    Ran Over a Curb...

correct. cracked rocker panel plastic covers are ~$200 / cover from the SC and you can install yourself. the dented actual rocker panel is metal and part of the entire frame. dumb design and cost prohibitive to fix in most cases imho.
  2. T

    Ran Over a Curb...

wouldn't worry about coolant or brake lines if the liquid is clear. however that dented rocker panel won't be cheap to fix... it's not a part which can be readily replaced without major bodywork and welding + painting. would be surprised if it can be fixed for less than $5k.

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

probably farther... imagine Tesla having a Model 2 on the market instead of wasting resources on the ridiculous Cybertruck and FSD

    Cybertruck is a scam.

stolen Cybertruck already? normally those events are at night and with Chargers/Camaros and nearly all of them get trashed and left behind as stolen vehicles...

    phantom Braking

was it a true AEB misfire? did the car go down to 0 mph from 72 mph? i had a legit AEB event once when not paying attention and a car stopped in front of me and the vehicle with AEB *slammed* on the brakes extremely hard. Phantom braking is much much milder....

    phantom Braking

for what it's worth: My 2019 Model 3 AWD did Dallas Ft.Worth - Taos / New Mexico back and forth over Memorial Day Weekend and the following observations: - used TACC and AP - same conditions as last year, plenty of heat mirages, same route including notorious Amarillo - Clayton / NM road -...

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

lol. so theoretically a 8 stall installation could have 4 duds and it's still "100% up" ?
  8. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

for what it's worth.... drove back from Taos / NM to DFW yesterday and experienced a "dead" stall in Henrietta and Vernon. Not a huge deal but also not 99% uptime.

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Shouldn’t your job decision be based on pay/benefits/room to grow instead of “my employer is leading in the field” ? I mean working for EA wouldn’t be so bad if you make 40% more and have an outlook for a promotion versus (hypothetically) staying at Tesla for less pay and no promotion? “My...

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

they weren't exactly forced... VW was forced to spend billions on charging infrastructure but I'm sure EA (which they founded) was run by motivated people. Point being - third party fast chargers *suck*.... EA / EVGo and who else. There's a reason Tesla saw the Supercharger network as...
  12. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

because "offloading to third party networks" in the charging world has worked super so far. Electrify America anyone?
  13. T

… and will most certainly look for other job opportunities constantly from now on. Fool me once, fool me twice…
  14. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

So much for “the maintenance team wasn’t part of the cuts”. One technician for a 200 mile stretch in California… lol… good luck with that.

Abrupt Phantom Breaking at high speed - scary

either way it's totally unacceptable when other vehicles with TACC don't suffer from these issues and my Model 3 *before they deleted radar and forced it on vision only* had no issues on that road either. All i want is functioning TACC so i can rest my foot a bit without being paranoid of a PB...
  16. T

Abrupt Phantom Breaking at high speed - scary

just give me radar back... so the car knows there is no "perceived danger" on a wide open highway .... the 1.2 MP cameras perceive danger differently than a radar unit. Or better: radar/Lidar and cameras
  17. T

Abrupt Phantom Breaking at high speed - scary

doesn't explain phantom braking in middle of nowhere, no speed signs changing.... i invite you to drive Dallas-Amarillo and onto Colorado via Clayton/NM on a hot sunny day. You will get PB's galore.... everytime the road has slight up/downs on long empty stretches with mirages over the asphalt...

Cybertruck Will Feel Dated By the Time it Comes Out?

for all ~90 miles of it... I guess... disaster relief might take a while though depending how far away the area is....

    CyberCab / Tesla Robotaxi Discussion

which memo? the one before or after Roadster 2 / Plaid+ with 500 miles of range / Cybertruck with 500 miles of range / optimus assembling Teslas ?
  20. T

Abrupt Phantom Breaking at high speed - scary

funny how dozens of other manufacturers achieve speed limit sign automated reading without the car going from 70 mph to 50 mph in seconds. if that's the real cause for PB... which it isn't...

