    Neocharge Smart Splitter

Hey all, Sold the car so I don't need these parts anymore. The Neocharge smart splitter plugs into your 14-30 outlet and will switch between the appliance and EV charger, with priority to the appliance. It is a more steam-lined alternative to the dryer buddy. I had mine installed for 11...

How I Recovered Half of my Battery's Lost Capacity

I started following this method a few months ago, my stealth P had a high of 314, which dropped to 300, and now after following this regimen is back up to 307. Car has 6800 miles, 12 months old.

    Model 3 LR - 210 miles on 100% charge

You might not think you are driving fast but it's very easy to burn power. Just accelerating briskly will put it over 300wh/mi. 60-65mph is low 200s, 70-75 is 250-260 and 80+ will be 280+.

Share your positive Tesla Service experience

My car has been to the service center a few times. 1. Clip inside door panel broke, they fixed it within 5 minutes. 2. loose sway bar end link, dash board and a pillar rattle - they fixed the sway bar link while i waited, and ordered a new dash and a pillar. 3. Dropped off car for the dash/ a...

    How to tighten knuckle bolts

Thanks for the replies guys. another forum member who had these loosen just threw a socket on it without issue. I did the same, got them to spec, one on each side was slightly under.

Be aware! Missing Control Arm Nut: Potential Safety Issue

Not sure that that"gap" is significant. My car has it as well on the rubber boot with the metal ring holder.

Be aware! Missing Control Arm Nut: Potential Safety Issue

Nah, thats just bad factory alignment happens to every brand. You can see the nuts/bolts we are talking about through the wheels near the bottom of the brake rotor. If they are on there and look tight against the lockwasher and you don't have any clunking/popping etc, they should be good.

Be aware! Missing Control Arm Nut: Potential Safety Issue

Just got done checking my p3d. Yeah the galling on the nut seat. I just checked my model 3, the most forward bolt was slightly under spec on both sides, not anywhere near loose but it did turn very slightly before 133ft lbs. The one pictured coming loose in this thread was at least at spec. I...

Be aware! Missing Control Arm Nut: Potential Safety Issue

Mine are pretty tight, tried with a big adjustable wrench before taking the wheel off and they won't budge, just wanted to get my actualy torque wrench on them to make sure.

Be aware! Missing Control Arm Nut: Potential Safety Issue

Do you know the proper way to torque these? The bolt itself has the torx female end and the nut sits on that end. Can I just get a deep socket on the nut and torque it?

    How to tighten knuckle bolts

Want to check the torque on the knuckle bolts, but I was curious as to how to tighten them. The bolt itself has a torx or star female end where the nut goes. Do I need to get a bit in there to hold it and then a wrench on the nut, or can I just get a deep socket on the nut and torque?

How I Recovered Half of my Battery's Lost Capacity

One thing I haven't really seen talked about is how degradation affects power output. I know, and I've seen the dyno's at different SoC, but say you are at 90% battery on an undegraded car, and 90% battery on a car that has lost 10% capacity, how is power output affected?

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Yeah, I definitely think it holds weight. I've seen slight decreases in rated miles when charging more frequently for smaller outings, and then saw some increases letting the car sit at lower SoC before charging back to 90%.

    Leaking CV Axle Seal

So I got the car back a couple days ago. Turns out the passenger side axle seal was the one leaking, not the drivers side that I took a picture of. They showed me the car while on the lift, and the drivers side looked kinda like some sort of clear fluid film with dirt on it, I guess assembly...

    Software 2020.11.105.1?

Perfectly normal, it usually will update to the latest within a few weeks. My guess is that the ecu is loaded with software with w/e is most current at the time its made and then is pulled outta the stack for a car.

Sold Car to Carvana Experience + Used Tesla Purchase Experience

There seems to be a bug with carvana right now, in another thread (and my car included) they are offering $38k for every model 3 regardless of trim level.

How fast do you drive? And what about range?

at 70-80 mph, my stealth perf will do about 250 miles on a full charge. Lower that to a constant 60 mph and it would do 310+

Both Front Ball Joint to be replacée after 60k Miles

I am inclined to agree... Although I haven't had super major issues, but I've had a few problems with mine that have resulted in a few stays at the service center over this first year. I've gotten a loaner each time though and they have fixed the issues

    Clucking noise on Model3 2020/1 SR+ , slow speed stop/go

I mean granted, my previous cars a Honda Accord auto, and vw Gli dsg both made some weird ass gear/transmission noises. Just googling clunk drive unit shows a bunch of results even going back to the begining model s etc ... Looks like a thing that's been going on for a while.

    Strange development---need your input please

Check the notifications on the car by going to Car>Service>Notifications. Any charge interruptions would be displayed in there most likely. For instance, a week ago my mobile charger's built in GFCI started tripping and interrupting the charge. All those errors were in the notifications.

    160 miles on charge 92%-4%

It seems for my p3d-, any speed above 60-65 is a big efficiency hit. I was able to hold 210-212 wh/mi yesterday driving for a long period of time at 60mph. At 70, I am usually around 250-260, at 80, I am at 280-290.

This can't be good, front motor issue?

Oil down there would either be CV joint axle seal or motor casing gasket. If the motor was low on oil I'd expect a warning, but who knows, you might be getting a new front drive unit. I've actually got a leaking axle seal right now, no weird noises though, service visit on Tuesday.

    Tire Wear Issue

So the shop found the camber and toe way out? I'm curious why you are saying you have the car back in specs? The camber isn't really adjustable unless they mess with the subframe which I don't think the shop did. So that 100% needs to be addressed with the service center.

Yeah, I've seen you in those threads. Leaking CV Axle Seal

Well I have a service appt in 2 weeks for something else, but another post on here prompted me to take a look at my rear motor. Looks like either the boot or the axle seal on the driver's side into the rear motor is leaking, added it to my appointment and included this picture.

Tesla Service - still a complete joke?

The thing is Tesla's service quality is a known thing. Just browsing forums will tell you that it isn't great, can't get a person on the phone etc... That it wasn't going to be the Audi/Lexus experience. They can service cars outside of 20 miles, you just gotta get the car there. Now that's...
