size, shape and font as the slower speeds, with no additional wording, but they do not show up in the...

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

When I charged Tuesday, the highest I saw was 158KW, and then tapered off from there. The battery preconditioned on the way to the station. That was at about 20% SOC. While that was nice, I was hoping to see 250. Maybe there is more tweaking that Tesla has to do to unleash full power and turn...

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

Any ideas why Units have not been turned on? Don’t get me wrong, I love the chargers that are on! I charged on Tuesday and was able to skip A charge on the way down Monday. Was awesome making one 25 minute stop on the way down.

    US Target Superchargers

A Supercharger with 8 stalls opened this week in Panama City Beach. 40 miles from Destin, but maybe you could look at PCB to snow bird.

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

Awesome. I’m surprised to see only 3 chargers available. Either the charger is busy, or one bank of 4 is down. With way, we can charge.

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

We now get to skip a stop on our way down. :-)

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

The Supercharger is on the car maps! It does not show how many chargers are available yet, but I’m sure it will. Thanks to all who kept the updates flowing. Really cool to follow the progress.

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

I just checked the maps in my M3 and it now shows a Supercharger in that location, but it is blue, not red as the other chargers, and when I clicked on it it gave the information and location for the Supercharger in Defuniak Springs. Hopefully it updates the status and info quickly.

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

Anyone been by this week to check the status? I will be down next week and hope to be able to skip the DeFuniak Springs charger.

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

I just checked the map in my M3. PCB supercharger does not show up yet. Tesla has real time data on the maps for superchargers as far as number of chargers available, so I’m hoping that they are as efficient adding new stations.

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

    Anyone taken a charge yet?!?!?

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

Thanks, that makes more sense then what I thought the worker was telling me. Maybe he meant that the service from the utility is located at the store transformer, then go to the connection box and ultimately to the Tesla transformer.
  17. D

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

There is a 112KVA transformer with the Gulf Power meter which were both installed when the Busy Bee was built. Per the workers, that was done so the utility work would be out of the way. The power from that transformer goes to a connection box (installed during the current build) and then to...

Transformer ready to set. Meter is installed.

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

Just visited. All the cabinet wiring is complete. The workers are prepping for the transformer. According to the workers, the transformer that was already there will feed an electrical “can” which will feed the new transformer which will be installed by tomorrow. The worker said they were...

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

When I was there Saturday the pad was still empty. The pad was poured at the same time as the other pads. There is some conduit installed. There is a transformer in the fenced off area, but it was there before the construction started. I will get back and check soon.

Pulling cables and doing the wiring.
  22. D

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

Charging stations installed. The fence has been pulled back to just the stations. The charging cables are the small cables which are on the 250kw stations.
  23. D

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

Work is still moving on quickly! Some power equipment has been installed, one pad is still empty. The charging stations are laid out.
  24. D

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

Work still continues. The concrete forms are built around the charging outlets and were the main equipment will be built. One picture shows the single charging outlet conduit to allow nose in charging, and if you zoom the other picture you can count the other 7 for the normal back in charging...

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

I will be going by there today and will get a few more pictures. When I was there Monday (two days ago) you could clearly see where the 8 charging stations will be placed. Yesterday was a total rain day, so I don’t expect much change from Monday, but we will see.
  26. D

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

You are right. I drove by again today and the 8 charging stations are clearly identifiable, based on conduit stub outs. There are 7 spots along the back of the parking spaces, and one more off to the side for the straight pull in spot.

    Daily / Frequent Supercharging

It’s cool. I did not mean to start anything like this. I never “preached” that supercharging doesn’t degrade battery performance or longevity, I simply said that one should not stress over it.

    Daily / Frequent Supercharging

Thanks for the additional comments, but again, where is the data? The article referenced is over 3 years old and based on batteries that are older than that and not installed in Model 3 or Y’s. The power transfer from Launch and track modes are not comparable with supercharging. Many, many...

    Daily / Frequent Supercharging

Great request for data, but it will probably go unanswered. Almost everything you see out there is an opinion. All I know is the tweet sent out by Elon saying charging to 90% is good for the battery. But even given that, you will find plenty of comments to never charge above 80%. Go figure...

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

Our condo parking garage only have a few 120v outlets which are very hard to get to in the peek season. Very slow, but usually acceptable provided we can get to an outlet. There are zero public level 2 charges in PCB. A few at some resorts and hotels, but nothing readily accessible to the...

Construction has started! It is electrical conduit city. The workers confirmed that this was for Tesla.

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

A couple of additional pictures. These 8 spots are on the west side of the building. The only material visible is some pressure treated 2X4’s. I will be here for a couple more weeks and will see if I can spot anything else.

Tesla just lost one customer, i know they dont care but i do !

I agree. Most Tesla owners get upset when the news covers a singe Autopilot accident, with no injuries, while ignoring the thousands of ICE car accidents. I believe the same thing happens with service. Bad service is real, and happens, but I think there are far more that go well. My...

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

I'm really looking forward to this instillation. We have a rental unit on the beach and being able to have supercharging less than 3 miles away would be a great thing to add to our rental listing.

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

These were taken this morning. There is no parking on the east side of the building due to the drive thru, fuel storage access, dumpsters and what looks like a building generator. No parking on the street side of the gas pumps. About a dozen or so spots in front of the store. On the west...

    HPWC/breaker almost caught fire...thoughts?

The damage is where the high resistance was. Resistance can come from an air gap (not tight) or something physically between the connection. If the wires connected to the breaker were not damaged, then the issue was not with them or how they were connected. Resistance in one area will not...

Supercharger - Panama City Beach, FL

Just drove the parking lot (in my M3!) and no construction on Superchargers has started. Frankly, there is not a lot of parking space available at this location. Nothing like the space available at the Live Oak Busy Bee. That location is an awesome stop!