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

there's a difference between not publishing the source vs. not knowing who the source is... Reuters sounds like they know who are the sources but they keep them anonymous so they don't get fired from Tesla...
  22. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

100% pretty obvious strategy. if Elon thinks Reuter is incorrect - then refute it.
  23. T

    CyberCab / Tesla Robotaxi Discussion

wing doors on a robo taxi? yeah... talking about high maintenance, wear/tear and needless complexity on a vehicle which needs to be as low maintenance as possible and will look like an uncleaned subway after a few weeks...
  24. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

CNN / Fox are *cable news* ... huge difference. Their effort is to pump ratings. Reuters employs a lot more photo journalists and folks on the ground in different countries than CNN and Fox combined.
  25. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

let me guess... you trust Elon, everything Elon re-posts on X.... everything which i disagree with is "fake news". sounds familiar. Reuters is one of the most established and reputable news organizations.
  26. T

Abrupt Phantom Breaking at high speed - scary

because hitting the accelerator hard when the car brakes is a pretty novel thing to do.... it's completely counterintuitive
  27. T

Abrupt Phantom Breaking at high speed - scary

yeah. only because a speed sign shows up doesn't justify braking super hard to hit that posted speed within seconds....
  28. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Well… just sayin’ if 20% of your team deserve to be canned at any moment… then you are running a bad team and never did appropriate performance assessment in the years prior.
  29. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

If your team has 20% low performers then you need to resign as leader… because that’s an insane %.
  30. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

yup. good leaders question and stand up for what's right. not fire 20% off their team because the dear Leader said so "or else" ... Whatever culture Elon is currently fostering at Tesla ain't a good one. Exhibit a) senior executives leaving left and right
  31. T

Cyber(nota)truck even more Not a truck than I first thought

well... Tesla isn't going to drop big $$$ on a major S/X upgrade either. see the posting i was originally responding to that Tesla is working on CT upgrades. it's not a priority in the resource competition when Model 2 needs to be ready as well as Model Y refresh.
  32. T

Cyber(nota)truck even more Not a truck than I first thought

sorry - 40-50k Cybertrucks estimated for production in 2024 is anemic compared to the massive volumes the 3 and Y are doing.
  33. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

lol. so per his prior tweet expansion is slowing down with the focus on expanding existing chargers and uptime ... and now he is spending "well over $500 million" this year alone on expansion with "thousands of new chargers". "thousands of new chargers" = 2,000 new stalls minimum ("thousands")...
  34. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

on a corporate side - salaries as cost factor are usually accounted as "all in". which as the other person stated includes taxes, benefits, employer contributions health care etc. I would also assume that the head of the SC team had substantial compensation in stock options.
  35. T

Cyber(nota)truck even more Not a truck than I first thought

agreed. with the anemic production numbers of the Cybertruck and slow ramp up + a Model 2 which needs to be developed and a Y refresh and whatnot.... Tesla isn't going to drop even more engineering resources on that niche vehicle
  36. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

or to make charging as much of a hassle and $$ as possible so the consumer says... "nah. i'll stick with gasoline...". (devil's advocate) kinda like Exxon buying up green energy patents and then letting them sit and not doing anything with them
  37. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

yeah .... not trusting Big Oil with having the best interest in mind for electric vehicles... but maybe I'm wrong. on the other hand it's good to see other large corporations looking into charging while Tesla seems to be stepping back...

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

they'll have tremendous issues hiring talent going fwd after: - entire teams getting canned via a 1am email - massive "hardcore" layoffs while Elon also changes incorporation to Texas from Delaware because he wants his $50b+ pay day - senior leadership leaving - summer interns being told "go...

He had to sell a ton of Tesla shares to fund the brilliantly conceived and executed takeover of twitter for $44B…. A company currently estimated to be worth $12B per fidelity analysts

a brief look at future sites for EvGO, EA, chargeplug tells you the opposite... and some of those "future non-Tesla sites" have been listed for YEARS and still aren't there. so yeah.... not holding my breath
  45. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

lol. lol. lol. so who's selecting sites, getting quotes from contractors, negotiating with utilities, integrating into Tesla network etc. ... that's all "no longer needed" ? and even if superchargers were 99.9% uptime without any maintenance team due to a "superior design" ... well ... S**T...
  46. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

Hard to see how any OEM will be entertaining to license “FSD” from Tesla after this move. Ford, Rivian, plenty others swallowed their pride and admitted that Tesla’s charging standard is superior and went into agreement with Tesla to make their vehicles NACS and Supercharger compatible. Tesla...
  47. T

    Entire Supercharging Team Fired?

and none of the above would even remotely justify canning the ENTIRE team with an email at midnight. also Elon said none of the above.... a lot of odd theories just to not entertain the idea that Elon acts irrational at times and Supercharging takes the backseat for AI and robotaxis...

shhhhhht. that's a thing here.... any vehicle *not* made by Tesla: let's quote the highest config/trim level and also claim there's another +$10k in dealership markups any vehicle which is a Tesla: let's quote the lowest price possible *after* tax/ fuel savings....
